SCREW DOOM BETH, GIVE US TES:V DAMMIT

Think first. Bethesda is not working on Doom (or Brink, Rage and Demon's Forge for that matter). They are being published by Zenimax. id Software is owned by Zenimax. Bethesda is owned by Zenimax. Bethesda Softworks has little or nothing to do with these titles.

I wonder what made you guys choose the pinky demon as the forum icon.

Sweet! I haven't been in a doom forum since i left Doomworld.com, i was in Doom3world.org but it became politics3world.org. Good to see a new one.

Use http://dengine.net/. All you need is the original game files, which you put in the specified folders, and you can play just fine. Even use mods, mouse input (after using Doomsday for nearly 2 years now, I can't live without the mouse), and other stuff. Its very easy to use also.

If you can live without the eyecandy, i would rather recommend http://zdoom.org, it feels closer to the classics, and you can make it work exaclty like the originals (no z-axel, 320x200 resolution, all the original bugs :D).

This isn't something about Doom itself, but more like something to do with the forum structure...
In other Games' subforums, the last option has a link to the Community Discussion. This one doesn't.

I don't mean to sound naggy or anything, Its totally cool, I just wanted to bring it to your attention.
Are you planning on putting it in there or just..?

I'm very shocked, surprised, baffled Beth had anything to do with Doom. Wow.

Hell, it's about [censored] time!

Oh God, this is great. Almost all of my favorite games have official forums on one site.

I'm loving the fact that this background looks like some of the original artwork.

I told them in the mod's forum that we don' need no steenkin' CD, this is Doom! I'll likely be ignored though and it'll be added.

BETHESDA HAD, AND HAS, NOTHING TO DO WITH DOOM.

The only thing they have in common with Doom now is that Bethesda is publishing all further Id games. That's IT.

Awesome, I was wondering when we would get a Doom forum here since Bethesda is publishing it now. The background is awesome too.

Oh man, I remember trying to show my friend where some of the secrets are in Heretic last year after being used to Doomsday and failing so hard without mouse control.

Since we're here at the welcome topic for the new forum I guess I'll post this here. I was looking at the background and decided I liked it, so if anyone else wants to look at it all the time while they're on the forums like myself I made a quick skin for Firefox's Stylish addon to apply it to all the boards. So, if I stay here for seven years do I get to claim the void in the Doom forum space as my own to rule?
I need to get people off my property.

Well i never played DOOM2 or any of the previous titles, though i did play DOOM3 and it was quite scary,at least in the first parts of the game.
I really hope DOOM4 will live up to its hype.

The first (and last) shooter to make me nauseous. Doom was a seminal game back in the DOS days. I am intrigued by what this change of ownership can mean for the Doom franchise and looking forward to a better effort than DOOM3 (which I found disappointing)

Hey, what about a Duke Nukem board! Buy 3D Realms and come get some!

I miss the days when I played Doom on my old PC.
Good days.

I wonder what made you guys choose the pinky demon as the forum icon.

They'd make pretty sweet candidates, eh?

Because that demon was the greatest enemy in Doom

Well... the Doomguy's face would only be emblematic of the first two. The pinky, on the other hand, has and always will be there in some form or another, and generally they always look similar. Plus, the Pinky is the "squarest" of the demons in the game, so it fits nice in the box. Also, the Pinky was on the cover of Gameinformer a while back, so people know about it.
