I think this Bandit cheated…. : V

So here I am playing a thief/assassin and my companion and I decided to take on this fort with bandits.
To make a long story short, this regular bandit, equipped with a long bow and Elven arrows, somehow managed to one shot my character.

Being level 50 with 340 health points, my jaw dropped at the screen, followed by some colorful swearing. I thought, OK, maybe it was a critical, but still to me that doesn’t make sense. I reloaded the game and the same jerk did it again. He finally died after a third time.

Has anyone run into this issue or an issue similar?

Yes, happened to me once, when I was level 28, it was jaw-dropping, that's for sure...

It has to be a glitch because no bandit has arrows that strong.

It is very frustrating, especially when you do not even have time to drink a health potion or use a healing spell. Then look around and go "WTF just happened?"

Its times like these I wish the game had a combat log because I am curious to know how much they hit me for and then do the math.

Oh it happens, archery and destruction most noticeably.

They are capped at a max of level 50 for mobiles, but they can do insane amounts of damage in comparison to a player at that level.

Thankfully these instances are few and far between, and I sort of like that.

Don't get comfortable, there's always something in Skyrim that can hand your [censored] to you.

I've had bandits kill me with four arrows before, and that was jaw-dropping enough as it was. One would be incredible.

I've run into this same issue. I was ploughing through a bandit den as a werewolf when I got turned into a two-arrow pincushion. Those things hurt!

OT but i find it funny when their low life and say " I surrender! I Surrender! " but when they get up they attack you again lol, its like " didn't you learn the first time boy? "

All it is, is higher leveled enemies get boosted damage above an beyond what they can normally do.

i've had the same problem with draugr-wearing full legendary daedric and with 430 health at level 52 a restless draugr one shots me

I can one-shoot severaly types of enemies with bow and sword. I can one-shot giants with a dual-wield sneak attack.

So IMHO it's fair that playes can be one-shotted as well.

A boss level ice-mage once three-shot me to death.

Seeing that I was one-shotting his underlings, I find it to be very highly probable that they're cheating :confused:

But one shot would be incredible, yes, my jaw would certainly escape the room and leave my brain there

340 health and what armor rating?

Because 340health with full armor is effective 1700health. Or, the other way around, he would do only 68 damage to you with full armor, which is realistic.

Use a shield. One of the blocking perks mean no damage is dealt at all by arrows hitting you with your shield raised.

This has happened to me. I was open jaw for a moment while I pondered what had just happened - I reloaded and proceeded to clear the camp, barely taking any damage, and tossed the incident up as a bug.

I do use a shield.

Oh lord, I'll have to explain what happened.

I was in sneak and so was my companion. She alerted the guards (like a moron), well they did not see me, I was doing sneak shots. Then for some reason one of the other bandits spotted me. I stood up, took my sword and sheild out and the next thing I knew I was dead. From full health to dead.

No time to heal, no time to cast a spell, no time to protect myself...DEAD as a door nail. And when I came back to kill the bandits again, the same a-hole archer one-shot me dead with one hit.

204 AR and wearing circlets is way too low, for lvl50 power striking archers, and anyone else tbw. I have 240AR on level24, and have problems with damage. Health alone is not a enough to survive. You need 667AR, or 557 if wearing no clothing. That would reduce that archers damage by a factor of 4. And he will not oneshot anymore. Its math yes.

well.. full armor rating is easy to get, enchant some. But for now at least put a helmet on, you probably were EYEshotted. :biggrin:

A simple helmet will add at least 50armor (25 of which are hidden bonus). And, and since we are talking about bugs and stuff, i seem to remember, that block is not checked, if that shot would kill you anyway, so thats why blocking him is useless.

Coz I don't think the original Nightingale brings out the chest. (and the false cape looks crappy as hell)

My... "new" nightingale armor (with killer keos' mod) looks infinitely better than vanilla. some because it looks like standard fantasy female armor (human skin = impenetrable armor) but also because it is capeless
