Well, Morrowind only had Two before Expansions, Three at the very best (With Bloodmoon).

Still, I'm a little surprised, but the article didn't link any sources... Didn't Bethesda also say that there was no Werewolves in Skyrim?

This Dawnguard faction and the vampires better be dam well good if there is only one crossbow. It seems like Bethesda are really cutting corners

There's always explanations for this if you're a role-player, and imaginative. Let's just say that crossbow technology, if you will, has just come of age. Perhaps the Dawnguard are the only group that has been making them or really knows how. That's why they're all the same. Its kind of like the first car or the first musket. Perhaps in a future DLC we will see variations. As it stands now, I have absolutely no problems with with this. Especially with all of the updates and support Bethesda has provided us with thus far.

You fools do realise there were animations in the patch files about dwarven crossbows right?

There were at least three crossbows 200 years back in Morrowind, so if that's the case crossbow technology advances very slowly.

Yeah. Only one crossbow titled "crossbow" just as there's only one type of "hunting bow," one type of "longbow," and one type of "imperial bow."

Just because one fool found only one crossbow (in a demo version in which one might only be available, not to mention time constraints) doesn't confirm that there is only one crossbow in Dawnguard. That guy who wrote the article is a freaking ignoramus and is incredibly arrogant to have such audacity, and NO ONE should take him seriously.

Just because one fool found only one crossbow (in a demo version in which one might only be available, not to mention time constraints) doesn't confirm that there is only one crossbow in Dawnguard. Would it even make since for there to not be a Dwemer variation? Dwemer did invent the disign right? As in Morrowind there were Dwemer crossbows and steel crossbows. The Dwemer ones were stronger, so I assumed the imperials reverse engineered the Dwemer design to make their own or something. Also the ballistas outside the Dwemer ruins.

Anyways he did say the source was a Q&A with developers. If he lied may he have mercy from the wrath of my bad thoughts on him!

do the upgrades make the Crossbow look different or something? because I'm pretty sure I've seen 2 types of Crossbows so far.
The one shown there looks like a steel crossbow, similar design to all the other steel weapons.
the other one I saw in one of the Todd Interviews, he was shooting Skeletons with a somewhat off-white jagged edged crossbow, I'll try to find it again in case i'm wrong.

That's hardly confirmed, for all we know there are new dwemer creations that use crossbows like the spheres. That doesn't me we get to use them. I'm hoping that it's wrong but I'm not going to assume anything at this point.

No centurion spheres have them. Those files were found after the game got released and people thought there were crossbows in the game.
