Timed exclusive DLC AGAIN? : Fallout: New Vegas

I was really wanting to pick this up on PS3 instead of the 360 this time because of the d-pad on the PS3 controller. But with this timed exclusive DLC crap...It kind of puts me off getting it for PS3, now. I guess MS did their job right. :\ I should probably get it on PS3 anyways because it's superior, and by the time all the dlc comes out on 360 I'll have other games on my hands.

EDIT: It does use R1 and L1 to shoot and aim right?

No, dont think of it that way. The Xbox users are actually Beta-Testing the dlc for us. Do you remember the Reference Glitch in the Shivering Isles? As hell unfolded, Bethesda fixed the bug and released it bug free to the ps3.

Dude, the timed DLC is just for Xbox 360.

And, not everyone has 1000 Dollars to spend updating a comp just to get some friggin mods.

Well it was a well written post until this. So why even make a post if the PS3 is so superior then? Get it for the PS 3 then. Hopefully you are posting on your superior platfor instead of a computer.

It all depends on how bad you want the DLC. Do you want to play the game, or do you want to play the DLC? Question answered.

Fallout games are actually complete garbage on the PS3 until a little after the first 12-13 months.

Yes there is a way, thing is most people don't want to work that hard enough to do so.

*edit* It seems some people didn't get the joke. I ment getting another job to do so. See ther eare ways to get the money but who wants to work 80+ to do so.

No, some people have to pay rent, food, college, kids, mortgage, debt, all sorts of crap. A stupid 4000 dollar gaming computer is at the BOTTOM of most people's list.

I don't make $50,000,000 a year. I've got car payments, insurance payments, taxes, rent, utilities. I just don't see how you could assume I have $4,000 sitting around. And don't try to tell me I can find a computer that can run Fallout New Vegas in maximum quality lag-free for under $4,000.

These days you can build a PC for ￡400 ($500-600?) that will run the game much better than any current gen console.
The main reason for doing this though is the GECK, you get mods. Oh and a mouse, this means you can actually aim

Why would anyone WANT to buy the DLC early? The games is an absolute shambles as it is. The DLC will probably cost what? ￡5/$8? I'd probably, in fact no I'll be honest, I'd definitely get more enjoyment out of that money if I rolled it up and shoved it up my [censored]. At least I'd stand a chance at getting my money's worth that way.

What does it matter if us PS3 and PC users get the DLC later? Anybody with even a hint of common sense is going to wait until the game itself get's sorted out anyway.

Sounds like a bunch of PS3 haters in this topic. Guess what guys, I have a PS3, and been playing since launch day, and have had 0 problems with FO:NV. Now how many Xbox and PC users do I have to listen to whine about how bad they're game runs before they realize that PS3 is having alot easier time with it?

My advice, get it on PS3. Who cares if the DLC is timed-exclusive? We'll have it eventually, and like someone else said, the Xbox users will just be testing it for us. XD

Fortunately, you don't need nearly that much unless you let yourself get gouged.

This argument would be more reassuring if the FO3 DLC actually had less bugs in the PS3 version than the 360 version.

Really? Are you honestly telling me that you can run from one side of the map to the other without the game stuttering every twenty feet and potentially crashing? Be honest. If you're experiencing any bugs at all, you're not doing anyone any favours by pretending that you aren't.

I'm on the PS3 aswell, and the game is in pretty terrible shape for me. The only other game I've played that was anywhere near this bad was Two Worlds on the Xbox 360. I'm not sure if New Vegas is quite THAT bad, but it's not far off.

My words exactly. I've been playing since launch too, and have 2 freezes which required me to restart the PS3, saw a little of lag when I'm in Westside, and the red square bug when trying to mod my Weathered 10mm that came with the CE. Other than that, the game runs smoothly, and I just clocked over 65 hours.

It works fine. Maybe it's your system? I'm about 30 hours in my first character, and have only froze once.

I take fine care of my PS3, and FO:NV has run like a charm.

Sure I was disappointed when on launch day it came out and people were griping like babies over how terrible it was, but I ws relieved to know that my copy works just fine, and has a good frame rate, with only 1 crash in 30 hours.

I will second the fact that the game RUNS VERY SMOOTHLY ON MY PS3. The bugs I have encountered are NOT game stopping. My game does NOT freeze up.

Well My computer was only about $900-$1000 (not sure since I up graded my graphics card) and I run without lag all day long on ultra setting, 1680x1050 screen ummm and i think thats all there is to it. But still $1000 with all that going on would be tough to buy a computer with. Point is, $3000ish less then you suggested in the first place.

sheesh some people exaggerate so badly.

all in all this thread is going to get into a console war or some junk that these Forums do not need.

Not me, I waited till the PS3 was $299, because I don't have the extra 5-6 gundred dollars laying around.

I'd rather have a PS3 andways, because it's internet is FREE, if you can pick up a connection. And also, it won't get viruses or run slowly after a week.

I have a laptop, and I do my weekly maintenance, update drivers and etc.. But no matter what, my pc is gonna be out of date, and probably always will be. My PS3 won't be out of date till the next gen syatems come out.
