Things you saw in your childhood that you still haven't been

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:27 pm

The title may not have been clear, but the purpose of this thread is to share experiences where you swear you saw something in your childhood that no one else in the world would believe, except you and anyone else that may have been with you when you saw it. Mine was when I swear I saw a dead monkey in the woods, but not even my younger brother would believe me. My parents wouldn't let me go back since it was someone else's private property, but I know what I saw.

When I was younger, I was in my backyard at night with a sparkler. Swear I saw the image of someone walking away. Could of been the sparkler, but it wasn't a clear, bright yellow I saw. It was like.. pale white. Which isn't cause by that.

I was 12 years old and we went on a camping trip, and I had wandered away from the camp site, and came to a pond.

I swear in that lake, I saw a baby with bleeding wrists. I know it sounds like a horror movie or completely [censored], but I can still see it in my head. My mom did believe me however when I told her about it, and when we went back to the pond, nothing was there.

Me and a couple of guys were playing air soft in the woods, and as I was behind cover I heard leaves rustling like someone was walking so I pop up and a couple of yards from me was an older guy in camo walking through the woods, then he just fades away.

We searched the woods for awhile, but didn't find anything.

When I was in a car with the windows up when I was young, I swore I saw a bee the size of a football just outside of my window a couple feet away from my window. It flew away. Then I was a little bit older, my bigger brother and I swore we saw a spaceship in the sky at night.

When I was round 7 or 8 yrs old, we were visiting my Aunt and Uncle and while dinner was cooking, my uncle starting hollering to us to "Come out and look at this thing!" We all went outside and he was crouched near the base of a tree. What we saw was what I can only describe as a living baked ziti noodle. It was yellow-ish with a coating of "red slime" and it moved like a grub. Overall it was around four inches long, and it was tubular, again like a ziti noodle, and it had no discernible "head" or "tail." I've studied all things natural nearly my entire life and have never come across anything remotely like what I saw that day. I only regret not capturing it and taking it to a college or extension office to get it checked out. Come to think of it, why didn't the advlts at the time even take a picture?...

Once in a market, my brother and I heard a terrible scream. When I asked my parents had they heard it they responded with no. It wasn't a scream one could easily miss though.

It was probably that alien slug from the movie "Slither."

Once, when I was little, I had a tooth under my pillow in an envelope for the Tooth Fairy to come get it. At some point that night, I woke up and found all of my blankets hovering about six feet over my bed with nothing holding them up there. When I screamed bloody-murder for my mom, the blankets dropped back on my bed, just as she was opening the door. Now, if that wasn't crazy enough, the envelope with my tooth inside was missing, and there was a dollar under my pillow.

This next one, I didn't see personally, but I was there when it happened. I was at a friend's house for a sleepover, and we were playing a "Whodunit" type of game with his parents and little sister (who was maybe 7 years old at the time). All of a sudden, she started screaming, crying, throwing random things, and generally going insane. The game was called off, and when her parents were frantically asking her what was wrong, all she did was scream "Leave me alone," and ran out of the house, down the street. Later, my friend and I asked her what her tantrum was all about and she explained to us that a man, with devil-red skin, long yellow finger and toenails, horns, completely white eyes, a creepy smile, and a horrible laugh, was running across the ceiling on his hands screaming her name, with his head spinning around in circles. We both believe her to this day. That's not something that a little kid would randomly make up, and they definitely could not fake the same kind of fear that she had.

Cause it's goo, not water. Imagine your lungs filled with slimy mud and see how well you are then.

When I was very young, I remember looking out of the window in the front door of my uncle's house and seeing this horrible face in a white hockey mask suddenly appear. I flipped out and ran screaming through the house. Of course, when I took my uncle over to investigate, the masked man was gone. No doubt it was some neighborhood punk trying to scare people.

...the blood i found all over my walls when i got back from a 2 week vacation...

 Well... That's certainly not something you expect to find. I would have flipped out and called the police. And then moved away.

