Werebears and Spears... maybe next DLC?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:43 pm

Of course they COULD be added. The question is SHOULD they be added. Would an equal amount of time be more wisely spent on making something a little more popular as far as weapons go? I'd like to see the old ball and chain flail myself. Or, speaking of Morrowind weapons, why not throwing weapons (knives, stars, darts). A lot of weapons could be added, but should they? Would it be time well spent when compared to what else could have been added?

And don't say "Well don't be one then" garbage. Not being one doesn't give me back the things Bethesda could have added to the game if they hadn't been wasting time making something for a small percentage of players (like vampire lovers).

This is of course, all my opinion.
Well from what is see and hear on the forums the demand is high for Werebears. I don't know if you miss all the great Werebear threads before DG but alot of people were supporting Werebears and on the throwing weapons... well knives would fit I guess but darts and stars would be just ridiculous and wouldn't fit Skyrim at all, but Werebears on the other hand are apart of the lore and and fit the theme of Skyrim like many Norse sagas that involve men turning into bears.

Who told you werebears are the most common lycanthropes in skyrim?? It is actually werewolves.
There's a book in skyrim on it.

I think its funny how people say things not knowing the truth and not reading the lore to back up what they say.

The Lore actually does state that while there are Werebears in Skyrim, that Werewolves are more prolific.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:On_Lycanthropy

This book says it in the first couple of paragraphs.

It says that they're common to all of Tamriel, but if you scroll down it says "the werebear is the most common lycanthrope in Skyrim". So while werewolves may may be more wide spread, werebears still outnumber them in the province of Skyrim.

Yes werewolves are found in every part of Tamriel. Werebears are central to Skyrim.

I can read fine on normal font thank you. Sooner or later you will figure out that being bigger or Louder doesn't make you right.

To be honest I've seen more threads complaining about being forced to be a WW in the Companions quests than I have of people wanting to be werebears.

Nymphs are in the Lore also. I bet I could find a lot of people wanting Nymphs added to the game. Honestly with the 200 year jump between games it has allowed Bethesda to adjust the Lore of the world. Maybe all the werebears died. Maybe some hero decided he had enough of them and wiped them out (like the cliffracers). I'd like to know where my little blue Rieklings are. And what about Grahl! I'd love to find one or two of those.

Again, a lot of things that could be added. But should they?

Yes.

Unless you enjoy seeing the same ugly dragur in every one of the hundreds of tombs, there is absolutely no reason not to do more, aside from time and budget constraints that is. You don't like having werebears, fine. Then ignore their existence ingame. To suggest that they'd be exactly like werewolves is just silly.

Saying that "Maybe all the werebears died" would be a lazy excuse by bethesda. And unless if we travel to solstheim, I don't think we will see Rieklings and Grahl again.

Agreed. I think Beth has learned the lesson of forcing people to be werewolves through the Companions so I doubt they would make you be a Werebear. So you dont like them then avoid them and kill them. Simple enough...

I would love to have some more creatures to fight. And where are my Ice Weapons and Armor? How could they not put that in a Skyrim game! Wouldn't the Ice Weapons and Armor made a lot more sense than weapons and armor made from volcanic glass ... in Skryim.

These are things that I would love for them to add, long before adding another were-thing to be. But again, that's just my opinion. I'll be glad to let you keep yours. ;)

It would be nice to play as something new like a Werebear and I'm not asking for DLC focused solely on Werebears I'm just sayin like a side quest or a wild one infected me or somthing of that nature. Idk why people make it seem like if Werebears were added that the DLC would be just that and nothing else.

I'm definitely not against werebears but I honestly hope they focus their attention elsewhere on some other mechanic or more enemies. I just have a feeling that werebears wouldn't get used enough to warrant the amount of time it would take to perfect them. But if they are included sometime in the future...cool. spears on the other hand I am all for

Have you not see all the talk about them?? I highly doubt that Werebears wouldn't be used. There are may people that would play as a Werebear

After reading Hrolf's saga Kraka and books like The Hobbit made me real hyped for werebears, because the both involve men turning into bears. I was like thats cool because bethesda has somthing similar that's already in the lore and when Skyrim came out I was a little bit disapointed they weren't in the game. But I do understand that other people want different things and I respect their opinion.

This. Maybe in the 200 years, Hircine put out a call and reclaimed what is rightfully His. Maybe he wanted all Werebears safe in the Hunting Grounds during the Oblivion Crisis. Maybe the Werebears that did survive the Crisis were called to Him so that they could hunt with him in honor due to their kicking of the ass during the OC?

Who knows. But the point is that they're not in Skyrim. lol
