Things you saw in your childhood that you still haven't been

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:43 am

For me it's not things i've seen, but rather things i've heard. To make a long story short my father died when I was 3 in the house i'm living in right now. When I was 6 to 8 years old I would sometimes hear someone whispering my first name to me like they were calling me. Turning around I would see no one standing there and when I would look there was no one there. One time I swore that I saw a shadow going into the bathroom, but that may have been my eyes playing tricks on me.

Weirdest instance that has happened recently was when I was fishing something out of the pool. Don't know why, but I started detecting the strong presence of cologne/after shave that would be used by a male person. Learned later on that my father would always wear a strong aftershave so it kind of got me thinking about him.

I can't explain why I cried so little as a kid. I'd get scraqes, cuts, bruises, rock tossing fights, and even fallen on my neck from heights at least 3x as tall as me on more than one occasion. Back then I'd dust myself off and keep going, now I'd stand up and create a few new cuss words and probably do something likehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbeBr3X_hcg&feature=related

Yes, that is correct. I was a girl. I am now a puffer fish. A puffer fish who is able to type, and has a grasp of the English language. Where have you been this whole time?

Yeeeeap. If by 'special' you mean 'lucky to avoid being molested and/or shot by creepy hill-dwelling pot farmers'. >.>

And that was not something which you thought you could mention as being a thing which you aren't able to fully explain?

If that is the case, pray explain it to us. *cosily sits back, crosses hands and waits for the show to start* :hehe:

12 at night, me and my friends were playing Manhunt in the woods, I swear I saw a hooded figure walk behind me as I looked over my shoulder, I did a double take and it was gone.

And In the ocean in Miami, Florida I felt a smooth animals slither between my legs, thinking it was a shark I ran away, but I was only about 10 feet out at that point so I don't think it could have been a shark.

I'm still bad with hallucinations, mostly because my eyes are so bad. Here's a fun experiment for you normals. Get in a dimly lit room (pretty dim but you should still be able to see) with a mirror. Stare at the mirror for twenty minutes, and gaze upon the visages you see. That happens to me INSTANTLY when I look at a mirror that's been darkened. Once, I'm pretty sure I had a little too much medicine for my cold, because I saw a far more lucid hallucination in the mirror than usual. My face rotted away. Indiana Jones ain't got nothin' on that [censored].

I've had mirroraphobia ever since I watched the horror film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirrors_(film), I always think I'm going to pull my jaw apart :/

Oh I forgot this one, My Uncle whom I was very close to died this past June, we had been connected on Facebook as friends and one night I got a message from his account saying "Let your soul stay at peace" or something like that, then soon after my bedroom light turned on, then off, then on, then off again. I was too freaked out to get out of my bed so I texted my brother, he told me to delete him of my friends list. I later figured out that my dad recently installed wireless light switch thingies, and one of them was the same frequency as mine, i dunno who turned that one on and off and on and off though. The facebook thing was never explained though.

Edit: Got another one, I'm sure this can be scientifically explained, but I was 7, just moved into a new house (the one I'm in now) and I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor with nothing else in the room. I woke up in the middle of the night and the room seemed zoom away like it was a couple hundred feet wide. I got up and as soon as I got both feet up I collapsed, I couldn't find the energy to stand up so I crawled back to my bed and started crying until my mom ran in and everything zoomed back.

Also, my mom told me that when I was young I used to cry during my sleep and she would have to shake me for minutes until I woke up. And when I was 12 I woke up in a puddly of blood on my pillow, apparently I had a major nosebleed during the night and I was very very dizzy and lightheaded when I woke up. And, again according to mother, i was a major sleep walker, and one night I walked into my mom and dads room and just stood and stared at them for like 20 minutes, and once I walked to the kitchen sink and sat in it

There was one wide, flat rock near the edge of the uppermost waterfall. I used to sit on it and use it as a platform to catch salamanders. Every so often, when I'd go for a visit, I'd find things that had been left there: a handful of polished river rocks (I still have the perfect skipping rock I found there); a raven's feather; little arrangements of flower petals.

That is weird, because about a week ago, I had a dream where I went to a place like that and arranged feathers and petals in patterns on a big rock.

then he handed me the carot and said "GIVE THIS TO BRENT FOR ME" and i was like "how did you know my cousin brent was here today?" and then he ran off. i burned the carrot in my fireplace

We lived near a complex with a gate leading into a courtyard surrounded by apartment buildings. Once, while driving past there, I caught a glimpse of...something standing in the middle of the courtyard. It kind of looked like a cartoon man, it's hard to describe. It had a huge nose and had the shininess of plastic or polished stone. The first thing I thought was that it was a statue. From then on, every time we drove by there I would look in to see if it was back, but I never saw it again. I can't think of anything that would explain it.

the same weekend, i found a couple dead cats in the woods, chances are the local children killed them for fun

What the hell kind of a neighborhood did you live in?

This thing actually got me thinking about a time I was at a summer camp as a child. My oldest brother was a councilor and this was all around the fourth of July. There were some cooking fires all around and there were plenty of kids running back and forth from the river. I ended up hearing that they were all gathering "river rocks" (pebble sized) and throwing them into the fire, watching them explode. I was confused. A few of my friends that were doing it explained that there was moisture in the rocks, and in the fire it expanded and caused the rocks to explode.

Turns out my brother was throwing leftover firecrackers into random fire pits.

When I was 6 years old or so I saw something that really freaked me out.

I was playing in my room with my toys, when I turned around and saw a black figure(and I mean BLACK, not just black clothing but black) standing by the window. He seemed to have some sort of hat on, and long and sharp fingernails, but the creepiest part was that the only visible part of his face was two glowing red eyes. He just said "run" and I did, I ran screaming to my mom. When we came back up to my room there was nothing there, but the window was open: a second story window that I was never physically able to open(it was nearly painted shut, and besides they didn't want me falling out of the window) and that didn't have a way up.

I honestly have no freakin' clue what it was.

I have only one though it could be couinsidence. It seems that a lot of the time when I just make random predictions in conversation without really thinking about it it 90 percent of the time comes true. but when i do think about it it doens't. weird been that way my whole life.

This is a very weird topic O.o

But I like it. When I was about 2 years old my mother and I were driving behind a napa auto parts truck going through Kansas City, Missouri. At first I was looking through the window, listening to my Sesame Street(?) Tape but I soon looked in front of me to see what looked to be a head completely turned around giving me the scariest smile I had ever seen. I shouted so loud my mom almost got into a car accident. I saw it the hole time until the truck was out of site. That memory has always stayed in my head. I have no idea how to explain it.

I just remembered something else that was odd, from when I was a kid.
I must have been about... oh, I don't know, ten at the time. It was dark out, and I'd gone into my bedroom to look for something (I don't remember exactly what). For whatever reason, I didn't bother to turn the light on. I was about a foot away from my bed when something seemed to fall from above- I heard a soft 'thump', a slight jingling sound, and then the patter of feet as something ran past me. It had come from the vicinity of the ladder up to the loft area, and sounded as if it were about the size of a cat.
The problem was, I only had one cat. And she was currently asleep on the sofa downstairs- I'd gone past her on the way to my room, and she hadn't even budged.
Needless to say, I shrieked like a banshee and immediately turned the light on (the switch wasn't far away).
There was nothing there. And nothing lying on the floor that might have fallen and simply sounded like pattering feet.
I did not want to go to bed that night, let me tell you.