And way once I did find a frosted cold sphere sitting on a tray on our deck once, I have no idea what it was and it really was freezing I had to wrap it in a towel to carry back in side

I seen a gator in the backyard when I was 9. We lived next to a lake at the time. I thought it was going to break down the door and get me so I boarded up the door. My parents were pretty mad I ruined the door frame nailing down bookshelves. :nope:

My dad used to take me to the park when I was 5 or 6. To get to this park you needed to go through a forest. At the end of this forest off to the right side of the path was a very old car just sitting there. It must've been from the 50's or something because it had worn out white wall tires and all.

Anyways, back when I was a teenager, I was running around in the forest with my friends and asked them if they had ever seen the car before? (It had disappeared) and they had no idea what I was talking about so I brought them to the spot I thought it was at. We found some rusty springs, scrap metal, a tire (with white walls) and shoes.

I asked my dad about it a couple years ago and he denies ever seeing a perfectly intact car in the forest when I was younger...

Greh, don't even get me started on the mythical creatures I saw when I was little. How about something the size of a mountain, that seemed to be dancing? Even as a kid, I was wondering if I was sane. When Lovecraft wrote, "A mountain walked or stumbled," I knew what he was talking about.

Then there are the shadow people of Boca Raton. Well, look. Florida has an interesting mythology. http://www.miaminewtimes.com/1997-06-05/news/myths-over-miami/ some [censored] other, more insane kids saw (try not to discuss religion). Me, I just saw the shadow people. Running around. Faster than anything should rightly move.

Then there were the Hell insects. I was certain they came from Hell. I woke up in the middle of the night to find them crawling all over my night light. Called in my parents to kill them. It was NOT a dream, they even said I came to them to have them kill... a roach. They didn't remember the pallid, biting insects that crawled all over my nightstand.

I'm still bad with hallucinations, mostly because my eyes are so bad. Here's a fun experiment for you normals. Get in a dimly lit room (pretty dim but you should still be able to see) with a mirror. Stare at the mirror for twenty minutes, and gaze upon the visages you see. That happens to me INSTANTLY when I look at a mirror that's been darkened. Once, I'm pretty sure I had a little too much medicine for my cold, because I saw a far more lucid hallucination in the mirror than usual. My face rotted away. Indiana Jones ain't got nothin' on that [censored].

So pretty much whenever it's dark my eyesight is so faulty I see things that aren't there. I've actually seen the Slenderman on a few occasions (I didn't know you had family in Colorado, Turns-the-Page. :P).

Once in Britanny, around St Cast, at the beach of La Fresnay, I was playing in some ponds left by the tide. In a tiny pond, I saw a snake. Not a worm with hair but a snake, red, blue and white. I knew snake already as we were playng with glass snake (in fact a lizard without leg) in the countryside in France. This one was really multicolor and smooth. The animal hid in some rock crack and I wasn't able to catch it. I might have been around 9.

I heard also some at the same period some kind of poltergeist but I now think it was the wall of the house adjusting.

I remember I was sick for about a week and my fever was pretty high. I look out the door window to my backyard and I see a man in a suit with his hands in his pockets just starring at me with a snarl/smile and when I called for my mom, he vanished.

A day after my bird died, I was in my living room when I saw this white orb shaped like a bird fly across the living room behind my couch and when I ran over there, nothing was there. The strange thing is my cousin died that same month and my mom said at night she could hear chirping and a baby doing his usual baby happy thing. I didn't believe her till I experienced it when my second bird died this past summer. I heard his chirps and a happy baby.

Being hispanic, we have some weird traditions. One thing my god mother does when we are sick is she practices the works of a curandera. One thing is to be naked, lay in a bed, and then the "doctor" rubs an egg across your body. When she did that to me, it cracked open and the yolk was green. My aunt did it to my cousin when he was sick and when she was done, the egg became hot and it was cooked. It's some weird [censored] that I have no idea how it happens.
