Blood's got nothing to do with it. The level of chromosomal damge and changes to the genetic structure does however.

It's just a figure of speech. Kinda like the term "new blood" or "young blood."

Yes I understand. But "Pure blood" to me implies that the Enclave looks for some quasi-mystical propertires in the blood ala' Harry Potter. Or that they think that some blood is "tainted" because someone is a particular race or something. Which isn't the case.

Its just a question of terminology is all.

Oh but the term does fit well because the Enclave is kind of like a family. The western BoS are pure human but the Enclave wants to whipe them out as well, in part, because they're not Enclave.

The western BOS have been outside in the "wasteland" for too long to be prime-normals anymore. They may be less mutated than other wastelanders, but their DNA is sufficiently altered for the Enclave to not considered them to be humans.

I highly doubt that 100% of Enclave personel have not been exposed to radiation. What does the Enclave do to troopers who have been serving in the field long enough to be just like any wastelander?

What would the Enclave do to the Remnants in New Vegas?

The Enclave have the best technology in the Fallout universe, but their agenda is sick and seriously flawed. They operate in the wastes, there gonna get a dose of radiation just like any other wastelander.

Its not as if once you go outside you are forever mutated and no longer human. There is a significant difference between going out on a mission and living (as a society) 100 + years in the wasteland. Many of the wastelanders are also mutated from genetic abnomalities passed down from generation to generation.

Then why was the Enclave killing vault dwellers...i.e. opening scene of Fallout 2, the Enclave killed a bunch of vault dwellers who have not been exposed to radiation.

Yeah, I bet the Enclave never considered that eventuality

I agree that this was a mistake. And if I remember correctly, President Richardson recognized this. The reasoning given by the troopers however, was that the Vault dwellers had been hostile and resisted them (it didn't happen that way I know).

But they keep making this MISTAKE. If you sabotaged vault 101, everyone leaves...Amata talks to an Enclave patrol, she gives them the position of Vault 101 and then they gun her down.

Really? Gun her down? She's been out of the vault for like 5 minutes.

They were angry with Vault 101 for rejecting their offer of unification.

Are you going to tell me the Brotherhood has never done something like this? If so then explain why ghouls are killed indescriminately in Fallout 3.

They probably just think they are feral and shoot on sight.

The Brotherhood has bigger problems though. They need to seriously consider taking on recruits. The Capital Wasteland Brotherhood is a huge success story of what it can accomplish.

If they just took in recruits, they would scavenge more tech and have more soldiers and research. They wouldn't need to fear the NCR or the Legion, in fact those forces would be a joke in comparison.

Or you mean the ones that are clearly wearing armor/clothing, can talk in perfectly coherent sentences enough to shout out "No please don't!", and who act/are in no way like feral ghouls aside from how they look? (Hell you should be able to tell which ghouls are feral and which aren't just by looking at them)

Face it. The Brotherhood certainly isn't perfect either, and while they don't have a plan for world cleansing, in many ways they are not much "better" than the Enclave.

Like I said, the Brotherhood has lots of flaws, but their training, equipment, and dedication is unmatched (with exception of the Enclave of course). But at least the Brotherhood doesn't shoot down innocent people.

People have made a lore that the Brotherhood goes around shooting people who carry a laser rifle, which is total b.s. - they will confiscate that off you on a patrol but there not gonna gun you down for it unless you fight them.

So they are a gang of muggers? How is that any better, your the one proclaiming their innocence; we don't have that problem.

So ghouls aren't people now huh?

Nope. The Brotherhood is not bigoted at all.

And by what right do they claim these weapons? Simply because they can "handle" them better? Because they "say so"?

Yep, fighting (and losing) a war against the NCR is a great way to make use of those confiscated weapons.

Let's not forget that the BoS is a remnant of the U.S. military, similarly the Enclave is the Remnant's of the United States Government.

So technically that Laser rifle is BoS property, that's U.S. military equipment. We are trying to protect people from technology.

No. The Brotherhood deserted from the US Army; how does that even work? The Enclave has genuine ties to the government whereas the Brotherhood was formed from soldiers who deserted - for fair reasons I'm not saying Maxson was bad because of that - but they don't have any claim to this stuff.

The "Brotherhood" declared their succession from the United States only days before the Great War began, so "technically" they have no right to U.S. property.

Granted that there have been cases of criminal conduct by a few bad apples (some members of the Outcasts chopped off a Gary's hand to get his Pip Boy but a lot of them disagreed with that move and even considered leaving the group) it is not protocol to kill innocents.

Good point, but who is or who is not to say they are still remnant's of that organization.

If I had it my way, the Brotherhood would be taking in recruits, collecting tech to protect themselves and local citizens, but still stay away from the flawed logic of conquest which dominates the NCR/Legion.

With sufficient numbers, the Brotherhood wouldn't need to control anything, they could stand up to anyone. They have the tech, the training, and the know how, they just need bodies to fill up those empty power armor suits.

No, the U.S. military. They are still remnant's of that military, albeit they handled themselves kind of like seperate corp. that has its own doctrine.

They came to the conclusion that it is human nature to destroy themselves so they seek to prevent a second apocalypse by safeguarding dangerous knowledge from those that have not been indoctrinated. It's a noble goal that makes sense in a post apocalyptic setting especially.
