Things that need adding to (or changing in) Skyrim…?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 3:39 am

Water vision, allows ya to see underwater properly, as even with waterbreathing potion or being Argonian, it's impossible to see deep the water. I also suggest more quests from Jarls court, that was lacking, all these people in his/her court, and you only get quests normally from Jarl, what?

To everyone, don't feed backstaber, as he's just flaming, so just ignore him.

I think that we're well past the time to change anything within the game. I feel that the only thing Bethesda could do at this point is add content with DLC's and do a little more optimizing on the performance side of the game.

In the meantime, what we can do is offer a "lessons learned" type of feedback from a player's perspective... but would the devs even read what we're offering?

Some of the line items that I would offer as feedback towards their next TES installment:

1. NPC greeting dialog must have more random elements (ie: a variety of things to say to you as you pass by them)
2. Guild quests need to be longer with a deeper storyline
3. Reduce/eliminate forced quests upon the player and/or give players the abilty to drop unwanted quests
4. Add a variety of Player-to-NPC dialog that satisfies a typical RP gamer.
5. Keep the "crafting" content but do not include them in the character leveling process

... just to name a few.

Whatcha think of these ideas then?

Sorry distracted by people who cant spell SHEPARD.

And yeah i like them, especially the Jarls court stuff. That was dull, the only interesting ones were 'The Wolf Queen' ones

This is the Prophecy of The Dragonborn:

1) When misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world
2) When the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped
3) When the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles
4) When the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls
5) When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding
6) The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.

1) refers to the 1st elder scrolls (ARENA), in which the staff of chaos is broken into 8 pieces and scattered around.
2) the events of Daggerfall
3)Morrowind, where the three self made dunmer gods lose their powers as the heart of lorkhan is destroyed, and red mountain goes boom
4) Oblivion - Septims dead, elves invade Imperial City
5) High king of Skyrim dead
6) Alduin is back, and the last dragonborn comes.

But... the Wheel. 'Wheel' is capitalised, meaning it refers to some elderscrolls lore, which is pretty deep stuff.

everything in elderscrolls is pre-planned, yes. The elderscrolls themselves tell of both the future and the past. This prophecy came from an elderscroll if i remember correctly...

I don't think Solitude really a snow tower, so need to think about this more.

http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/ONE_4af1d5_784673.jpg, while I understand (though don't necessarily agree with), the reasoning behind essential tags, take a look at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Essential_NPCs, and work out how many of these essential npcs you think are actually 'essential'.

"well what i meant is that if you became a jarl, then rose to the throne of skyrim or the empire."

Thought about this myself but, I can see a few problems.

From a lore perspective, the "hero" has to be for practical purposes unnamed. If that "hero" becomes Jarl, High King or Emperor, either from hereon in you could have an "unnamed" Jarl, High King or Emperor in the lore or you just pretend it never happened.

Then you run into what some might refer to as a "logic" problem.

If you're not playing a Nord, how "logical" would it be for you to become a Jarl or High King in Skyrim? Not sure how a, say, Khajit Jarl would go over with the local Nord populace, not to mention the flurry of "How can a Khajit become Jarl when they aren't allowed in the cities" threads that might pop up in the forum.
