The level of detail in the world and the thought that has gone into it is so awesome.

Thats what happens when a game world is created by a handful of people over 3 games in the 90's era.......where story and making unique games is what sold.

Of course! The modern industry don't care about games, just the cash.

The modern industry cares about it's games. It's just their fanbase is unappeasable, petty, divided, self righteous, self entitled, selfish, and much more. Hell, go and look toward the indies. Of course you'll see money spinning if you're only looking at CoD. Go and play The Witcher franchise.

They ALWAYS said there are 2 moons.

But there is actually 3 and it's hidden on the other side.

It's called Nazeem.

Lol, that's deep! :lmao:

Yup. They're beautiful, aren't they?
I think I have a photo here somewhere... yes: http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u476/arconacor/TESV2012-02-1717-00-45-01.jpg

Morrowind was my first TES game. I noticed the two moons, but never really gave it much thought. They can make for some nice screenshots, expecially if there's an aurora.

EDIT: Here's a screenshot, only one moon in this pic, but its one of my favorites.

I like it when the moons are out with the Blue Aurora. But that is a very nice pic, wish I could take screenshots on Xbox. You're so lucky. Take more and share with us less fortunate. :)

That is a nice pic too. I seem to like the stary night pics, moon(s) or just the stars with Aurora.

They are called Masser and Secunda in Imperial, or Jone and Jode in Ehlnofex.
They are the body of a dead god, Lorkhan.

Its not a theory by the way.
The Mundus is a geocentric universe with Nirn square in the middle.
Everything orbits around Nirn, the moons the planets, the sun.
This can for instance be seen at the orrery in Oblivion.
Imperial Mannanauts have been to the moons, as have Altmer Sunbirds.
Khajiit dont need ships, they can just climb up there, as they have the sugar to do so.

Mhm, this is correct yes. The Lore of TES is very deep and detailed, with much information from many sources.
At the same time, few things are canon, as they are all theories from different holds. Just look at the Arcturian Heresy (spelling?), that contradicts many other sources.

But Mannanauts? Where did you read that?
I have seen it other places from other forumers, but where can I find this? An in-game book or something?

I went to my All TES source and no mention of Mannanauts and no Altmer Sunbirds either. So I am wondering if it is a joke on the posters part.
But about the OP, the two moons are cool.

Thank you sir, never boring to read TES lore. You know much of the lore, no? I tend to see you in these discussions often.

Ive been hooked on TES lore a long time now.
Its just so fascinating. I find the entire premise of the kind of universe that we believed in in the dreamtime of our species, a mythical universe where things happen not because of physics or mathematics but because of magic or belief, to be extremely interesting.
I find that the best way to deal with all lore that conflicts other lore to be to treat them all as being true.

Sorry to seems a bit rude here, but if you would have done a simple research on google or other search engines you should have founded the answer to your question more quickly

Yeah, it's cool. It was mainly the history of Nirn and the different Eras that got me hooked. History nerd here.
I find the Merethic and Mystic Eras to be much fascinating.

Also, their phanteons and lore behind all the different races is great. Imga, Sload, Akaviri, Nede, Uxhaal, Manmer, so much cool stuff. Daedra is beyond cool too.

I do not know why but when I learned about the Akaviri in Oblivion, I was instantly interested in them because of the cool name.
Btw, thanks for the post on the books about the guys that had been to the moons. I find it strange that UESP wiki did not find it. Maybe I needed the names of the books, instead. I know nothing about the others you have listed.
About the lore contradicting, I see it like in the real world, there are so many 'thoughts' on how the world was created that it is up to us to decide who/what we will believe. And in the TES lore it is the same way, we play as a certain character and we can follow what 'we' have been taught or we can follow what some other race has been taught, again up to us aka the character.
The book writers are good in TES, even if the game itself is buggy, the books are at least for me are interesting.

Don't worry too much about it, Bethesda will likely streamline it down to one moon in the next game.

I really doubt that.
Some things they will change or cut for the sake of gameplay, or limitations. But Todd would never have them remove the second moon, there is no sense or profit in that. All removals yet are for a reason, except for spellmaking.
The fact they absolutely had to reach 11.11.11 after all the hype ruined it.

I know it was probably a joke, but still. Why even hang about if you don't like the game?

Edit: Edited to make it more friendly, my last response was a bit hostile.

@stigwa, I was going to reply to his post too, but decided against it. Some people just can't help but be upset about something, his happens to be Skyrim or Bethseda itself.

You are quite anti-Bethesda aren't you? Seen your posts.

Spellmaking... that's the big one indeed, quite possibly the whole enchilada. I'd say the lack of Spellmaking is the root of most of Skyrim's problems from depth to balance. I am not "anti-Bethesda", I am just rabidly anti-lack-of-spellmaking and I'm going to continue to be.

If Spellmaking was in I would be playing much more and complaining much less. I'll be complaining until spellmaking returns.
