CK updated today

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 3:31 am

Anyone seen a patch list? I might have missed it, but I don't see one. I'd be curious if any big bugs were fixed, or if it's just a minor compatibility stuff.

He meant the CK patchnotes, which I cannot find anywhere either.

Don't think there were many changes other than to make it compatible with the new version of the game !

Oh God, now what's going to go wrong when we try the CK. Watch version control stop working, or the CK make oscape files not work. I'm staying offline until everyone says its safe to come back out.

Well I haven't played ingame yet, but it seems to work just fine. I can see all my LOD in the render window, and have no issues. (Yet :P)

CTD fast travel bug Introduced through the 1.5 patch or through esp files made with the new CK?

Can you clarify?

Yeah what exactly do you mean by this? I just tested my mod and I could fast travel no problems. Though, again I should mention that it's an esm, and I wasn't in Tamriel.

So...any esp files created or edited with the CK will result in crashes upon fast travel?

It seems to be an issue caused by esps that had altered/added navmeshes. Also, the face export bug is still not fixed. I'm getting the feeling we're never getting a proper fix for this one, at least not an official one (though you never know). Looks like I'm going to need to figure out HTF people are working around this glitch.

Well, that may seem bad, but Amethyst says they fixed the NAVmesh bug? That's huge, considering they haven't fixed it for over 7 years through their various games, if I remember right. I'm happy!

Well, I can confirm the esp CTD crash on fast travel bug. Took an esp that was overwriting an esm file and made a change and saved. Loaded it up, fast traveled around a bit, no problems. Fast traveled to the edited location and BAM, ctd. Loaded up an esp that was not edited with the current CK and fast travel works fine.

In my opinion that is WAY worse than the navmesh issue. I can't update any of my player homes until that is fixed.

Hope Bethesda is reading this stuff.

Yeah, I think the news of the navmesh fixes is good, but the reports of CTDs sounds a little disconcerting, though. Could be just an issue with navmesh data from the old version to the new, and hopefully isn't a brand new bug that is going to ruin mod projects. It better not be a new bug, there's enough of those already. Though it's sounding like it may be a new bug, and has nothing to do with navmeshes.

Anyone else having a problem loading the CK? After the update to 1.5, my CK just eats 4Gb of ram (according the the task manager) and sits there with the spinner.

I've tried deleting and re-downloading, uninsatelling through Steam and re-downloading, and running the CK with Steam offline and online. The same issue persists in any permutation.

Please Help!

When does it do this? Right when you open it? When you load? After you sucessfully load?

It does this as it starts up. I see the Splash screen an then watch the memory climb to 3.9 - 4.0 Gb. It never goes past the splash screen.

Oh, this is only when using the CK. The game itself loads and appears to be playing just fine.

Update: Apparently, whatever was causing the problem was in (or due to) the SkyrimEditorCustom.ini and once I deleted the file, the CK started and loaded correctly.

  • Well, I got the CK update (via Steam) but no TESV.exe update (still at 1.427). After the CK update, there is a Steam box (which Steam says if there is a bug that Steam is responsible for, then it must originate related to a Steam box) that has a link to patch news related to the CK update. However, the link has no substance. And Steam has no patch news related to the 1.5 patch either. It seems Steam has a regular news section related to patches, updates: They're just really old for Bethesda. BTW I've looked all over for the patch notes also. Search for CK patch returns nothing on this site too.

BTW what's with the "Warn Status" at the bottom of my posts.

Navmesh bug fixed???? Oh, thank you so much, Bethesda. That really is the absolute worst bug, it makes almost any new addition to the world game breaking.

That is normal -- shows you how close to getting banned your account is ! --- shows up on all of your post but only you can see it - so nothing to worry about. (Unless of course it is almost full !!)

Yes, fixed the navmesh bug but introduced more bugs. Fast travel ctd with new map markers, ctds when exiting my player home cells. For instance, go through a door, go back through the door..and back through and CTD. Or go through door to exterior. Try to enter cell through same door, CTD. Wonderful stuff...

Took them 4 years to fix the navmesh bug. How many years to fix this one? I kid...I kid...it svcks though.
