What I love about Skyrim? Things like this:

I was jsut exiting Whiterun when a group of Thugs (yes, that group) attacked me, so I fought for my life, I had to reload quite a few times before my mage was able to kill them all with fiery deaths.

The way out of Whiterun now was littered with four corpses, one of them near the stables.

So a short time later I walk abck up the road to Whiterun, when I come upon one of the npcs kneeling by one of the bodies and caressing it as if he just lost a dear friend:

His hand was really stroking over the dead guys shoulder back and forth...

I wonder if they knew each other...

Reading a random book gave me a new quest, then on the way to it got attacked by a culture who dropped a book with another quest inside. Amazing!!

The negative energy on this board is depressing. Post at least one thing you love about the game, try to get some good vibes on the board :)

I will start with the atmosphere, it's one of the many things I really enjoy about this game. There are so many vistas to take in, yesterday I was standing in the middle of an island on a lake, with a low mist hanging over the hills. A few moments later it started snowing and I could barely see a few feet in front of me. Awesome....
On countrary of what some may think bout my posts , that I am criticizing skyrim so much , for the simplifications , the stuff they removed , rpg elements gone , 4 slots for armour , no slots for other stuff, less spellls , no possibility to fight from horsebacketc , short quests , depowered vampires and spoiled werewolves , no limitations in guilds approach , no variations of weapons and spells , no spears and crossbows , few interaction with npcs , some items not pickable , few variation in look among villages , cities are to small , too few people around , no snow accumulation or other more modern shaders / effects , bad looking distant terrain , no direct 11 x support etc etc ...

I like :

Graphics look like an elmore painting
Graphic art direction is way better
Rivers do flow nicely
crafting system is nice
perk system introduction is nice
music is awesome
atmosphere in conan style I like a lot
the quests have a much serious approach now that I like
the world is nicely crafted
every dungeon is different
armours are nice
Dragons are awesome ( really )
incredible number of items for alchemy ( altough alchemy feels pretty limited and boring if limited only to make potions )
possibility to upgrade level of weapons and armours
story is beautyfull

I love companions. Just got Lydia to help me and am surprised how streamlined everything and the command system is miraculous in its ease of being able to tell a companion what to do. I was able to tell Lydia to cook some food and even rest after a furious battle with some bandits while i stood watch. I finally dont feel alone when exploring the Elder Scrolls. Before this i would have to rely on classic standbys like MIGHT AND MAGIC 5 thru 9 for that multi party fix.

I love the creepy chanting i hear when nearing the location of a Dragon Shout. Its like something out of the horror movie SCALPS.

I love how buetiful SKYRIM looks while running stunningly fast when it comes to framerates.

I love the different body types and facial appearances aswell the totally believable excellent voice acting. Am spending more time talking to npcs then i am exploring dungeons

I love the weapon sound effects. Very impactful with headphones but not distracting or disturbing when using my speakers. No more worries about having the neighbors reasonably annoyed. Of course the unreasonable types will just have to keep on dealing with it cause haters are gonna hate about something.

I love SKYRIM as it is with no mods just like FALLOUT 3. I've learned though even a perfect game can become more personal with mods created by fantastic talented Modders.

I love the SKYRIM soundtrack which i seriously doubt i will ever add any other music.

I love how polished Skyrim is and how even when I'm not working on a quest (either main or side-quest) there is something fun or interesting to do or see. I really love being able to find caves and dungeons that do not all look the same with the same worthless leveled loot. I also like the magic animations, the two handed casting, the shield bashing, the slow-mo death blows and decapitations, the improved alchemy system and new crafting system... I love the attributes being simplified into three categories (magic, health, stamina), the perk system, the detailed towns, the limitless NPC job quests, and the fact that you stick to the ground instead of floating off stairs and declines when running.... I'm sure I could go on. I think even though I feel the companion NPC scripts / AI is lacking compared to the rest of the game, it is still greatly improved from Oblivion (remember the adoring fan). My favorite is probably the setting though. I think Skyrim was rendered with stunning graphics, special effects, and almost "Fall Out like" grittiness. Even though Oblivion had a great environment, Skyrim blows it out of the water.

Let me be the first to say that while I typically will not pay $59.99 for a game on the PC, I am more then happy to spend it for Skyrim. Best $60 bucks I ever spent. Just going to a two or three hour movie at the theater can cost that much! I've been at Skyrim now for 60+ hrs and still have a long ways to go... and that is just my first play around. This game was released with more content then the GOTY Oblivion version lol

I really don't think Bethesda, as good as they are, can top Skyrim the way they topped Oblivion. What is next guys? A 200 hour vanilla game?

Definitely the thing I love about Skyrim the most is the physics. Shouting goats off of mountains (or people), throwing things in rivers and watching them sail away....other stuff like that. Its really nice to see how technology has come along.

Also, one of my first experiences in the game was when I dropped some weapon and a guy ran up and equipped it. I'm going to try this later with dragonplate armor.

Edit: 90 hours in, MQ finished, Companions finished, but less than 1/4 of the dungeons cleared.

