I love the Direct Hit. It's all I use for the soldier. As a result I've become pretty accurate with it.

Same. However my formly pro friend hates me because of it.

Namely because it svcks as a rocket jumping weapon. He ran circles around me when we played some rocket jumping basketball.

It really svcks when you get dominated the whole game cause everyone has fancey weapons and you dont.
I did manage to find the Atomizer for the scout and one spy pistol.

The default scout, soldier, demo, heavy, engi, medic, spy and sniper weapons are all as good or better than the unlocks. The backburner is better than the starting flamethrower, but you cant compression blast as much with it, which I do a lot.

The other weapons are all good, but they aren't really an advantage.

Basically, a builder doesn't blame his tools :P

I airblast too much to use the Backburner. But mostly I use the default flamethrower from force of habit. From back when the Backburner couldn't airblast at all.

I've also become rather good at killing Heavies with my Flare Gun.

Well I started on 360 like 2/3 years ago (as of Christmas my computer has been able to run TF2 without awful lag). I hated pyro it just didn't suit my play style at the time. So the second I found the backburner I fell in love.

The default rocket launcher is still the best tool for the soldier, same with the default sticky gun and flamethrower.

All of those things are true, except for the flamethrower. The Degreaser, for the most part, is superior, since the axestinguisher puts out far more damage than the flamethrower could ever hope to.

In addition, the default revolver for the spy is insane and an amazing weapon. The default minigum is awesome as well (although, due to Tamislav being overpowered as hell right now, not as useful as it once was before the patch).

Most weapons in this game are SIDEGRADES, which means you don't get any better or worse, you just get different. Most of the time, at least. Some weapons, due to certain imbalances, are strictly upgrades, like how The Enforcer's downside of .5 longer cloak time does NOT affect the Dead Ringer, making it a straight damage upgrade for Dead Ringer spies.

Usually, most perceived OPness or UPness is simply new players being new players, except in a few cases. The Heavy is most definitely overpowered right now, and the pyro is most definitely in a very bad spot, at least in higher level play (in low level they demolish people). Many people also will say the Spy is either supremely overpowered (they're new and don't understand spy checking and how spies work), or supremely underpowered (they play spy and simply wade into the enemy lane and wonder why they get spy checked).

Just don't get too close to them and they're easy to take out. The default revolver does enough damage to kill them in about 3 shots.

Any pyro worth his/her/its gasmask should set everyone they see on fire.

Ambassador works well too, but takes about 4 well placed shots instead. Personally, I've forced myself to use the Ambassador lately because I need the practice. If you get good at headshots with it then it becomes a tool for destruction. Think of the Ambassador as a kind of ranged backstab.

Hehehe counter sniping snipers as a Spy is also very satisfying.

I don't know why sniper's even bother to equip the Razorback anymore. Any spy worth his or her salt will simply pull out their revolver/Ambassador and shoot them to death with no retaliation.

Short answer: New spies.

Long answer: New spies who don't check the wiki or the Mann Co Catalog and have no idea what a Razorback is. :P

I got in a shouting (well caps lock) match with a spy I saved from a sniper using a razor back. He thought I was stealing his kills when in fact I was saving him being destroyed by the other team.

People like that annoy me to no end, not in the least because they are the people who give the rest of the community a bad impression of the newer players like myself. Who cares if you're "kill stealing" in the first place? Number of kills doesn't matter much so long as you're actually trying to help with the objective.

kodiak_jack97 I believe.

My screen name is Skoomaholic.

@Riverstyx this was pre-free to play. So may they have been a new user just not the uber new player level of new player I've seen in the past few days.

Its even better if the people start fighting of they killed you while you used the Dead Ringer.

Finally getting back into the groove again, after getting dominated hard for a few days.

Currently rocking either Scout with Soda Popper + Mad Milk + Boston Basher/Sandman, or Medic with Blautgytadfgaur (that healing gun), and ubersaw.

It's fun getting a heavy by shooting him with a crit or two from the popper, mad milking him, then hitting him once or twice with the basher and running off while your health regens and the heavy bleeds to death :D

I once blasted a stickybomb back to the feet of the demoman who fired it. The detonation sent him flying off into the abyss. I wasn't credited for that kill, but it was satisfying nevertheless.

Many people also will say the Spy is either supremely overpowered (they're new and don't understand spy checking and how spies work), or supremely underpowered (they play spy and simply wade into the enemy lane and wonder why they get spy checked).

The spy is definitely OP right now. So many clueless engies standing about. I hope they wise up soon.

Simple: shooting hurts, stabbing kills. Those extra few shots provide a window of opportunity. It's not guaranteed but seeing your enemy before he kills you is less annoying.
