A Tragedy has Beset all mankind

Our typical west coast BoS supporters exhibit clear signs of sadism, enjoying the prospect of torturing a man who placed trust in them and further betraying a separate group of people for 'kicks'. They also tend to be obsessed with anything big and shiny and some leading psychologists think this stems from the need to compensate.

"Compensate"? Projecting a bit, are we? And who said anything about betraying the NCR? They get what they want....the Dam, the tax revenue from the Strip Casinos, and dominion over the Mojave while we get what we want, House's technology and the armor they took from our fallen Brothers and Sisters.

Seriously though, that is a little sick. You want to torture someone for laughs? Nice.

When this situation came up in my first playthrough......the moment I realized he wouldn't be reasonable about it I went to the basemant and emptied a Laser RCW into him. My only regret was that they didn't provide me the dialog option to explain to him he was sadly mistaken if he thought my loyalty was for sale. He thought he could buy people if he pushed enough caps at them....he was wrong about Benny, and just as wrong about me though for opposite reasons.

Hamnade man nails the problem from House's view. He dislikes the NCR (for good reason, since they want to kill him and take his home) and if you reconcile the Kings and NCR he sees it as them supporting the NCR. Of his decisions this is the one I most disagree with (though, since I found out about it, it doesn't come to pass).

The NCR tried to talk to him....he could have gotten a good deal if he wanted, but his real plan was to let the NCR bleed itself white protecting the Dam (and by default him) and stall for time until he could get the chip back and then say to the NCR, "the Moor has done his duty, the Moor can go". If the NCR was willing to take the hand of one of thier bitterest enemies...the BoS...to hold onto the Dam, House could have wrote his own deal easily. And the Kings....House created them by casting those he had no use for into Freeside to fend for themselves. It wouldn't have taken much to stabilize Freeside and secure the King's loyalty...and freezing the NCR out from the getgo...but he flat out didn't care what happens in Freeside. But if they take NCR assistance, he punishes them for "disloyalty" to him. Talk about callous.

I just wish that, after I've disconnected him, I could invite the BOS to the lucky 38, and turn it into our new HQ (and with the help of the locals, hopefully, turn the Mojave Chapter into something more like the MWBOS). There's nothing noteworthy on the rest of the Strip, so there's no need to bother them, we just march on the Lucky 38, hearing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oxYJiVNzfc in the background and destroying any securitrons along the way. We could use Mr House to play a nice game of watch the idiot dictator who asked a Paladin to destroy the BOS and hear him scoff at you.

Oh, I'd love that. :D

I wouldn't want to torture House, but even you House fans have to admit he's one cocky son of a gun. Some comeuppance would not be too unimaginable.

Then prepare for your own deaths. If you want the Lucky 38 then you're going to have a hard time keeping it, it's in NCR territory now, you're squatting on their land. They might settle for taxes, but it's unlikely given the tower's defensive capabilities. They would probably just kill you all and take it. (But the NCR wouldn't do that right! Not like they did at Helios One!)

The NCR didn't want to talk, they wanted one of two things:
1. House agrees to a change of terms of their contract, probably something to do with a tax on the income of the Strip, thus making money off their soldiers.
2. Annexing the Strip.

They make this abundantly clear and House makes it abundantly clear that he doesn't give a [censored]. They agreed to the contract and he won't argue it over again, he's satisfied, if they aren't they can either shut up or do something about it, which, they can't.

This 'malleability' is nothing to do with the NCR being willing to be nice, it's that they want to win no matter what because they want the dam (oh and they dislike CL, but more importantly they want the dam). House knows what the BoS are like, he writes a deal with them and they help him out it's only a matter of time before they end up going to war with eachother, better to cut the head off the viper when it's sleeping than face it when it's been woken.
I've said my peace on the Kings.

How can you do that, I mean, he just doesn't look tasty. Did you tenderize the meat with a super sledge or did you turn him into something more like jerky?

Well, it's kind of a long, disturbing story. I'll cut out all the *really* unsettling parts.

When I find Mr. House, I [cut content] and in the end he is nothing but chunky salsa sprayed all over his tomb. So long as he isn't vaporized, I figure there have got to be pieces of bone all over the place. And with bone [cut content] and that allows you to make perfect little toothpicks.

I might have felt bad upon receiving the note, if it weren't for the notice immediately afterward that I had ranked up my Abominable perk with House being my 100th kill. Learning that House counted as an Abomination made me LOL.

Invite the BoS into the Lucky 38? What are you smoking?

They would strip the place clean, take it all back to their bunker, and probably every Securitron they came across too.

They. Do. Not. Share. I thought Veronica's quest made their slavish adherence to their obsolete dogma abundantly clear? Do you not also remember the bomb collar they stuck on you if you entered without Veronica to vouch?

House may be a megalomaniacal autocrat, but he is justified in his antipathy towards the BoS.
