Doing the quest line to get the Charger on my human Paladin... Oh wait. Wrong game.

I hate the guilt I feel from selling drugs and human meat to merchants, so I throw it into an undisclosed dumpster in the wastes.

The thing about the epilogue, at least for the Mr. House ending, it explains things over the years/decades. My problem is New Vegas ENDS at the main quest, there is nothing to make a 'aftermath DLC' for this. It dissapoints me deeply that people refuse to play a game if it doesnt let you play after you finish EVERYTHING :l

Agreed. I stopped the MQ after [insert verb]'d [insert name] at Hoover Dam. People sure liked me during the side quests though! :)

I'm not say I refuse to play it's just stupid. And it's not EVERYTHING, that is exactly why it is annoying.

You must refuse to read a book again after you get to the last page, huh?

LOL, hardly.

But after seeing all the outcry on the forums at the release of F3 and the subsequent Broken Steel extension, hearing that FNV ends at level 30 with no continuing play, makes me understand that we are being cynically exploited by a manipulative leech of a company. Granted they make good games, but I wonder if they would rob their grandmother's corpse sometimes.

Edit:

Perhaps that's a tad harsh...I should change it to 'charge entry to grandma's funeral'....

And then later revealed that her corpse wasn't in the casket and that you had to pay some extra to get it.

Not to mention they'd make you build your own chairs.

I despise starting the MQ and getting to New Vegas. You always have to take the long way around since the short way involves running through freakin' Deathclaw land.

I survived by using a stealth boy and navigating off the road, but still near it.

It's ages ago since you had to do that. Now you just purchase it from the trainer.

You all fail to realize that you could have been a tight ass and waited. Then bought it when the GOTY edition came along. Granted it's not like people knew it was gonna happen like that, but people that purchased the GOTY edition as a first time Fallout 3 buy got one hell of a deal. With that said, I don't mind paying for DLC. Although I did think that after Fallout 3 they would have given the option to continue after the MQ in New Vegas. I think it would have been pretty interesting to see how the immediate effects of your actions turned out, the little story is nice and all but would have been cool to actually play it.

Exactly. I just like to continue anologies. Makes me feel smart

But I expected Obsidian to learn from FO3. Well, I expected them to sympathize with the fan, not the fan's money. I don't mind paying for DLC either, I just expected more.

Yeah it's been about three years since I did that quest and about a year since I stopped playing the game altogether. I got robbed though... That quest may have been a pain but there was a definite sense of accomplishment from finally completing it. I was jazzed for about three days.

DLC is the new form of "expansion packs".

These are terms used when charging people for half-assed content that was purposely left out of the original package. If the stuff was anywhere near as polished as original titles they might be worth getting......although goty editions are still a good deal!

There's an explanation from Sawyer, I believe, floating around out there about why the game has a definitive ending. They felt like they couldn't do justice to what the ending-slides say happens in-game after you've beaten it, so they ended it rather than opening themselves up to "WELL YOU SAID X, Y, AND Z HAPPENED AND I DIDN'T SEE ANY OF THAT AT ALL!"

Also, the Brotherhood of Steel won't give you power armor training because they don't want you using power armor. Or anything. You are a simpleton and your tiny, simian, Wastelander brain can't be trusted around all that pre-War technology. They were pretty much massive ******bags the first two games, and I was glad to see Obisidian return them to their roots in New Vegas.

Agree. Same as with everything in that game now (well, last I played it, which was also a year or so ago). It also bugged me how they were willing to completely sell out for hard cash. When people started to complain they regretted choosing their characters gender, I joked that no doubt Blizz would see a hole in the market and sell genderchanges. I was not thinking they actuallly would, but eventually that's exactly what they did. World of Cashcraft, bleh.

No kidding! I can't believe they made the same mistake FO3 did.

Good thing it wasn't a mistake then.

Marketing ploy, I see DLC which unlocks the game after the MQ in the future.

Impossible.

Unless they release a series of DLC:
"DLC #1 - The story continues after an NCR finish"
"DLC #2 - The story continues after a Caesar's Legion finish"
etc,
etc,
etc.

The way NV ends makes it impossible to continue without altering the world in big ways. Much moreso than Fallout 3's "Oh, hey - clean water!".

Especially with the way that, in doing the finish, you commit to one of the main questlines (locking out all the others), and so many quests are mutually exclusive (Oh, you finished Quest X this way? You can't do Quests Y or Z.)

Thing I hated to do in my first playthrough - blowing up

Things I hate to do... (I guess I don't have to)... read through 2.5 pages of people complaining about greedy developers (I know they're not in it for a profit, rather to enrich our lives) just to actually see what things are a chore/annoyance in the game. Are we really complaining that this game has a definitive end, just like we've been told all along? Are we really upset that this game limits us to the maximum level of 30, achievable in FO3 only by purchasing DLC? Do we really need to be upset about DLC that hasn't come out? If you feel that you're being bilked, don't buy it. Or wait for GOTY. I got all of the DLC for under $20 (sprung full price for BS). I get voicing your displeasure, but I'd rather see some DLC than just have the devs wash their hands of a game and move to the sequel (Madden 95-Infinity style).

OK, I'm off my soap box. Puts on Advanced Rad suit.

I survived by using a stealth boy and navigating off the road, but still near it.

The one in the trailer with the dead caravan which triggers the powder gangers? Almost enticing you to use it?

I did too...but I strayed too far off and was shot at by a Mutant from Black mountain. Luckily I ran into some fire ants and some fiends and problem basically took care of itself.

Another thing I hate to do?

I felt similar. Even when they're attacking you, if you damage them they will sometimes cower and put their paws over faces as they hunch down - it's so cute!

...right up until I seperate their head from their bodies, skin them, and eat them. :(

My puppy does the same thing that the geckos do. I'm also in the Hate Killing Geckos group.

I sure hope it's a marketing ploy. I mean, right when I learned that it ended there I knew they did it for DLC, plus I thought they let it continue, so I went and did that first.

But I heard/read that DLC continuing the story was not projected or planned - that the scale of which side you went with had too much overall effect and difference on the game per individual, that they wouldn't be able to construct any continuation correctly.

It's not a marketing ploy. The first two Fallouts had hard endings and world impact slideshows. It's all very "Fallout".

Running back and forth for quests in freeside and camp mccarren. And the return to sender quest...although in the END it was well worth it.

But that logic fails when there are two main camps (aside from the neutral crowd)

You have the oldbies, or people who started with Fallout 3, and have to come to understand a definitive ending and accept it.

Then you have the 'OMG I CAN'T KEEP BEING A GOD IN THE WASTELAND WITH MY L30 ANTI-MATERIAL RIFLE POWER ARMOR GUY' people, who think walking around with nothing better to do than be a stupid [censored] is a great thing.
