I'm still trying to resolve jittery stuttering, which feels like about 10 FPS, (although everything else is animated at the correct framerate). This is most noticeable in Thaumaturgist's Hut (alchemy store), in Morthal. Anyone with a similar issue please correspond so we might see if there's anything we have in common. Because it seems not everyone has the issue.
This is driving me flipping insane. I have tried just about everything in the world.
I have spent the majority of 2 days trying to resolve this by any means necessary, not including the several days of beta testing I did where I tried to get help with the issue and reported the problem.
There are several things of note here:
- Earlier versions of Skyrim.exe (like TESV 1.3) also have jittering in the same areas of certain interiors, but not nearly this bad. I'm really irritated that it is much worse, rather than fixed.
- The issue is present in completely vanilla Skryim, untouched ini files, and verified Steam files
- My computer easily maintains 60FPS. The problem manifests regardless, when memory and GPU resources are barely used.
- Playing the game in Windowed mode resolves the issue, however it introduces unacceptable levels of screen tearing.
- Removing V-sync and using a framelimiter resolves the jittery issue, however it introduces unacceptable levels of screen tearing.
- Something in these interiors is synced to something other than 60Hz? Perhaps it is the light?
- Deleting every object in the interior besides a few objects for reference do not resolve the issue. (I don't see a way to delete the actual light, so again, the finger points at this).
- Looking at certain parts of the interior seem worse than others.
- Turning off all NPC AI does not resolve the issue
- Reducing every graphics option to low and disabling every graphic enhancement feature does not resolve the issue.
- Waiting 40 in game days did not make any difference.
- Using a new character did not make any difference.
On average, 1 out of 20 times I go in Thaumaturgist's Hut, the issue is not present! I have verified this 3 times. Here are some of the places I have noted the issue:Places with the issue seem to share assets (stairs, fireplace, etc.) with other places with the issue, meaning it is something in the assets causing it. - Thaumaturgist's Hut (alchemy store), in Morthal -- Everywhere (shares assets with below "Stairs Upstairs, Counter, Fireplace")
- In Windhelm, at the Temple of Talos -- Standing in front of the Shrine, standing in front of the bed. (REALLY BAD here too), My FPS says 60FPS.
- College of Winterhold, Hall of Attainment -- Inside, facing the door to Skyrim (issue is not present in Hall of Countenance; perhaps this will help you troubleshoot, by seeing what's different between them)
- Helgen Keep, the spiral staircase, the fireplace,
- Dawnstar Barracks -- Stairs and Upstairs
- The Mortar and Pestle -- Stairs and Upstairs
- Birna's Oddments -- Stairs and Upstairs, facing the counter.
- The White Hall - up close to the throne, and upstairs
- Winterhold -- Jarl's Longhouse - up close to the throne, and upstairs
- Kraldar's House -- Fireplace
- Breezehome -- Everywhere, particularly bad at the Cooking Pit, Dinner Table, Front Door, all upstairs cupboards/nightstands
- The Drunken Huntsman -- Everywhere.
- All Whiterun stores have it, somewhat, for example looking at the Door in Warmaidens
The game is unplayable for me, unless I use a different EXE, and then, performance is not optimized. Please take a look at this Beth. Hopefully, you can fix it like you did the mouselook synced to framerate, in another patch.
