So this is probably the last Bethesda game for a lot of peop

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 4:43 am

Since Bethesda seemed so devoted to cranking out this game and making money, without taking the time to thoroughly test it (or test it at all, or even making a new game engine), a lot of people feel ripped off and are vowing to never buy a game from them again. At this point, if Bethesda doesn't pull a 180 and fix the problems, or at least admit that they messed up, many more will start joining the "avoid Bethesda" bandwagon as well. It just doesn't make any sense to me from a marketing point of view, to sell this game for big bucks, but pretty much screw yourselves out of large profit for any future titles.

Edit: This was originally in the PS3 forums, so it's not specifically addressing PC and Xbox users.

I'm this bandwagon already.

I put up with glitches from Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. But there's a time when enough's enough. While I don't wanna say "never again". It's sad that my train of thought is now to wait for the retail beta to be fixed and then I will pick up the game while it's in in the used bargain bin. Which is something I should have done with this game.

I'm with you there. I plowed through Fallout 3 and New Vegas and ALL of their DLC on the PS3, and I originally told myself that I would wait with Skyrim, until I saw that they advertised a "'new' game engine" and figured "they can't mess this up again, can they?" I was wrong evidently.

I shall continue to buy Bethesda games, but I will never ever buy them new again. I will always now buy a used copy so that Bethesda don't get a penny of my money but I still get there game.....win win situation

Just remember, ever time they have a release date scheduled just add 360 days to that for when the real product comes out. Can't wait for 11-11-12.

There is no way I will ever pay for another Bethesda game. No matter how good it looks. I've always been on the fence with all their releases. Now I just don't care.

Die hard veteran of release day New Vegas, I am immune to bugs!

I just never understood how bugs could ruin a game for somebody.

If they only develop for the PC, I will buy their games. I will not buy another console port. I hated Oblivion.

Bethesda will continue to make console ports for money, so, short story, no, I will not buy Bethesda games anymore

I plan to wait about a month or two until after the release of Elderscrolls 6 to play it. Skyrim is just too buggy. It's funny because Oblivion actually gave me less problems when I bought it. I don't remember if I had bought that one on release though.

People buy Bethesda games believing they won't have to deal with bugs?

Whatever, see you all when they announce TES VI.

with changes some people come some people go, I personally love the game (do wish there was less bugs but whatever, I have put up with worse) Its stable enough it doesn't crash every 3 seconds so.

ripped off? I have 160hours on my first playthrough with many more to come. Now The Force Unleashed II which had no bugs and worked perfectly I finished in 6 hours and it had next to nothing for replay value. Do the math.

And I wish Fallout didn't have so many similarities with TES these days.

To the guy above me, how did Todd lie about anything? He never said the game would be bug free.

I don't understand people who participate in the video game hobby, but don't understand the basic principles of video games. Sandbox and open world games are among the most sophisticated and complex, and this means they are inevitably the most buggy. I knew this before I bought Skyrim, why didn't all of you?

Are there big issues with the console?

I'm playing PC version of Skyrim, and completely enjoying my experience... sorry everyone else is so disappointed. I will definitely play the next in the series, presuming there will be one.

I'm having a complete blast playing Skyrim PC so far...
