Wait, what's Hijerim? I've done that quest a few times and don't remember buying anything called Hijerim before...

Crap! Stupid question, Hijerim's the house. Thought it was an item or something.

Sorry, no time (or desire really) to read through the whole thread. If you kite an enemy to the pool, the odds are REALLY good that Shadowmere will come tearing out to attack said enemy, even if he didn't appear when he was supposed too.

Hope it helps, and I'm pretty sure I coulda fixed your other problems too. :P

Well see it's not gamebreaking to you because however you're playing the game doesn't make it gamebreaking. For me? It's gamebreaking.

Well, I sympathise ... honestly it seems a bit obsessive/compulsive to fight the glitches though. You're entitled to worry about any part of the game that you choose to, but you'd be happier if you just shrugged and moved onto some other area of the game. (Which is not to say that you're wrong and somehow Bethesda are right to leave in bugs.) Maybe change the things you can and accept the things that you can't ..?

And what do you expect to get out of this thread? .. Complaining the way your doing it won't get you jack [censored]. First calm down. It's just a [censored] game. Bugs will be in it as always. Every game has one. Just forget about the damn quest and keep going. I gotta admit. Yes it's true. Bethesda really svcks at patching games, but coming out like this posting nonsense is not going to get anything.

Well, I did post a solution to his problem. Maybe that's what he was looking for?

You have to enter and leave windhelm 4 times in separate 24 hour periods.

Tried it. No dice.

Essentially what I do when a glitch occurs is go through every solution I could Google. So unless you've got something Google or the UESP doesn't, assume I've already tried it =/

It got great folks like you to respond, so largely, mission successful.

And while I'm sure most of you won't comprehend, there isn't really a keep going for me here. It's a "this character needs X things for me to play it, and without X things said character is unplayable."

It's unfortunate that it also happens to be my favorite character.

Shame I didn't get into the Dawnguard beta. The way Skyrim goes for me I could have found every single glitch, solo, no effort necessary.

It's one thing to let it be known, which it is known. That's why I never keep things in it or buy it. But it's another thing to complain like a little [censored]. If he didn't sound like one I would have agreed and said how everything falls through the floor or off the mannequins instead of saying he's a [censored]

Seeing as you're totally privy to the point of this thread and are spot on with what you read and comprehended, I can't help but agree with you.

A house and a horse seem like some pretty minor things to allow to ruin your game.

I mean, again, no doubt you have a very valid point about bugs that should be addressed, but, like most complaint threads on this forum, this really seems like making a mountain out of a mole hill just to get some attention.

are you guys serious...like really serious? so its Ok for Bethesda to have buggy games, and for this Customer to be stonewalled.

but bring up Obsidian and its a Travesty.

Look OP you're not gonna get any reliable help here from the looks of it, I think Tech support is better for you. also what system you're playing n stuff would be nice.
Well yeah, it's forums. I mean, what kind of help does one expect from here? And especially from other players (Not to say that they don't ever pull through though)

Indeed. But a mole hill with attention works better than just a mole hill. History has proven this with many silly things before. Granted I would have much preferred being able to just say "X is broken" and have a Beth rep come in and say "Ok, it'll be fixed next patch," but that's one thing that never happens around here. Kicking and screaming seemed like it would give it a better shot. Though I agree with the rest of you that it's childish.

As for it being silly for them to ruin my game... meh. It's the nature of an Open World RPG that what's silly to one person is everything to another. For example, I don't even know why (read: don't care to have) Speech, Pickpocketing, or Alchemy are in the game, at all. But to somebody else they're everything, despite being small, insignificant things to me.

The not deserving to play part I regret typing. Everything else not so much. Sorry for that.

No need for an apology. You bumped the post and your comment didn't cause any grief to me in the slightest. I'm a member of the FGC (Fighting Game Community). Every troll on this forum couldn't get a rise out of me. It's standard practice in that particular community (check out SRK, you'll see what I mean). You either get used to it or you're gonna hate every time you come into contact with it.

Meh, I don't think there's ever a valid reason for childish, spoiled behavior.

But I get all your points. That is a bug that is severe enough that it should be addressed. Having never experienced it, I can't testify to it one way or another, but I'm not claiming you're wrong. I guess I'm lucky, I have never once encountered a major bug in Bethesda games, and I've been playing since Morrowind on various platforms.

Anyways, hope they fix it.

I feel really bad for the situation you're in. I think I may be the only person who hasn't experienced any gamebreaking bug at all in Skyrim... The worst was Erandur going past the barrier in that nightmare quest but I easily beat it by glitching through the wall using a silver platter and triggering the end of the quest.

This here I agree with, it is not on to have a game so bugged beyond belief like Skyrim is.
Bethesda needs to know its not just ok to release a product that is barely playable and random parts of the game breaking is not acceptable.
It's people that say oh its ok that allows Bethesda to think that its just fine to release games in the condition Skyrim is in.

4th play through and only 5 broken misc quests YAY!!! and as for Hijerim...it all went smoothly till i payed for the mess to be cleaned up.mess is cleaned up...all is perfet...cept for some random reason all the lights are gone...and or out. does not bother me really...after all the game breaking bugs, minor glitches and broken misc quests after so many playthroughs i just had to laugh. On xbox but im gonna pick it up for pc. and ill wait for the 30 days to pass by before jumping the gun with the rest of the 360 crew with Dawnguard. YAY great we get it early but that means we get the bugs too haha.

That svcks. When the game first released, I got the PS3 version, and ended up exchanging it for the Xbox version, due to the lag problems (a move I do not regret).

If you plan to try again, here's a few things I would do:
Don't load the auto save at the character creator, start a new game.
Delete the patch, and re-download it.

(If on Xbox)
Delete cache
Clear in game cache by holding LB, RB, X while it's booting up.
