I've played the Lion King for SNES and Battletoads for SNES...The Lion King was impossible for me as a child. I was only able to get to the second zone (I just can't wait to be king music playing).

And I thought I was the only one...I remember getting to the hyenas and just giving up by then.

Dwarf Fortress... The hardest bit is where you try to find out what's actually going on and when attempting to navigate the UI. :P

The hardest game I have played?
It's definitely the game where you are supposed to make a guy run by pressing some weird buttons and stuff..

Hardest actual game I've played? I haven't played hard games, nearly at all. Only demon's souls and dark souls could even count as hard and those are boringly easy once you know what you are supposed to do to stay alive.

I remember seeing someone's commentary of that and just about killed myself laughing! God, that thing was ridiculous.

Fallout 2

FO2 is really easy, now, if you want a really hard game where you tear your eyes off in frustration:

...Devil May Cry.

Really hard games for me, immensely satisfying, but very hard. Unless you've played the ninja gaiden series of course...then it's a piece of cake.

I haven't played many notoriously hard games, but X3 Terran Conflict had a rather steep learning curve, took me a while to find out what the hell I was doing. And I never finished Devil May Cry 4.

  • Dwemer puzzle box

Which ironically isn't that hard, its just in such an easy place to get, that its almost too obvious :P

The hardest and most unforgiving game I've ever played was S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Clear Sky was about on par while Call of Pripyat was much easier. It also happens to be one of the best games I've ever played.

Your list is almost the same as mine, except the only game on there that I could not beat is The Lion King. So that would have to be number one for me.

EDIT: Couldn't beat Ninja Gaiden either, so that goes to the number two slot.

The original Counter Strike. I haven't been playing it nearly as long as others, and thusly svck at it. In my two years of playing, I think I've gotten three kills.
Deadliest Crab on the 360. It probably would've been easier if my little guys would come out if the boat after my repeatedly telling them to do so.
Edit: Probably lots more that won't come to mind.
