Nah, most who profess to hate the game will stick with the series, and keep forking over money each time for "broken, dumbed-down console trash."

I mean, if they actually stopped buying the games, they couldn't whinge about them. And it's hard to be a miserable, whinging c**t if you don't have anything to whinge about.

Your argument might have meant something if Skyrim hadn't been pirated over a week before release ON THE XBOX 360.

Edit: A full week before it was available to be pirated on PC, I might add.

They are my favorite developrs. Elder Scrolls is my favorite series. I'll keep buying the games, I haven't been disappointed yet. I even liked Battlespire.

Lololololololololol, this game is amazing and fun as hell, why wouldn't you like it.

Who cares if there are some non-gamebreaking problems, IT'S A GAME.

Who cares if it's designed for casual gamers, GET A LIFE.

It's a game! Have fun with the endless quests and awesome landscape!

EDIT: Although saying that, I much prefer Fallout to it. And given the choice between HL3 and TESVI, I'd go with HL3.

Since Bethesda seemed so devoted to cranking out this game and making money, without taking the time to thoroughly test it (or test it at all, or even making a new game engine), a lot of people feel ripped off and are vowing to never buy a game from them again. At this point, if Bethesda doesn't pull a 180 and fix the problems, or at least admit that they messed up, many more will start joining the "avoid Bethesda" bandwagon as well. It just doesn't make any sense to me from a marketing point of view, to sell this game for big bucks, but pretty much screw yourselves out of large profit for any future titles.

I haven't had a single crash or experienced a major glitch in over 200 hours of gameplay. I play on a PC and my default setting was rated as "High." So my rig isn't top notch.

I also have fast load times.

I do have gripes but they're not performance related.

Non-working bookshelves and the nixing of magic resistance is an issue but they don't rise to the level of making me never want to buy their products again.

However, straying farther and farther away from the depth of Morrowind could do it.

I had problems with Oblivion because my hardware was never really up to snuff while I really didn't have any major problems with Fallout 3. I should mention that I bought the game more than a year after it came out.

Personally, I'm sick of these melodramatic threads. Yes, I can very well understand that those who experience grave glitches and bugs are annoyed, which they have a right to be. But to whine constantly about "I will never buy a Bethesda game again" or "TES is dead" is just too overdramatic and pompous for my taste.

This was my first, and will be my last pre-order by any company. Not because of bugs or glitches. I don't suffer from enough of those to care. Just because of the lies and the exaggerations.

Every massive game like this has bugs. Hopefully with their next game they will have a better coding system which wont corrupt all of the game files.

I dont understand all this talk about glitches im on the xbox and with 150 hours of gameplay ive experienced only a few minor glitches.

Not really, no. I've bought Morrowind, Oblivion (for PC and xbox 360 both) Fallout 3. I've bought Skyrim twice already on release (one for me, one for my daughter and husband to share) and will buy the GOTY for the PC in time when my PC can do it justice. In the meantime I'll probably buy any DLC released for the xbox360 (exception for content that's only suited for evil characters).
The moment the next TES game is announced I'll pre-order happily and in the full knowledge that Bethesda hasn't let me down so far (I'll overlook Oblivion's levelling system since it would be unfair to complain about that after putting hundreds of hours in Vanilla Oblivion) and their games only seem to get better and better.
For me Bethesda games are the best value for money out there for gaming, the only games that come close (but I still haven't put as many hours into as Bethesda games) are certain MMOs and they come with a monthly fee.
All in all, I couldn't be happier to be honest, Skyrim is everything I hoped it would be, and more.

Well, if that many people were dissatisfied, your argument would be valid. However, dissatisfied customers are, especially in the gaming industry, a very vocal minority. If you sell a million copies and 990,000 customers are happy, you will possibly see about 1,000 posting in the forums. The 10,000 unhappy customers will, however, most likely generate 5,000 hate postings.

they don't an this is te point. They want ur money and the best way to do that is to turn their games as close to a drug as possible. It's an addiction. They tell you it isn't but it is just like tv jus like movies your minds conscience is sold to the highest bidder

I'm over 200 hours in, and only encountered a few bugs. Ironically, I was more stable with 1.0 than with 1.1 or 1.2, so if anything I would say that they need to test their patches more. There are a few things that I dislike about the game, but I could come up with a list of things I dislike about most every game I play.

I look forward to their DLC and I look forward to their next game. Simple as that.

Most looking forward to is Borderlands 2

Not only did Skyrim screw up their menu into pausing they added a new feature which severally limits game play. I'm not the type to buy something and pretend I like it.

The first TES game I played was Oblivion. I hated it. It was boring as all [censored].

TES:S is better. It's not as wooden, badly-voiced, ugly, boring and repetitive as TES:O. It looks pretty. The characters are well-voiced. I'm actually bothering to follow the story (with long, long intervals in between plot points, obviously) now. It's just overall much more bearable and enjoyable than TES:O ever was.

I don't like TES:S's static nature- I do wish, for instance, that vendors' stores looked different when I invest in them, or that events have more of an influence on the appearance of cities, or that characters had more than a few lines, that there were more voices for the characters, that there were better stories and plots- I wish that there were more variety, quality and reactivity, but the game is good for what it is.

Skyrim is 5 times the game that Oblivion is. And this is from a hardcoe RPG- and adventure-game player. (Take my word for it ... My credentials are both broad and deep.)

Sure, I wish there was more to do than hack/slash/blast away at stuff, but that is a totally unrealistic expectation in the current gaming market. Wait another decade, for TES:VI or VII, for those expectations to be realistic. The market being what it is right now, you're not going to find a mainstream, 'deep' title.

The bugs? I didn't have any. (Not with Oblivion, for the short while I did play it, either.) Lucky me, I guess.

I shall continue to buy Bethesda games, but I will never ever buy them new again. I will always now buy a used copy so that Bethesda don't get a penny of my money but I still get there game.....win win situation

I'll buy more from Bethesda...

Most of us understand the hard work and complexity that goes into everything that is done in life. Those that do...can empathize and appreciate to a fuller extent what Bethesda does and what they have to deal with. Those that don't are spoiled little kids that get everything they want at home and kick and scream at their parents when they don't get that specific kind of chocolate milk with their chicken nuggets, the same way they kick and scream at Bethesda...prove me wrong.
