Werebears and Spears... maybe next DLC?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:06 pm

I would really like them because

1. I loved them in Morrowind
2. I really want to have a spear and a sheild (although idk if Beth would make them one-handed) but anyways they would be a nice addition to the game.
it would be cool if they made throwable ones two i would love to run around just flinging them into peoples heads XD

Haha yeah and they would be nice to have when a Dragon decides to show up just toss on right into his chest and watch him crash.

Remember, aim for the missing scale above his heart.

Back on topic, I hope bethesda adds various types of spears like one handed, two handed and javelins. But I'll be fine if we just get two handed.

I think Werebears would need a bit of an unorthodox fix, that fix being werewolves. As stated before, they're somewhat glass cannons. Make them stealthy, give them an ability to stalk low to the ground and prowl around sneaking. To creep up behind someone, and rip their throat out in a sneak attack.

We have 3 main skill sets. Thief, Warrior, and Mage.

Why shouldn't we have 3 transformations? Vampire Lord (Magic), Werewolf (Stealth), and Werebear (Brute).

Spears are a no brain answer. What is there to lose from adding them in? I'd love a two handed spear that could be thrown, by say pressing both attack and block to raise it up to aim.

People oppose these things but often offer no rebuttal, reason, or other solution.

Yeah a sneak would be pretty cool for a werewolf and I agree with the 3 transformations idea. That would satisfy the the Mages, Theifs, and "Warriors".

we should be able to crawl up trees so when travelers walk on the roads we can jump down from the trees all stealthy and eat them.

I dont see Beth adding this. I think the animations would look weird and and just wouldn't fit.

I'd say we can definitely expect spears to be added at some point, since there are so many people who want it, and they have already done it. I'm not sure about werebears though.

Speaking of new weapon additions, throwing stars, and darts would be cool too :D

I dont think throwing darts and stars fit Skyrim that well... knives maybe.

Just imagine, werebears playing more like a slow heavy armored warriors and having the ability to sprint and knock down people like the gamejam. Also when werebears sprint they should gobble up stamina(an idea from REL_Dovahkin), so you would have to be tactical on when you should sprint. They would also be all around slower then werewolves, so it may take awhile to get to your enemies, but when you do it would be a massacre.

As for werewolves, they would be more like light armored assassins and would basically have the same health and attack they do now with the perk tree. But by adding sneak, it would complement for them for having no defence and there would be a 5x multiplier for assassinations. So as a werewolf, you could enter a fort kill most bandits by sneaking and if you're caught you could either summon spectral werewolves and use them for distraction as you creep back into the darkness or you could join the spectral werewolves and use your speed to kill the bandits.

I agree. As it stands, werewolves have a real big issue against archers and mages. Give them a little something to help close the gap between them, other than sprinting full on and hoping to ragdoll enough to survive long enough to feed.

:foodndrink: I agree. Sneak would be relatively easy to add maybe just make it on all fours like when sprinting and add it in a patch or somthing.

Yeah, I can usually kill warriors, but archers and mages completley destroy me as a werewolf.

Bethesda could probably add sneak to the game sort of like how they did mounted combat.

Spears might make it in. But werebears? I don't think so. Maybe beth will prove me wrong but don't think it will happen.
I agree with what you said I can see spears being added, cant really see wearbears.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:On_Lycanthropy

Similar to a post I had earlier: It says that werewolves common to all of Tamriel, but if you scroll down it says "the werebear is the most common lycanthrope in Skyrim". So while werewolves may may be more wide spread, werebears still outnumber them in the province of Skyrim.
