There's 2 moons in skyrim?!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 4:59 am

Okay, this is maybe off topic but, do you live on Masser or Secunda?
My question is it possible to live on either moon? Or is your question a joke?

Check the name of the poster I responed to, you'll get it then.

Spellmaking... that's the big one indeed, quite possibly the whole enchilada. I'd say the lack of Spellmaking is the root of most of Skyrim's problems from depth to balance. I am not "anti-Bethesda", I am just rabidly anti-lack-of-spellmaking and I'm going to continue to be.

If Spellmaking was in I would be playing much more and complaining much less. I'll be complaining until spellmaking returns.

I want that back too, but really? One missing feature and you ditch the rest of an incredible game? Sure, it might be streamlined and little worked on, but what is in is beautiful.
And I edited my post a bit back, I realised my response was a bit harsh. But why do you hang about then if you get so pissed you leave the game shelved for something like that?

Sorry to seems a bit rude here, but if you would have done a simple research on google or other search engines you should have founded the answer to your question more quickly
Oh come on! The op was right asking here; it makes a good conversation.

Sorry, I don't see your point. Unless you mean that searching the web for anything related to TES is better than asking here..?

Ha! Completely missed that! Well which one would be better?

The Bloodmoon. :drag:

But to Cicero, what's the point in the forums if not to ask stuff like this? I guess many of those Google searches directs the user to this forum, after all.

I had forgot about the Spellmaking from Oblivion. this is not on topic, but I can see what you mean. A mage is more than an enchanter and spell caster, he/she has to be able to make spells as well. I do wonder why they removed it, I didn't use it much in Oblivion but I can see where pure mage characters would want to be able to make their own. My characters have been Archers only and we "archers" have never been able to make our own arrows so I can't complain about them removing something I never had. Bethseda bring back Spellmaking and give us the ability to make our own arrows. thanks

It was removed because of issues it would create with the new casting system and by designer choice.

I played multiple mage-type characters in Oblivion and Morrowind, and I never used it much, because I never had any desire to create absurdly overpowered spells, or to tailor my fireball to only hit enemies within 12.45353 yards instead of 13.

Back on-topic: Yay for two moons!

Yeah, Yay for 2 moons. About spellmaking, I never had enough magicka to make long range or strong spells.

To make this brief:

http://kotaku.com/todd-howard/

"'We want to make the game better after it's out.' We don't know what that means yet. People will tell us. But maybe we want to rebalance it. Maybe we want to add some features and patch them in"

Anyone who wants spellmaking and anyone who liked spellmaking should be doing what I'm doing. Tell it to them over and over again.

It's called "being persistent". [I do understand it is also called being a PITA]

...I'm willing to be a persistent PITA if I have to.

...but ElanorGLF is right, so I'll save it for another thread.

Yes, I would say its accurate depiction of the aurbis, to the degree a two dimensional representation of infinite spheres nestled in infinite spheres can be.

Nirn in the middle, surrounded by the moons and planets, stars and sun.
Oblivion which holds the Daedric realms surrounding that.
Aetherius (which is linked to the sun) surrounding that.

There are also what is known as 'outer realms' and 'void stars' but I dont think its known where they should be placed.

What I am missing is the Is and the Is-Not, the Padomay and Anu, that should lie beyond the aurbis, and the aurbis itself being the place where these two intersect.

Morrowind was my first TES game. I noticed the two moons, but never really gave it much thought. They can make for some nice screenshots, expecially if there's an aurora.

EDIT: Here's a screenshot, only one moon in this pic, but its one of my favorites.

There are actually three moons in Morrowind, if you count that little moonlet hovering over Vivec.

Yes the two moons are called masser and secunda. Masser being the bigger of the 2.

A picture of my Breton, Sévérine (and passer-by) with the moon Secunda:

Understandable, but that ain't daylight you see in Mundus. Daytime is when you can see Aetherius, the magic leaking in through the hole Magnus tore, and night time is when you can see Oblivion, with smaller leaks through the void torn by the Magna Re that are known as stars. Light travels in straight lines here, but I assume magic from heaven doesn't necessarily travel in straight lines in Mundus.

M'aiq the Liar told me there was only one moon, so I never bothered to look up to notice.

Now I know why he is called M'aiq the Liar. :(
