You don't have to check all the features of M ratings to be rated M. Bethesda is soft on the six part because that's not what interrest them to develop in their universe. Conan's universe is more turned around six. Maybe they are bored about our society turning everything around six, especially marketing, and don't feel the urge to add it in their games if that doesn't add anything worth the polemic.

The M is well earned though. Desicated and burned corpses, decapitation, blood, murders, torture (hello Molag Bal)... there are some dungeons where children shouldn't adventure. There really horrible scenes implying a gloomy violence when that's not from the characters themselves. One murder, if caught = 1000 gold coins. Enjoy the moral it implies.
It's rated M because there are shocking scenes and you have to be mature enough to take distance with the violence and the raw moral of this game.

Where the nudity?
If this games rated M i wanna at least see some [censored].
For some reason bethesda is very anti-nudity. I mean, there doesnt have to be six or anything like in the Ballad of Gay tony in GTA4, but seriously, I dont think EVERYONE would have the same corresponding bikini / loin cloth in the whole world. Decapitations, talk of [censored], and burnt corpses are fine, but GOD forbid there be some skin being shown.

As far as nudity, run to the mods, lol. Seriously, in addition to the areas mentioned above (gore, mutilation, etc.) I think another reason for the M is the advlt situations and conclusions in the game. I mean consider the tradtional children's game: the hero has adventures, kills the bad guys, saves the princess, and everyone lives happily ever after. Here we have Stormcloaks v. Empire: they're both equally corrupt and neither represent a morally "good" choice (for you Americans, this should sound familiar, lol). The Companions have you beating up people; the Thieves guild has you framing them and the Dark Brotherhood has you killing them! You would never see this in Zelda, lol, hence the M rating.

Still, its a bit ludicrous that everyone has the same undergarments, whoever made those is one rich mo fo.

I agree it got that because of the graphic violence. Simple enough.

Graphic violence? Where is the grafic violence? This thing is for kiddies for anyone who has watched Elfen Lied and Genocyber...

didn't they get some trouble over the ratings with oblivion? maybe better to get the m rating and be safe. besides, having nudity in games like this feels out of place if you ask me.

M means mature, not six/drugs/violence 24/7. Some of the dialogues in skyrim have strong advlt themes, such as Saphires life prior to the thieves guild. Some of the scenes are graphic in some depictions of violence (decaps), some of the choices we have in the game are of an advlt and mature nature.

M means advlt and mature content. Not everyones running around naked 24/7 killing one another and having graphic six.

And in any case its rated as a 15 in the UK, as its mild in its depictions to us.

Indeed. But like some many forums these days, people love bringing up the same point over and over again.

The combat has blood, impaling enemies and possible decapitations. I haven' seen Genocyber but Elfen Lied is most certainly NOT for kiddies.

i dont know any kiddies that i think could handle elfen lied  , skyrim does have graphic violence but that is not enough to be labeled mature i think, since pretty much everyone has been desensitized to violence, i would say skyrim is really teen at it's most horrible

Soooooooooooooooo gratuitous violence and talk of RA PE is fine, and bodies impaled on spears is fine, but showing what nature intended, is not. I love society. I can hear the conversation between the parent and the child now.

Mom : " Now billy, its ok to cut peoples heads off and r a pe things, and impale people, and curse, but showing bodies is bad"

Makes total sense.

Because watching someone's head roll down a hill isn't as traumatizing as seeing briasts at 13 years old.

Yep, it's today's thinking for you, violence is excepted, nudity is not.

We in the UK have that thinking but yes because of our PC thinking, countries in mainland Europe are more forgiving and open when it comes to nudity. Doesn't matter anyway, games are a scapegoat for real problems because they cannot fix the real issues.

Normally, shying away from nudity and other related subjects wouldn't bother me, but in this case it does a bit because it wasn't always like that. I came into the Elder Scrolls games with Daggerfall, and it had nudity and references to six all over the place (go read its version of The Real Barenziah sometime), and it worked out well and seemed to make sense rather than being dumped in just for the help-15-year-old-boys-get-off factor.* Once Morrowind came along, however, the next two games started going down the road of bowing to certain small but vocal sets of society that I shall not name here, and wiping out almost all concept of sixuality; Skyrim's actually a bit of a step in the right direction in that regard.

In fact, I first played Daggerfall back when I was nine and, and I don't seem scarred from all that advlt stuff, do I?... wait, don't answer that.

*Battlespire... well, things may be a bit different there, that's a bit more borderline.

Quite the statement about a society's warped priorities, if simple nudity is so bad but a public beaheading or 2 is nothing noteworthy.

Don't you know? nipbles are evil.