Yesterday I gave the game a whole new lease of life - not that it needed it - by just going exploring with no particular goal. It's the best way to play the game.

This pretty much sums up how I have been playing. I've got so many quests started and not finished because I just tend to roam around exploring.

Taking your time exploring, and ending up waaay in over your head. Last time I had to swim for my life from a Sabre Cat.

I LOVE....

* The fact that i'm over 100 hours in, and haven't really done many quests.... and feel the better for it.

* The way my Imperial Dragon of the North looks... I feel like a bender looking at him over and over after any armour change, then watching him run.. wowsers.. haha.

* The feeling of belonging/'your place' in the current political setting, and the monumental role it looks like you will play in the future of Skyrim (only 3 main quests in, so not really knowing what's coming.. good times)

* The way nearly all my gripes with Oblivion have been addressed, the UI on Xbox is great - feels natural in combat/swapping out spells/items quickly.

* The game world.. it's just so great.... Bethesda are true BROS.

Combat hands down is one of the most impressive elements. I'm constantly shocked by how empowering the combat system is for me personally. Some fights can seem so impossible but timing, pots, shouts, all play such key roles & can completely turn the tide of any battle then add finishers, executions.....oh this game just brings me back to Morrowind...sitting there switching players between me & my two cousins just playing day to night week after week. That constant sense of wonder & beauty. Skyrim! Damn this post, now I wanna play but I just got to work lol. 10 hours & I'll be back in the land of Skyrim!

The things I really like and appreciate in Skyrim are:

- The much more individual and interesting dungeons/caves etc. I like the more frequent use of dangerous traps and puzzles. It feels much more satisfying then either Morrowind or Oblivion.
- Exploration feels much more like it used to in Morrowind. So many little details that tell a story and perk your interest, exploration is finally rewarded again, especially if you chose not to fast travel. Also I appreciate the random encounters, hostile or otherwise, that add to the immersion of the world.
- Breathtaking views and wonderful graphics
- Improved combat. It is the best in an Elder Scrolls game so far.
- Game's challenge feels just about right for me. I really do feel like it's very dangerous to go off the main roads unprepared, especially for my stealthy agent type.

What? This board is horrendous man, depressingly negative!
Morrowind rants and Navigational Marker expletives.

It's an amazing game, haters will always hate.

Just like lube helps to masterbate.

Now, back to the Pawned Prawn to sell some 'home invasion' loot.. :celebration:

Hmm, there's alot that I love about Skyrim - but I'll try put something brief and specific...

There's something about Skyrim that I can't quite explain, that despite all the streamlining and changes I felt negatively about pre-release - pale in comparison to the game as a whole being utterly fantastic.

I loved Morrowind, I didn't like Oblivion alot and to my surpise, I love Skyrim. It does something right and I can't put my finger on it, atmosphere? Music? Combat?

...That wasn't specific at all.

Yay for the positive vibe!

I love -

* That after completing the main quest after 81 hours of playing, there is still so much to do and see. I`ve still got most of the city generated quests to go and the ever increasing radiant generated quests.
* The combat system..i love the cinematics and the slo-time perk induced blocking of my melee fighter. Most fights feel quite brutal and look great.
* The random encounters...not knowing what i may bump into on the road is great, adds to the overall adventuring feel of the world.
* Dungeons. I never get tired of the dungeon delving in this game. They feel huge and quite dangerous this time around...excellent.
* The sheer world size. It just feels so big and with so much to find out there. Walking around by foot is a pleasure in this game, and drinking in the sights of the landscape just captivates me.

-As a dungeon crawler it is better than Oblivion and Morrowind.
Remiscent of Daggerfall, but with way better dungeons.

-There is just so much to do, explore, discover in the world. I can hardly go through one quest without picking up two more.

-Many locations in the wild and many dungeons tell a little 'story'. Like the dungeon with the blind man guarding it, or the destroyed shack where a falling tree killed the occupant.

-Big, hidden things like Blackreach. Wow. Blackreach is awesome.

-Skyrim is divided between Imperials and Stormcloaks and neither are 'the good guys' or 'the bad guys'.
They are depicted as people.

I love the way random events can crash together to make something no one else will see. For example, I head to Dawnstar and a dragon is attacking. It flees the town after a while, but I chase it. On the way, a frightened woman runs up and tells me that she just barely managed to escape a bandit cave. She tells me where it is, and I decide to hit it after the dragon. But as I run off, a giant kills her.

And I love how even tho my guy is pretty badass i can still walk into a dungeon and get owned!

This.... I'm at lvl 30 and I'm still getting my [censored] handed to me.

That's one thing about this game... I'm getting real experience. Whereas in other games you'd just figure out a quirk of the game mechanics that would let you beat a boss or level, this one has you using tactics to get ahead. You really do have to work out how you're gonna fight....like sometimes I just run like hell from the main bad guy....LOL

IMO the most positive thing about Skyrim is killing ( haha) and the feeling of staying alive after breaking 5 enemies or jumping on dragon's head to finish him , I think next time I'll choose Orc and no magic :)
