what are you afraid of

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:24 am

Heights. I never have nightmares about monsters or death. I dream of being stuck on the ledge of a high building. Human beings were just not made to go up high, we are supposed to be on the ground dangit.

And to a lesser extent, large wild animals. You will never see me in one of those "animal attack" videos. Most times, it seems those people put themselves in harms way because they dont respect the animals and act like they are either cute little cartoon characters or pets. That poor woman who got her face chewed off my the chimp? Sorry lady, but you never should have went anywhere near a chimp. Those are the only animals on the face of the earth aside from human beings who take glee in slowly torturing a victim, they sometimes do it to rival bands of chimps when they go on a raid by holding them down and pulling off various body parts. One time I went to a carnival and they were selling elephant rides. I was like "No way in hell am I getting on that thing!"

Tight spaces. And by that i mean tight spaces where i'm unable to move and have a change to be buried. As a kid me and my brother dug a tunnel through a pile of snow maybe two meters long, about in the middle was the closest to panicking i've ever been.

Bees, spiders, snakes, no problem, a pile of snow with a tunnel in it :bolt:

Why be afraid of a scientific fact?

Loss of wikipedia or an inaccess to it (no joke, although it's not really a scary thought I think about much. Only just thought of it when I saw the thread). I'll move out of the way of bees but I wouldn't say I'm scared of them. Spiders are just meh (don't really care unless there huge). To be honest I'm not afraid of thaat much I like tight spaces and don't mind heights, I suppose I might be scared of ticks but thats more revulsion. Hmm.... there must be something.... Well my family coming to harm is an obvious one but aside from that I'm having trouble....

Aging. I Like being able to drink all night when I go clubbign etc and not have a hang over :(

And Not meeting my potential, however high or low that may be. I'd hate to go through life selling myself short at every chance I get, so I avoid doing so if I can help it.

Silence. I need to keep my TV or fan in my room on at night, because it just gets very quiet. It's a rather irrational fear, but any noise other than dead silence helps me get over it. If it's a rainy night I can turn off my TV because the rain makes enough noise. I seriously have no idea why this is. I also can't sit in a quiet room and do my homework, I just lose all concentration and get all paranoid.

I wonder if my fear has a name?

And Not meeting my potential, however high or low that may be.

Reaching self-actualization and accomplishing something with life is a physcological need that ranks just behind behind belonging, saftey, and physical needs.

Why, because suddenly the Xbox would get one of the PS3's best features? Jeez STEFANOVIC, I thought you were a Sony fan, but if you really think the only thing separating the PS3 from failing is it's blu-ray drive, I don't know what to think anymore...

Come on I never said it that extreme.... ish. It will just be a unwanted dent in the PS3 market.

Good thing sony has the patent on Blu Ray ( Unless they sold it?) and would never give up a key feature to an Arch Nemesis Villain.

Thats like superman handing out Kryptonite (some how, without dying of death.)

Also. I'm scared of motion control's being a key feature in the majority of any future games for any console (Not Including the Wii obviously.)

I used to have a real phobia of heights, but it's gotten better with time. I'm thinking of trying skydiving actually to choke the last breath out of that fear once and for all :P
