I never do (caused too much trouble in previous games), and haven't yet seen any supernova-Nirnroots either.
I never use quickload and am experiencing the issue.
Super-ultra-glowing-nirnroot, pick it up, glow stays, open console, click the glow, type "disable", hit enter. (Repeat until all glow is gone!)
No big deal?
I've been doing that too, but it's annoying to have to do it with every single nirnroot, even if it's just the ones in areas that I visit often. I never actually visted the (a?) nirnroot farm, for example—I never had the map marker show up, or anything—but I passed by often enough that I started to get noticeable lag when I was anywhere near it. Took about 15 minutes to get rid of all of the glows, and I'm pretty sure those ones respawn too
(unless respawning nirnroot was a bug that's been fixed by one of the patches). It's a bug that definitely affects playability, and contributes to savegame bloat which is a problem in itself. It should be fixed on those grounds alone—nevermind the fact that none of the console players who are also experiencing this issue can just open up a console and delete everything.
