This is ridiculous...

I don't know. This is the PS3 issues forum. I don't have an Xbox. Guess if this "title" performs just as bad on the Xbox it just proves the point.

It isn't Bethesdas fault. Your system is probably bad or you got a bad game. Or it has scratch.

The game is perfectly fine, not even a smudge on it, no dust nothing. And yeah it MIGHT be my system but I just don't see that being the reason when I've played tons of other games on it and it has ALWAYS worked perfectly fine. Even Red Dead Redemption worked perfectly fine (Undead Nightmare as well) I just don't see those games working perfectly and this one being completely craptastic. I mean it's not just crashes. Drops in frame rate, NPC's saying different dialogues then what's written, NPC's sitting in chairs in awkward positions, an item will be laying on table but I have to aim at the floor to pick it up, when you kill someone their head will just float in the air, the "Dead" prosttute walking around perfectly fine, quests that send me to talk to one guy only to have the guy tell me go away, companion quests that once you immediately start the game crashes EVERY TIME, Lucy in the thorn who was supposed to switch to sixy sleepwear didn't she also does not leave her room and open up in any other conversation other then to say something like "Come to me my hunter." and that's it, and there are many MANY more glitches those are just a few. So I'm going to go on a limb and say it's not my PS3 it's the Game and if it's the game then it's Bethesda's fault for releasing a messed up game for people to unwittingly buy.

You Sir, is the definition of an idiot. I have the same problem, not with any other game, just this game. You suggest my TWO PS3's are bad? You can have a look at my disc and point out any scratch. I have discs with scratches that plays very well. This game does not play and the fu*king disc has no scratches.

What you suggest is that the PS3-platform and its BluRay player is such a fragile platform that nobody should ever put their money into it. Is that really what you're implying? Out of 20+ games and 30+ BluRay movies Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are the only ones that misbehaves. Do you sincerely think my TWO PS3 is to blame?

What do you recommend for future customers? Is the PS3 a sound platform to buy? Can you buy a PS3 and a game from Betheseda/Oblivion/ZeniMax or whater YOU [censored] decide to call yourself and have a undisturbed experience. If the answer is yes - why can't I have it? What the [censored] wrong did I do to you to have my pre-ordered game not working? Did I buy the wrong PS3? Can you please enlighten me of what PS3 I should by the next time? Is there some hint on the serial numbers? Is there some specific tell-tales on the machines that will tell whether they will play this title or not?

You was pretty fast in replying to the previous post so I guess I'll soon be enlightened.

^^^^^ What he said minus the preordering part. There's no way it's my system. I at first thought it might be but it ran DC Universe online just fine and it's map is massive and graphics very good it handled that no problem. Red Dead Redemption (and Undead Nightmare) is probably almost as massive as New Vegas but the graphics are better quality and I never had a hiccup on that, even on the online mode. I went through all the steps listed in forums: Start PS3 in safe mode and erase corrupted data, play New Vegas not signed in, turn off the radio and the music, change the HUD color, turn off the auto-save. None of it made the game last longer than 2 hours without crashing. Bethesda needs to get their crap together...

Actually, yes. But I think back to all the games I've played on it and I have never not once had a single game freeze on me, heck I didn't even have frame rate issues. Final Fantasy 13, Mass Effect 2, Dynasty Warriors, Gundam Warriors, Call of Duty: Black Op's, Killzone 3, DC Universe online, Red Dead Redemption (Undead Nightmare), Dead Space 2, Alien vs Predator, and many others. I don't think it's just pure coincidence that New Vegas was the FIRST AND ONLY game to ever freeze repeatedly on my PS3. I mean yes the actually CD I bought could have been messed up (No there are no scratches, smudges, stains, etc. of any kind on the CD) but if that's the case then the company should have recalled them and fixed them before tricking people into buying CD's that are messed up and cause the game to freeze every hour or so.

I've noticed that not only does Fallout New Vegas have more glitches than can be accounted for, but also the original Fallout 3. As much as I love both of these games, I am as equally frustrated with the recurring problems which plague my game play. I don't want to discredit the hard work and countless hours which goes into making these games, but at the same time I've become frustrated to the point where I have to say something about it. Bethesda, please fix this problem. Thanks!

What he said. I mean I am mad at Bethesda about New Vegas, and I did own Fallout 3 with all the DLC's and the original Morrowind. I plan to get Oblivion when I trade this in, so it's not like I'm never purchasing another Bethesda product again, I'm just going to pretend this one doesn't exist >.>

Actually Softworks is half to blame for this problem since they did the Testing for New Vegas and they could've delayed the game 3 months to fix the bugs but money talks. The other half of the blame is Obsidian for rushing the game and Gamebryo for being a glitchy engine. My advice save often and have a seperate save whenever you enter a new area like The Strip or a cave. Also turn off Auto Save it isn't reliable.

Everything that guy said ^^^^^. I just sold my New Vegas though, the storyline could only protect the game for so long the constant freezes finally won. Ended up buying Killzone and Crysis 2, and I bet you those games don't freeze every hour -.-

Sold mine a long time ago. Never looked back.

Killzone 3 is alright, it gets tiring like every other FPS, but it has no where near the amount of technical issues as NV. Can't say anything for Crysis 2, though. Haven't played it.

I'm loving Crysis 2 so far. Graphics are just mind boggling. The maps are pretty much open with the ability to get to just about anywhere, and stealthing around snapping peoples necks is quite fun. Best of all, IT DOESN'T FREEZE!!! I've been playing it and not a single glitch, crash, freeze, anything. Hint hint Bethesda...

@ .::AleisterCrowley::.

Hmm, might have made an amalgam of the defenses of the game and surely put more words in your mouth than was justified by reality. Guess I was carried away and I sincerely apologize for that. When I backtrack I can see my argumentation was totally misdirected BUT in general I think it still holds. However, I do not believe you sir was the appropriate target. Again I apologize for that. My post was put (by me) in the wrong context as I was challenged and failed the sanity check.

I don't know how to make up for it. You did not suggest anything of what I imply you did, others did though and that was projected on you. Sorry.

Wow... that's ridiculous. Yeah I've only played it for about 4 hours max without it freezing up. I've also noticed SOOOOOOOO many glitches in the game. Example: Clanden when you discover the "Dead" prosttute in the torture room for me she was up walking around, Zombie maybe? She wasn't dead but it still let me examine her to determine she was tortured to death. And the NPC's will be sitting in chairs awkwardly, like half their body hanging out. Then there's the Boomer Museum kid, he was possessed I think cuz his head was going crazy all over the place.
But on a lighter note, I thought the drunk women NCR Troopers dancing half naked in the water fountain was hilarious.

I experienced the same zombie glitch on pc. I was looking for the prosttute couldn't find her because she was walking around alive and well. lol! Nah, it's just a small glitch. I can live with these kind of glitches, some of them are actually funny... All I can say (I don't want to sound pc elitist here) is get the game for pc. I'm glad I switched platforms since freezefest FO3 GoTY and Bethesda's great service regarding ps3 console gamers. Not that I play Fallout much lately, it lost its appeal to me - like yourself, I moved on to other games.

Because it's made on an engine that can't be handled by consoles.

This is the cold hard truth btw due to insufficient RAM. Who's fault it is I do not know: Bethesda for making a crappy engine not compatible with consoles? Obsidian for using the same engine? Or Sony for allowing this game on their platform? I don't care because I don't spend money on Bethesda anymore since FO3, saves me 60 Euros.

Well, thank-you for at least apologizing. I was expecting more non-sense. Just sell the game if it's giving you difficulties. the engines being scrapped for Skyrims new software, so my guess is Bethesda could care less about fixing their previous games.

Well, I personally blame it on Bethesda. I highly doubt Obsidian would try and use a different engine just because people experienced issues with the last two games that used it. They can't tell the people who let them develop the game what software they're going to use.

As for it being Sony's fault, as far as Bethesda's concerned, there is only a "handful" of people experiencing issues, therefore the game gets published. Sony doesn't know anything of it, except what Bethesda tells them.

Oh and I also played Dead Space 2 without a single hiccup. If I didn't have problems with games like those which have large open maps (DCUO) and really good quality cutscenes (Mass Effect 2) and fast paced action (Dead Spance, COD) I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle Fallout.

It's not your PS3 anyone who says otherwise is a total moron. I've played New Vegas for the PC and when it came out it froze like the PS3 and Xbox 360 version the last couple of patches have pretty much fixed the issue for the PC. Also a few modders worked on fixing bugs that Obsidian never fixed. The most likely reason it freezes is due to the Gamebryo engine mixed in with Havok.

I always found it funny that Red Dead Redemption was a similar open world game and it had a fraction of problems that the last two Fallout games have had. The money I would've spent on the next two New Vegas DLC will likely go towards another Rockstar game, L.A. Noire because of the debacle that New Vegas has been. I'm so glad I didn't buy Dead Money.

I know it's a different dev and different game engine, but I actually have hesitations about getting Brink because of how unreliable Bethesda's two Fallout titles have been.

If anything, buy it used. It is an entirely different developing studio, but Bethesda being the publisher still makes money from it.

Personally, I wouldn't choose to not get a game just because I have a bad history with the publishers developing, marketing, and consumer services. I'd just buy it used. No more of my money is going into Bethesda's pocket.

I joined this forum just to BEG Bethesda for a patch to fix New Vegas.

Bethesda. Please whoever is in charge of programming the engine, please please please get them to fix the freezing issue. I have the latest patch to this day! But still...

I play the game get 30 minutes in. Game freezes, I restart my PS3. 1 hour passes. Game freezes, I restart. 5 minutes pass, I restart.

Bethesda. This is my favourite game of ALL TIME. Although I've beat it once already, I'd like to explore the rest of the game a second, third, and maybe fourth time! But that's not going to happen without these major issues being resolved.

I haven't played the game in the last 3 weeks cause I know that just walking to Hoover Dam is just going to freeze the game.

I beg you. PLEASE!

Or any of you programmers, just make the patch and forget what Zenimax thinks! Do it for your fellow gamer! Who cares about $$.

Please...

So did I, back in.... December? It ain't gunna happen.

----

If anyone is truly experiencing severe issues and tech support has screwed you around like they did with me, file a report with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Bethesda/Zenimax have to answer back within a set amount of time. I've been kinda busy lately, so I haven't had time to write one up, but I certainly plan on it.

Make sure you mention that the software used in NV was used in 2 other titles that people also had problems on, problems that were very similar. Even if you didn't have any problems with TES IV or F3, others did, and everyone had different experiences with them. Something is certainly wrong with the software and it's inexcusable that they continued to use it.

Console users don't have access to community-created patches that fix these errors. Bethesda/Obsidian are the only ones accountable for this. What really ticks me off is they never fixed F3, so what the hell makes us think they'll fix NV?

Patches won't solve the freezing problems!

Hell, you minus well put it as your sig, make it into a thread on the 360 & PS3 hard & software issues boards and you'd still have people coming on here leaving angry messages. I know that's why I joined. Only a short matter of time til I realized no one gave a [censored].

lol, I think that is also the reason why I joined. How long has it been? A year back.. long enough to cool off a bit. Lately I'm helping out in the series discussion I find the oldies worth while to help people with, try them they're fun and at least they function properly! If I knew a way to solve this freezing issue, I surely would and spread it like wild fire. But it's up to Bethesda or whatever. not that they give a ... (sidenote: I believe the staff cares but the top managers don't) the only thing we can do is stop buying any products from them for the ps3. Simple! I think a majority of ps3 users will and once ps3 market share plummets, I hope they'll learn their lesson by making quality products or leaving the ps3 scene all together.

Would be a cool signature, though!
