Was this game designed for the 360 or what....

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:36 pm

I was also watching a playthrough on the PC version and the load times were massive between areas...360 load times are fairly quick and blazing fast in comparison to the PC playthrough I was watching

It was taking me about 30 seconds - 1 minute to change areas on Xbox360, and around 2-3 seconds on a PC (and not that high spec).

You can tell it is made for 360 user interface is not as good as it could be on PC.I assume the general lack of enemies in the game is down to the Xbox limitations???just guessing that but walking about for miles and seeing one bear is BS i think,At about 300+ hours i had a nightmare with my save games they all vanished only 3 auto saves left in my folder got them to work thank god, lost a lvl 50 Mage due to the failings of the game. The game could have been so much better if it was designed for PC first then adapted to the console.Thank god some companies like CDProjekt know the way to do it instead of porting all over the place.

Just remember, the PC will never die because all your wonderful consoles are designed from it and have all your games made on it.
The console will always owe the PC and if anything dies first it would have to be the console for the console cannot exist without the PC.

So those of you trying to sound like your better off should be thanking the PC crowd for helping to get you here.
If the PC gamers had their way, nobody but them would play the game. (Hell, if they had their way, nobody but them would play any video games.)

Yes, but its true. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that PC gamers did not usher in the modern era of gaming and birthed the consoles you hold so dearly.

Then PCs are 25% of the market? That is a very large minority, not a niche.

20%, but I'm pretty sure the guy you're responding you is using a very rough estimate if he's not entirely guessing.

It's about time Sony and Microsoft pulled their corporate fingers out, they're holding back game development. It's a game of poker where neither wants to show their latest technological hand before the other. While the current generation of consoles are still kicking around, PC gaming will not progress to it's full potential.

Game development has been intentionally stifled to even up the odds in the marketplace.

The PC crowd can go to hell. They're a bunch of elitist pricks. Or, at least most of them are.
I fail to see how knowing the PC is a better platform is elitist it is a known fact the Xbox is holding developers back .What alot of PC gamers get sick of is games being dumbed down to run on the Xbox and as a result us PC gamers get a straight port very few companies take the time to make it better or optimize it for PC.I would not mind if developers took a few extra months it release a TRUE PC game instead they think of dollar signs and as a result we get annoyed. The sooner the next generation console comes out the better the Xbox is past its used by date.

Why are you guys still fighting? It's such a pointless, beaten-to-death argument.

But if you guys want to mindlessly throw the same iteration of the same argument for "your" platform against others, go right on ahead. Just the same elitism and arrogance.

Except no, that's not logic. Logic is looking at the game sales and seeing Bethesda sold over 75% of copies to console users for both Oblivion AND Skyrim. That, good sir, is logic.

The only thing modders are keeping alive are the pc users. Which are again a minority. So what's your point?

My point is the quality of the game, not the sales figures. Bethesda had the choice of developing the game for PC, thus having the platform to develop the best game using the current available technology, but opted for the platform that would net the higher sales figures. It was a conscious choice, and a good one, financially, but the game came up short because of it.

What?

Even without an SSD, my load times are about 5 times faster than the 360 footage I've seen. Though I will admit that footage might have been taken from copys that weren't installed to the 360's hard drive.

I never go beyond 10 seconds with my load times on the PC and even then, that's only for the inital load of the game world. After that, they rarely surpass 5.

I thought this might be okay, if some of you wanted to discuss, but I already got several reports and some of the posts in here are sketchy, so I will close it before I have to warn anyone.

Also, I am well over 200 hours in on my PC game, and my load times are superfast - that has NEVER been a problem.
