2: Turok 360 and PS3 (Where are the {beeping} checkpoints!!!).
3: Star Trek Tactical Assault PSP (Useless upgrading system and no in mission repair).
4: Alone in the Dark 360 (God awful controls)
5: Valis 1 PC (or Turbo Duo version) remake (This game will make a man out of you or make you cry like a little girl).

Ahh the good old days of The Lion King. I feel accomplished now since I can say I beat the game!

Loved that game. Not sure if I'd still be able to beat it if I tried it again today, I think I played it a lot when I was a kid. :D

The original Counter Strike. I haven't been playing it nearly as long as others, and thusly svck at it. In my two years of playing, I think I've gotten three kills.

Yikes...I hope you didn't play very much... I think CS is one of the easier games, it's about 2 things: game sense, and reflexes. 75% of the kills are really easy if you anticipate where people are going to be, and move efficiently to get to a more favorable position. Also knowing where, when, and how to flash is the most important skill in the whole game. The rest of the skill, aiming, can be acquired quite easily over time.

As for the harder games that I've played, I'd say Rome:TW on Hard battles and Hard campaign...it's so difficult to constantly struggle with resources, so you're always outnumbered in battle, so you always have to battle from a disadvantage. I'll admit its an easy (and very fun) game, on easy, but on the harder difficulties, I've struggled.

Dear god... In recent memory the absolute hardest was Ninja Gaiden Black with Hurricane back II enabled on high difficulties... The hours I put in to that game... :P

Aside from that, the hardest games I've ever played were Planescape: Torment, Ocarina of Time (at age 8) and Super Mario 64 (also at age 8)

Only Battletoads and Megaman and Megaman 3 come into mind right now.

More recently, Braid. I'm just too stupid to even finish it, much less collect all the puzzle pieces :sadvaultboy:

QWOP is probably the hardest game I've played.
Dark and Demon's Souls comes next
Diablo 2 on Nightmare is hard if you don't use any gimmick builds.

Stuff I played on Sega was tough too.

Lion King
Battletoads

Also certain songs on Guitar Hero and Rockband are really tough.

Eternal Darkness when you choose the sanity stone. God, that sanity meter when down quicker than the speed of light. The enemies in that game are really tough too, I especially hated the huge giant monster thing that kept appearing in the beginning levels. I still haven't finished it, but not because of the difficulty, but because my Gamecube would always get an error at one specific area of the game. And, no it wasn't a sanity effect.

There a few more games that will probably come to mind later.

The original arcade Donkey Kong.

This. I tried it, the farthest I ever got was maybe stage seven. The one with the conveyor belts.

Off topic, anybody ever seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_of_Kong:_A_Fistful_of_Quarters?

@Aquan Have you played Riven? Much harder. :(

I didn't. I guess I was just playing with either hackers or people who've played non stop for 13 years, but it was those few matches that convinced me. Maybe I'm not fast enough, maybe I was playing on 'ALL PRO NO NOOB' servers, maybe it's just aged. I find TFC and CSS much easier, and less broken.

I love that movie, it actually got me into the arcade to try the game. I think I got to about level 5 and I just knew I was incredibly lucky.

Co-op always makes the game easier to finish. I've heard that the final boss in Gears of War 1 is supposed to be really tough, but I beat him with my brother on Insane.

YES! The King of Kong is the best video game documentary in existence. Billy Mitchell is probably one of my favorite people.

Also, agreed on your second point. Agreed hard.
