This game is way too easy!

You should get a PC. Then you would have saved a lot of time by just opening the console and typing in TGM - god mode.

Erm why is there a cap ? isnt then the armor perk bonus and armor upgrades kinda useless when u hit endgame armor crafting?

There is a cap so that people can use whatever armour they want, within reason. You can hit the cap beginning with steel armour I believe.

Armour is really a cosmetic option. Lots of people dont like how ugly daedric is, and want something more normal looking, so the cap means they can use whatever armour they want without being gimped.

Orcish armour for orcs, elven armour for elves etc etc. Roleplaying.

This happens ALL the time,

So when I played "The Sims 3", it didn't even have a hardcoe difficulty level, thats stupid, games are about challenge, and the sims 3 is just too damn easy. So I made a couple, but I used her to do all the cleaning and work, so I could level up all my skills to maximum, especially authoring as the royalties PWNS standard career income, its COMPLETELY UNBALANCED cos you can stay at home too! What the hell were the Sims developers thinking!?!. I like totally bought the most expensive house and car within a day of playing and beat the Sims 3. They should patch that broken mess of a game with some balancing mods. I paid good money, I shouldn't be able to complete the game in one day.

or.... you could chill out and take a long hard look at yourself. Your call.

I don't wana get into another arguement, and you made good points. The one thing I think is funny though is that Skyrim isn't actually too much of an RPG.. so they can't really use that excuse anymore...

Well it's definitely more tailored to people who want an immersive experience rather than an intellectual excercise in build creation, like you might enjoy in Diablo.

People know what ES is like before they buy it, that's why they buy it. Skyrim has a lot of new fans though, new and confused fans.

Yeah it's better than Diablo (imo) definitely. But comparing Skyrim to Morrowind... Skyrim is much more focused on combat etc over an immersive experience.. But that isn't the arguement I guess. And Everyone has differing opinions..

Well done, you have approached an Elder Scrolls game as if you were playing warcraft professionally. You win....something.

in other words, despite your impeccable minmaxing, you have no idea how to play these games.

Mean, but OH SO TRUE.

It's because youre making the game easy for you by focusing on smithing and enchanting. Using them you can get the best items in the game pretty easily

Actually I'm quite ashamed of my meaness. We should probably have tried to help the guy.

Maybe he could be helped, like asked why his warrior would be using enchanting, if the question made no sense to him we could explain the concept of roles, self imposed limitations etc. Some might view imposing restrictions on your character as weak design. I personally understand that with a hugely flexible multiclassing system, there will be hundreds of loopholes to exploit, the trick is just to pick the stuff you want and build a character that is as powerful as you want it to be.

I thought you were suppose to be able to play this game the way you want to, so there is no ''wrong way'' of playing it, [censored]

There's definitely a wrong way if you're playing it and not enjoying it.

Difficulty is a hard thing to balance. If it's too hard, it isn't fun...but if it's too easy it isn't fun either. However, I believe the current difficulty settings we have now are largely superfluous.

In my opinion the difficulty should have gone:

1. adept
2. expert
3. master
4. master+
5. master++

4. master+
5. master++
6. munchkin
7. munchkin+
8. munchkin++
9. exploit only

I added a couple, your list was incomplete

If they made it difficult enough for people who max out all of their offensive skills they'd just be forcing a particular play style on every player.

Not really. It would be the way it should be, sub-optimal characters would simply be relegated to the appropriate difficulties. And even then, I am sure players would still find ways to meet the challenge.

I used to min-max my characters, even though it made no sense at all that my toon knew how to enchant things, until I took an arrow to the knee...

I, unlike those above me, want to congratulate you for beating Skyrim. You obviously have a great deal of skill in playing video games, and I'd like to know as you're quite experienced at these video games, what's next? I'll probably need a new game to play once I beat this game some time in 2013, and I'd like to hear your opinion.

TIA.

I am only lv 54 ...... I would expect this if I was at level 81 but at 54.

I'll ignore the "ok, so you Super Ultra Monster MinMax Powergamed your character" comments, they've been covered.

I'll just talk about what I've quoted above. Something you might like to know - the game is balanced around hitting level 50 as a "high level" character. The world and enemy scaling stops there. So at level 54, you're already above the game's power curve. At 81, you'd be way, way, way beyond it.

This is mostly because of the way the character leveling works - you can only hit lv81 with every skill at 100. Since most "normal" characters won't have nearly that many skills extensively used, the game isn't balanced around level 81. It's just there for completeness.

(I haven't tested it myself, but I'm presuming that if you followed what would be a "class" in earlier games, a set of about 6 "major" skills, you'd hit level 50 with those skills around 100. I didn't, but then I played more of a generalist character - I've got around 10 skills that I use alot. This gives me a few more levels above 50 if I were to max them out. I haven't yet - only got my first skill to 100 at level 48. That was Smithing.)

Its an easy trap to fall into. people just arnt aware that if you go overboard with smithing / enchant you will eventually gimp the enjoyment right out of your char.

Just throw away your gear, stick it on expert, get yourself some nice unenchanted plate armour (fine) and get that buzz going again.

I am only lv 54 working towards being a full weapons master. The first thing I did was focus on getting smithing, enchanting, heavy armor and one handed weapons to 100. I made a set of daedric armor to wear for battle, a set of armor that would accept the improving weapons enchantment which turns out with a grand soul and all the enchanting perks topped off got me 25% improvment for each of the 4 items I could equip. With this worn I improved my daedric armor to it's max potential, I also did this with the two daedric swords. Next step was to enchant the armor and weapons. My main focus was health regen, stamina regen, and one handed damage. I also created a ring and an amulet that both boost one handed damage by 40% and health regen by 40%. When it was all said and done I had armor and weapons that had duel enchantments on them that boosted my one hand damage to 120%, health regen to 120%, frost and fire damage resit to 40% each, stamina regen to 80%, and two swords that both had 31 points of fire damage and 20 points of heath stolen from target and also did 205 damage each. So with my one handed weapon perks of armsman at 5/5, dual flurry 2/2, dual savagery 1/1, and fighting stance 1/1 and my heavy armor perks of juggernaut 5/5, fists of steel 1/1, cushioned 1/1, and conditioning 1/1. I also activated the Antronach stone. The result, with the game on Master, nothing can kill me, almost everything dies with one combo, I never use potions because my life never falls farther than halfway, and I killed Alduin in 3 power combos standing right in front of him. I would expect this if I was at level 81 but at 54. FYI, I play on XBOX 360, no mods. Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I just wish it was more challenging.

This is why we should be able to "downvote" posts. To keep these at a minimum. I mean really, this is a pointless thread.... :facepalm:
