Time for RAGE , only ONE Crossbow type !?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:40 pm

Considering that Dawnguard is supposed to be focused on crafting and exploring, I would say that it isn't impossible that we could craft our own crossbows in different variations.

Seriously, the Dwemer probably invented the crossbow.

Which is why I'd be surprised not to see them.

After all, several of their machines utilise them for combat.

This is true, just minutes ago multiple centurions were plinking bolts at me out of the little arm-bows.
There needs to be an option to just pry the crossbow off when you kill them.

I'll be playing on PC. Modders will inevitably get ahold of it and make all kinds.

I watched on one of the E3 interviews that dragon bone weapons were going to be introduced in dawnguard so maby it will be a dragon bone crossbow spacifically designed to end the lives of all blood svckers lol. It sounds good any way.

I just wanted a pointy daedric crossbow to match my daggers and regular bow, the crossbow we've seen looks incredibly plain. Not to mention, if there's only one kind, odds are they won't be all that strong. At least not for end-game high level players, even with the special bolts.

I'll say one thing though, I won't care how many crossbows there are if we can actually get a hold of, & use Auriel's Bow, it was my favorite artifact in Morrowind.
I'd always book it straight to the Ghostgate, so I could steal it.

There was files in 1.6 for dwarven crossbow.. and the ones we saw in the trailer definetely weren't dwarven so i'd say theres more than one type..

This, very much this.I would have loved to make a Van Helsing kind of character with different Crossbows and stuff, but seems we get dissapointed another time.

By the way , is Auriel bow counts as an Aedra artifact ?
If yes , it's AMAZING !

Yeah, it's an Aedric artifact. Granted, in Morrowind it was enchanted. So, it was just a really pretty bow, with a unique name, that was a pain to get.
But I still loved it.

If by "only one crossbow" they mean you are the only one who gets one in the entire game, I say hell yeah! Advanced weaponry for Dovahkiin FTW!

Didn't understand that, Betheseda are lazy people.

But I thought there were found Animations for an Dwemer-crossbow?

I don't have anything wrong with the currently revealed crossbow, but it looks very ordinary. It'd be perfectly appropriate if you're wearing steel, leather or something similar, but with daedric or dwarven it'll look out of place.

Never mind crossbows, where my shotgun?

Oh, and ammo crafting would be great. But how many Daedra hearts to arrows conversion? Hmm.

There's always explanations for this if you're a role-player, and imaginative. Let's just say that crossbow technology, if you will, has just come of age. Perhaps the Dawnguard are the only group that has been making them or really knows how. That's why they're all the same. Its kind of like the first car or the first musket. Perhaps in a future DLC we will see variations. As it stands now, I have absolutely no problems with with this. Especially with all of the updates and support Bethesda has provided us with thus far.

You fools do realise there were animations in the patch files about dwarven crossbows right?
This article is obvious BS

Well there were more variations in Morrowind , it was 200 years ago.

I really hope when we get spears there is more than one that's just labeled "spear" in the inventory.

There were at least three crossbows 200 years back in Morrowind, so if that's the case crossbow technology advances very slowly.
