Vampire Upgrades?

Agreed, I hate to see folks shoot down ideas that would be optional from the start. I wanted a jumping height Vampire perk or jumping height enchantment added to Skyrim.......I had more pro than con, But the con just felt like they had to voice their opinions on how it would be fake and this and that........Sigh, I hate a lot of thing people are asking for in Dlc........Like Dog Armor, Mud Crab Armor..........etc, But will you will not see me in that thread complaining. It would be a option to use that item. Sig

The reason I say nay is because there are other things I would much rather see. Mounted combat, improved Werewolves, seasonal foliage, expanding the guild questlines, more clothes, armor, and weapons available to choose from, the ability to remove the look of enchantments from the weapons, an improved HUD and UI, all of these things are things that take precedents for me over a terrible looking Vampire Lord. I hate the look of it plain and simple.

Things I'd like to see improve Skyrim's Vampire:

Grotesque appearance like the Volkihar Vampires.

Permanent muffle effect as long as you're a vampire.

Increased rates of Health, Stamina, and Magicka regen the higher stage of vampirism you're at (at night).

Ability to turn into mist (similar to Become Ethereal)

Ability to walk on water at higher stages of vampirism.

Vampirism levels up the more you feed, not the reverse.




Yeah because they only had a week to work on it.... :facepalm:

Or because they based it on the Vampire Lords from the Underworld franchise.

again if you dont like it dont use it , also the demon form of a vampire looked like this far before underworld

If it does get implemented, I won't use it. However, I argue against it being implemented over things that I'd much rather see. There's a finite amount of time they'll spend developing new content for this game, and I don't want them to work on this when they could be working on something I think is much more interesting.

but its true the vampire system is a fail they copied from oblivion, but then in stock morrowind it was horrible aswel


id prefer a system like the 'vampire embrace' mod brings in morrowind.

again underworld copied the vampire demon form this existed before then, and vampires have had minions of demonic sorts like gouls but i agree with the vampire embrace mod being turned real it would implement some much needed backbone to the normal vampire

I'm aware of this, and if ever you disagree with me you're more than free to object. I'm more than willing to have a dialogue about this. I don't think threads should be a place where you either have to agree with the OP or not voice your opinion. We can have a conversation about this. To me, I don't see why the Vampire Lord and Imps are a good idea. I don't think they're supported by lore or anything like that, and besides that the idea just doesn't appeal to me.

I love playing a Vamp. Especially at stage 4 all the time. As far as the other stuff that was shown in the Jam...

I could see using things like the Imp minions, battle feedings, alternate feedings (animals)...but not the FVL. I do not want to turn into a giant imp and float around like like a Lych. I want killer looking Vamp clothes w/ a cape that doesn't like a giant piece of cardboard.

either way, the point is that the way vampires are portrayed there, be it copied from something else is irrelevant, simply doesnt match the elder scrolls vampires


therefor, anything involving things such as demon minions/flying and all just doesnt work

vampires have thralls here, basically enslaved people. while we dont have have that option in the stock game its very easy to mod it

oh the imps are not important at all truth be told i just want the satisfaction of being able to be like dracula (vanhellsing) i just really want the transformation even if the flying was limited to dragon priest floating (but flying would still be amazing :D) however they should reverse the feeding plan i agree weaker as we eat? since when did that work???

sorry for double post but not everyone has the abillity to have mods and ruling it out because of that is very short sighted Molag Bal made vampires who is to say he couldnt make them more evil to match the lord of the hunts hounds? Daedra are the embodiment of change anything can change like azura's star or a mortal becoming sheogorath. it works you just do not agree and i can respect that also thralls are undead zombies

Flight is out because of the loading zone issues.

They went to great lengths to stop players entering or leaving...uh...Whiterun for example in any way other than the gates (dont limit it that one example though...I know this is the internet and all but jeez) and theyll be damned if theyll let you just fly over a wall.

"Thrall" is just a term for some sort of servant.

I don't think Molag Bal would just suddenly add this ability out of the blue. He might decide to create a new form of vampirism but I don't think he'd just go "Bam! Enjoy the new wings!" to all the preexisting strains of vampirism, especially as a way to challenge Hircine. Hircine and Molag Bal don't have any sort of rivalry going.

The only major change to any vampires was done by Vile anyway. Maybe someone will make another deal with him that will grant a certain strain of vampirism a beast form, but I'm not counting on it.

I thought that was Clav Vile...

Vile allowed the Cyrodiilic vampires to blend in with humans by altering them, but Molag Bal is the original creator of vampires.

nah it was vile who made it so the vampires could survive in sunlight during stage one

molag bal made the first vamp true enough, but i think that was more of a result of the situation than actual purpose

vaermina is also mixed in since the cure came from her


i dont think hircine would change them, hes got his werepuppets to toy with and i think vampires are more parasites than hunters

Yes, they need fleshing out and fixing.

I think it's also time for a really deep and engaging vampire story line or faction. Seeing as how they are supposed to be immortal, it makes no sense that they would not be in more places of power and be pulling the strings during some of these major conflicts.

I see...I don't claim to be a TES lore buff, that is for sure. I tried to get more in touch with the lore side, but I get lost in translation.

you can have thralls, not vampire ones but one of the higher level (sure its master) conjuration spells allows you to have a thrall...

op i like the idea of a vampire skill tree. i think u could have 3 branches to it one side volkihar skills, the middle your basic vampire skills then, the third side cyrodil vampire skills. All leading to the vampire lord at the top, it may not be lore friendly but i surely wont say no to extra content. am sure you could roleplay it in somehow...

seeing that theres not many vampires in skyrim (not as many as what i hoped anyway) " a blight upon tamriel has been sent in the form of a vampire lord. moulded by the daedric prince
molag bol, this creature of the night has been created to restore the dwindleing volkihar clan back to former glory and a insult to arkay..." bla bla bla you get the idea could even throw a dlc centered round it...

bethesda i want royalties and rights if you do lol :wink:

All I want for my vampire is what is already in most vampire lore. Supernatural speed, strength and jumping. And yes feeding in combat would be great.

feeding in combat..yeh that was amissed opportunity, could even be a ''hand to hand'' finishing kill cam, would be kinda cool to see your vamp in all its glory, in slow-mo :P

just some quests and a clan or two would be my preference i have no qaulm with how they are no to be honest.

Before facepalming yourself..you should reread what i've said.Let me help you a little
I dont know about the vampire lord thing...they have to change the animation..the one in the game jam vid looked aweful..if they put some more work into the vampire lord, it could be a nice thing to have.
Both vampires and werewolves are weak in Skyrim..there is no real point in playing them.They really have to do something about it.
And yes,i know the stuff was done within a week...that's why i said,what i said..makes sense?hope you understand it now :cool:

I think the Items from the jam video would make vampire Waaaay more fun

*Battle feeding

*flying Vampire Lord

*imp minions

and perhaps a skill tree, vamps are way to underpowered compared to their cousins in cyrodiil i think and this would really give them the boost they need but hey thats my opinion what do you guys think?

I hope so. All of the things I saw in the video from Todd Howard looked sweet. I'd love to have much more depth at both Vampire as well as Werewolf.

So we can only hope with the DLC... whenever that drops.

I'm ready Bethesda! Bring on the SI size expansion! I've got my MSP just ready and waiting for the news that the DLC is dropping on a random date!!! ;)
