Things you hate to do.

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:26 am

I hate that I have to do a handful of certain quests to get Achievements. But I'm an achievement [censored], so it's gotta be done.

Then you have the 'OMG I CAN'T KEEP BEING A GOD IN THE WASTELAND WITH MY L30 ANTI-MATERIAL RIFLE POWER ARMOR GUY' people, who think walking around with nothing better to do than be a stupid [censored] is a great thing.

In other words: the Grand Theft Auto crowd.

Having to leave all your weapons and loseing your hot keys.

This.... Far too many examples of this being forced on the player.... How many times have I forgotten and run into combat just to produce my wimpy little fists instead of a gun?

Why can't they just stay away from the ending? That's what I did in FO3 so that I can explore every single inch of it....

I wouldnt say that, since I like GTA, and I've seen a few other GTA players who dont behave that way xD

Edit: @Valkebus- Because logic is not tolerated on these forums.

I hate the time scale, fortunately I can change it through the console, 30 times is just way too fast, makes the nights too short and that's the best time to go hunting, especially with Fellout installed.

I hate the NCR.
I hate the Legion.
I pull the plug on Mr House everytime.
Hmmm, does not leave me many options, just the way I like it!

I don't like Volare or Still In the Dark. These were just time spent and not much gained. Oh yay, the boomers and BoS accept me.. But that was about it.

I mean you don't even get Power Armor training! Come on.

no you do from the BoS....go talk to the leader of the bos... and if you didnt see that before than its your fault lol

The thing about the epilogue, at least for the Mr. House ending, it explains things over the years/decades. My problem is New Vegas ENDS at the main quest, there is nothing to make a 'aftermath DLC' for this. It dissapoints me deeply that people refuse to play a game if it doesnt let you play after you finish EVERYTHING :l

Dude I died at the end of FO:3... They retconned that easy enough.

I hate having to do this as when I do complete the MQ I can't come back and explore for anything I missed and just randomly chill in the Vegas wasteland. So now I am a level 30 killing machine who will piss through the rest of the MQ with no real consequence as I can pretty much now wipe out anything single-handedly.
I have 50 quests completed, 169 locations discovered and I still haven't ventured into Vegas or been to see Benny yet. The thought of the MQ now just seems complete meh, as I have become that distant from it.

And I hate it when you have to reassign your hotkeys too.

Heh, I thought I was the only one, on my third character at lvl 11, but I've been wandering the wasteland and scavanging so much that I have an arsenal of weapons stored, several thousand caps and more food than my character would need for the entire game, who needs vegas when you got the riches of the wasteland, the MQ is secondary to my play.

I hate going into Radiated places. Even though I have a radation suit thing. I also hate killing the baby coyotes, they're so cute.

You must refuse to read a book again after you get to the last page, huh?

That's not the point though. The point is it's a feature that was a key part of the Fallout series in 1 and 2. Added only thanks to outrageous popular demand and they **DIDN'T LEARN**.

People who are ranting about not being able to continue after doing the main quest.... really? You could do it in fallout 2, but I found it to be pointless and fallout 3 it didn't matter to me because 75% of the content is just wandering around shooting things anyway. You can not experience 100% of everything in FO NV even if you continued after the MQ was over because there are so many different ways to go through the game.... FO3 every character was the same so, ya,, it did svck to have to start over I guess.

^^^This^^^^

And getting half way through a vault or large building and having your character and companions totally encumbered with loot. Have to travel all the way back to drop-off or sell loot then have to travel all the way back to continue. I understand the reasoning behind it but it's annoying just the same :banghead:

Fell into that trap on FO3. I got to the point that I'd rather just live out in the wastes than worry about the MQ. Making an attempt to progress the story in FNV on occasion so I don't lose interest. Of course, I'll be keeping a Last Save so after I finish the MQ, I can still just hang out with my uber character.

And add me to the Gecko/Coyote lover crowd.... Animal Friend at level 10.

I hated giving up all my weapons to the casinos every time I went inside. It was just annoying.

I hate having to explore Vaults, especially Vault 34! 34 is terrible for many reasons: constant radiation, dark lighting, ghouls---lots of them, a convoluted layout, and did I mention ghouls? I feel as though I might panic when playing through these 23rd century dungeons and can't stand the oppressive feel of them.

I also hate having to spend a lot time on inventory management. Don't get me wrong, I love having an inventory to mess around with.....I'm just a procastinator and sometimes indecisive which can make inventory management a big pain in the butt.

walk through about 5 doors with loading screens to talk to one person for like 30 seconds then walk out all the same doors again. i've had to do this SO many times. it doesn't bother me normally but during my 5 hour playstreaks it gets incredibly annoying.

But that logic fails when there are two main camps (aside from the neutral crowd)

You have the oldbies, or people who started with Fallout 3, and have to come to understand a definitive ending and accept it.

That is a very narrow view especially considering the scope of things. The MQ isn't the only thing to do in thew game and it isn't really any more impressive than any other questline. Therefore just because you completed the MQ doesn't mean you did everything.

I spent 2 hours searching for the cursed key to the armory, i was playing late at night so i was slightly tired and i can't recall where i got the key in the end, meaning i will have to do the same long run for it when i try it on the next playthrough...

Stopping playing after the MQ.

This. So many things I still had yet to do on my first playthrough. Now I will go and do those things my 2nd playthrough.
