In terms of what is the best solo class in the game, I'd rank them like so:

1) Hunter (beast master spec). Fast levelling, high damage, virtually no downtime, solo elites and group quests without a problem.
2) Warlock (affliction till Outlands, then demonology spec) Same as hunter - little downtime, elites and group quests handled with relative ease.
3) Druid (feral). High melee damage, swift travel forms, self-healing, can tank.
4) Paladin. High melee damage, self-heals, movement speed increases via talents.
.
.
.
.
The rest :D

Edit to answer your question: you can change your spec any time you like, as long as you have the gold to pay for it. The first time you do it it costs 1 gold, then each time it gets more expensive until a maximum of 50 gold. Later in the game when you've amassed 1000 gold you can buy dual-spec, meaning you can switch between two different specs without having to pay a trainer.

I was planning on going Hunter, but I just wasn't sure what to choose. I might make one.

That's cool. Probably end up doing something like that.

Oh yeah, one last question.. is there any type of solo farming that makes a lot of money? Or a decent amount of money or anything? Or is it all group gotten?

If it's your first character you will want to take up a gathering profession to make some money. You can choose between mining, skinning and herbalism (these are the major gathering professions. There are other professions like engineering and jewelcrafting but they are expensive and not recommended for new characters). Mining and skinning are probably your best bet to start out with. You'll find animals to skin everywhere, and you'll find mining nodes as you travel about. Ask the guards for the location of mining and skinning trainers when you're level 6. Once you've bought the skills then buy a mining pick and a skinning knife. You're then good to go. If you haven't got enough money to buy the professions then just keep killing everything you see to pick up their loot and sell everything you don't need. Eventually you'll have enough. As your mining skill progresses you'll be able to sell stacks of 20 copper bars on the auction house. Same with skinning, you'll eventually have stacks of 20 leather, 20 medium leather and so on.

When you reach lvl 80 you can solo lower level instances to make some easy gold, but you'll also make some nice cash just raiding and doing daily quests.

Alright, that's what I was thinking was gonna happen. Kind of like LOTRO in a way, that crafting is one of the ways you make money consistently.

Thanks for the info. Sneakmaster, when I was talking about classes that can solo best, I meant out of all of them, but if all have the ability to solo then that works.

Do I have the ability to change from DPS class to tank, or when I pick that spec am I stuck with it? Cause if I do decide to group up and do one of the smaller dungeons I might tank.

You can pay for a respecc, or once you hit level 40 you can pay 1000 gold to be able to have two specs. I haven't even done that yet on either of my 80's. Find a spec you like and stick to it I say.

EDIT: Oh yeah, if you're interested in hunter I say go for it, personally I think it's an awesome class to play.

And once you're familiar with the game I really recommend finding a guild and getting into the social aspect of the game, personally I think it gets really boring if not for all the friends I have there, both from real life and people I've met through the game. I've even gone and visited two of my guildmates in Sweden :P

It is quite funny though, when I queue for dungeons I always get myself and 2 other hunters if I'm DPS. Usually on my mage I get all the cloth stuff. :D

I'm using my free week right now and I'm rolling a human pally on Windrunner. Would have gone Horde but my friends like the Alliance more.
How long does the armory take to update? My character isn't showing up.

You have to be level 10 to show up on the Armory.

You have to be level 10, at least. It can take a few hours to update (my rogue was level 12 by the time it updated the Armory).

EDIT: Damn you, Avis. :P

Nightfall battlegroup from my experiences is mostly Alliance winning. Horde get down 150 or so points and then people start rolling over.

I have terrible experiences with the Alliance and PvP. Horde seem to be the clear dominators most of the time, though we get the occasional victory, and sometimes we even stomp the Horde. Not usually, though.

I'm in the Blackout battlegroup and alliance seemed to win most of the time back when I was farming black war wolf on my DK. Though that was a few months ago.

While leveling my horde rogue I got that AB achievement to win 1600 - 0 a certain amount of times by the time I was level 30, so yeah I guess it is :P

edit: Urge, I'm in Blackout too!

That achievement seems, more or less, impossible to get. At least for me. We rarely win AB as it is, so I highly doubt we could win 1600 - 0.

EDIT: I'm on Stormstrike, if you're wondering.

That's because The Mighty Horde pwns all, those weakly Alliance [censored]ers don't stand a chance

Stormstrike has Mal'ganis on it. That server has like 99% horde players and they always have a queue. Don't know about those other servers but you're not going to get any help from Mal'ganis.

I'm kind of lost now though. I'm level 11. And there's nothing to do in goldshire, storwind and I'm not a high enough level for Westfall.

The NPCs by the road when you come in have a few quests around 10-12. Also, at level 12 you get your Paladin quest so that's extra XP. You'll start wizzing through those levels.

Okay sweet. Hah, must've somehow missed those very first npcs. I have a couple of talent points, any input on how I should distribute them? Like in what categories?

Holy/Wep+Shield = Healing
Retribution/2h Wep = DPS
Protection/Wep+Shield = Tank

I suggest Retribution for leveling. Put your first 5 into the talent that lowers mana cost of instant spells.

EDIT: Also, what realm you on? I might hop on and play for a bit. :P

Protection is amazing with the new dungeon tool. Instant groups and amazing survivability, I had a resto shaman friend and we 2manned Ring of Blood and Ampitheater of Anguish with no problems at all. With protection you can also level a bit in pvp and take on 3 - 5 people at a time and still come out with full hp.
