I tripped over a cabbage and killed myself.

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:57 pm

So I was in a dungeon, fighting some of those rediculusly common zombie mummy Drougr guys, and one of them got a lucky hit on me, and almost all of my health was wiped out. Unable to continue fighting, I started running towards the exit of the dungeon. But, since skyrim hates me and my Xbox, I tripped over a cabbage I had dropped there to free up storage space and, somehow, was killed.

Although it WAS pretty funny XD has anything like this happened to anyone else?

Well, the dumbest thing I ever did was kill a dragon priest on a slope and of course he slid 1000 or so feet down after he died. I had gone to the wall to get a word of power and as it started to glow a Dragon Priest popped up and wanted to play. To get the loot from the guy I went down after him. Of course after I slipped and slid down that slope, I climbed all the way back up to the shrine to get the word from the Dragon Wall. That took about 30 minutes as I had to find a completely different path back up. It was only after I climbed back up that I had looked and saw that I had learned the Word of Power....

Edit: No, that was not the dumbest thing I did. That also involved a mountain side and a slope. I thought I was using a Flame Shout, when instead I had Whirlwind Sprint selected. Well, I was about 500 feet above the valley floor after the shout with nothing under my feet. I must have looked like Wile E Coyote just before I started the descent straight down.

I had the same thing happen on some bones around the middle of my playthrough. They propelled me against the wall just like a drougr shout would. Only I was all alone in a fort.. running through some hallway.
Just flat out killed me. I re-loaded thinking.. "wow.. that was some sort of cool trap." wanting to do it again. But no.. just bones on the floor.

Everything in Skyrim wants to kill people. Bones, wagons, food, pottery. Us Dragonborn may very well have to save the world from an uprising of non-living objects. The game will be called Planet of the Angry Objects.

I was messing around in Whiterun when bored one time, decided to jump into the sign that flings back and forth a few times at the Blacksmiths and the sign just decided to fling me backwards into the air, needless to say I hit an invisible barrier, and then fell to the ground with a splat. Thank god for autosave.

I'm pretty sure my companion fell on his own sword. He died in a gate trap, and his body was green with a paralysis effect and frosted up- there was no enemy anywhere around, but he had frost and paralysis enchantment on his sword.

Argh. That almost happened to me once. I swear they programmed the bastard to do this sort of thing. He popped out of his coffin at a dragon nest - probably the same one you were at - and immediately the bastard scooted his ass straight over to the very edge of the cliff. It was almost like you was saying "Hey, [censored] you buddy. Go on, you kill me an all the loot is gonna slide down the damn mountain." Fortunately I managed to shield-bash him away from the cliff before killing him.

I've heard of similar posts about being killed by a mudcrab (in Oblivion) for much the same thing. Loosing most of the Player Characters health during a battle then meeting a mudcrab before healing.

And in Skyrim, I think someone posted about being killed by a rooster.

But I've never heard of a killer cabbage before.

I was killed by an arrow to the knee, too much? lol nah but I was killed by my horse. Shadowmere attacked the giant at the same time I did and hit me instead, i was so pissed lol. That and for some odd reason my companions and guards keep getting in the way of my hits and stealing my kill animations. Either that or I accidentally kill them, i did my kill animation on lydia once by accident when she walked right into my stealth hit.

One time near an imperial camp i saw a soldier go to kill a mud crab. Except when he unsheathed his weapons he somehow managed to decapitate himself and the mud crab continued it's reign of terror.
