what are you afraid of

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:37 pm

Also. I'm scared of motion control's being a key feature in the majority of any future games for any console (Not Including the Wii obviously.)

This.

I don't want this natal/magic wand crap.

Mediocrity doesn't mean you can't have a happy or "amazing" life, does it?

Yes it does. Mediocrity is boring. The opposite of anything 'amazing'.

But now I am afraid just about everything :(

Great, thanks guys. <_<

Dementia.

Don't worry, it's not so bad. :P

I am afraid of shrews and I do mean deathly afraid of them. I do wish my dementia would make me forget that fact.

Underground/confined spaces - I can deal okay with subways and such (good thing, since I am in NYC), but trips to underground excavations, caves, catacombs and the like will induce heart-racing panic - I get that "Flee" instinct kicking in. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older - to the point where even being in a narrow old passage-way in, say, an old Cathedral or castle ruin when traveling, becomes an exercise in willing myself not to freak out.

I can deal okay with subways systems, as I said, as they are generally wide open and you are moving along, and elevators - unless, in both scenarios, it is excessively crowded - if I feel completely hemmed in/surrounded, I have a lot of trouble - cold sweat, heart-racing, hands get icy cold... ugh. It's a horrible feeling.

I have met a few shrews in my life who I would have quite happily exterminated, certainly not the 'tameable' types

OK, deal summer.

Bees. Dear god, BEES. You can't get me to go near ANYTHING if there's a bee around it.

When I was 3, my dad decided it was a good idea to tell me how he stepped on a wasp hive as a kid; and how he nearly died as a result of the sheer amount of stings. Needless to say, I've been scared [censored]less of those little buzzing bastards ever since.

I've hung out with a beekeeper a bit at a camp

he let me come along twice, got to take one hive(?) apart had all the bees still crawling around on it

after everything was said and done only 2 or 3 bees were pissed at us (smoke helps) :P

I'm still uncomfortable around em though

but biggets fear I suppose is becoming brain damaged or paralysed or losing vision/hearing

Failure, to let down the ones I love, to see them suffer. Rats. Roaches. Trusting someone as completely as they do me.

Definitely heights. I get that "butterflies" in the stomach feeling even playing video games if my character is on a ledge or railing very high above the ground. At the insistence of friends I rode the http://lh5.ggpht.com/freehotelreview/SQdzYOfl61I/AAAAAAAAADE/nYamy_gzjeg/s800/Stratosphere_outside.jpg thrill ride on the top of the 350M (1150 ft) Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. Absolutely terrifying - thought I was going pass out. I got chills just looking at the search results trying to find a pic to post. :shocking:

Bees. Just about two years back, a honey bee chased me to the edge of a ten foot cliff leading down to shallow lake water. I jumped.

Something I can't stand is not being able to move at all.
When I was a kid, I rolled myself inside my bed's blanket and kept on rolling until I was "mummified" inside, just for the thrills.

Well, 5 seconds later, I started moving my legs and arms as much as I could, but it didn't work. I panicked, screamed and finally managed to roll back and get out of the blankets.

I saw a video of a prank where a student's friend wrapped him up completely while he was sleeping. When the student wakes up, he can't move at all unless someone cuts down the wraps with a sharp object. I couldn't stand watching the video, it was too terrifying for me. Not being able to move at all...:P

I have this fear as well. I've tried to conquer it, obviously to no avail.

I get that too, when playing some video games. Especially games like Mirror's Edge.
