Simple: shooting hurts, stabbing kills. Those extra few shots provide a window of opportunity. It's not guaranteed but seeing your enemy before he kills you is less annoying.

You will not see me before I kill you. One headshot with the ambassador and then a body shot is enough to kill a sniper..

Ugh, this free-to-play thing is cool and all, but dear lord the new influx of players is terrible. I've been losing matches to the SAME TACTIC over and over and over again because new players keep falling for it. Medic/Pyro comboes would just uber in and destroy all our engineer's stuff, and we had no pyros around to stop them with airblasts. This happened three times in a row. There's only so much one player can do. I switched to medic, I switched to demo, tried my usual spy, and I just couldn't cut it.

Basically, old ridiculous tactics that never worked just a year or so ago are now working because new players have no clue what to do. Don't get me started on dead ringer spies.

I've noticed this as well. For example, on a Payload game earlier today, we were able to use the same strategy every. single. round. on offense. Just your basic heavy (with yours truly as the heavy)/medic combo pushing the cart. The closest we came to losing was on the first round when an engineer was smart enough to put up a level 3 sentry on a balcony near a reverse slope that managed to hold us up until about the last minute, then for some reason they stopped doing that and just regressed into the basic "shoot things with no coordination whatsoever" tactic.

It's a new crate that you can't open with normal keys. They'll probably do some event where they give out keys like they did with the Christmas crates.

EDIT: Give it cows? What?

Sounds like you need me.

How do you mute people? Or just everyone? Nobody really talks, but when they do it's obnoxious as all hell. Maybe it was better before it went free, I don't know, but this last match was insane. These two guys were spewing things you'd expect a 12 year old to say, except they sounded like teenagers, and nobody was saying anything to them because I guess they knew they wouldn't stop anyway. I looked quickly for a mute button in the match but didn't find one, hopefully I just overlooked it.

While you are playing the game press escape button, once that menu pops up, on the bar that says "resume" you will see three small buttons, one of them has a symbol of an ear on it which is the mute button, you can silence individual people from there so that you are not forced to mute everyone, just the ones that are being annoying.

As for the manners of the players, i personally don't feel it has much to do with free to play coming in, there have always been servers with no admin where frankly [censored] rule the roost, and other much friendlier servers where admin are everywhere and kick trouble makers quickly.

Try any of the ukcs servers, i always play there and they are friendly and professional, although nowadays trying to get a spot on them is really hard as they are always jam-packed, TBR servers are also pretty good, i think they have some based in USA so your ping won't suffer if you are from there, whenever entering a server, if it has a rules page where it states that it will not tolerate offensive language etc then you know it's going to be fairly pleasant for the most part.

Found a summer cooler anyone know what it does?

i have no idea what that is, but it sounds cool! :)

Anyone else the Tomislav is a tad bit over-powered given the situation? I am usually dominating the other slow spin-up heavies with it.

I'm still undecided on Tomislav, it allows for a more offensive heavy in that you can move quickly, but against a heavy that is prepared, i.e. one who keeps his gun spinning as he turns corners, then normal heavy usually wins, on 2-Fort the other day i didn't lose a single life as heavy against tomislav heavies simply because i span my barrel on turning corners, it must be a pain for people who play scout though i guess, as tomislav speed means they are in the firing line straight away.
