What We Know So Far (Again)

What, specifically, are you looking to get from seeing the game play? I would expect it to be very similar to FO3, wouldn't you?

It uses the same engine so there's not really that much difference you can get. If you've seen the gameplay of FO3 then you've pretty much seen the basic gameplay of NV.

Same engine, same type of gameplay just tweaked up, 3rd/1st person view..... its all the same i don't even know why people still complain about this its the same as fallout 3 just tweaked and stuff....

If any of you saw the new PS3 magazine, you might have caught a glimpse of the character in a Vault 21 suit smashing some snappy dressed dude with a golf club. In the victims hand. however, showed a handgun. And my friends, I'm pleased to say... the metal cigarette bow with a pistol grip is old news!! (I completely took that last description of the Fallout 3 handgun from someone else I saw make a comment on the weapons thread) The gun looks a lot like a Sig Sauer P226/P228. Not beautiful, but definatly an improvement. I know I'd also like to see the laser pistol, a magnum like Paulsons revolver, and maybe some special military issued ones not easily found. What sort of hand cannons are you looking to make a return? Or a debut?

I like their practicality and the fact that they dont look like small boxes with grips. But personally, I favor revolvers. The only modern looking pistol i really like is the Five-SeveN

I find it hard to bring myself to shoot a gun with a plastic trigger, but a plastic slide? Not happening. I will admit the design (and round) are cool, though.

The design is alright, nothing groundbreaking, but i think the 5.7x28mm hollow point round is fabulous. Like in the Five-seveN and the P90

Now THERES a SMG model that needs to be put in I think. And actually, now that I think about it, I do also like the P99 (for the 007 really devoted fan in me)

How about something like this:

Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian in 2010
The Elder Scrolls V by Bethesda in 2011

?

if this is how it happens, i will not be doing anything but leveling up for the next few years...

Your starting equipment depends on your skills. I got the PS3 Mag. Sounds nice :)

You also need to carry Doctors Bags to deal with crippled limbs in hardcoe mode! Triage system anyone?

The mag also mentions a modified 9mm.

Also, the Big gun with the TV screen is an upgraded Minigun.

I hope the hardcoe mode is modular, I would love to be able to pick what is "realistic" and what runs by Fallout 3 standards (in my case for example would pick the ammo weight and the previous mention need to use a doctor bag to heal crippled limbs but would skip the need for drinking water thank you)

As I have no experience with either of these games, could someone who does please explain the anology to me? Thanks!

GTA # when it came out blew everyone away with it's size. Then GTA3:Vice City came out and it was soo much bigger, better, more immersive.
Then GTA3:San Andreas came out and it was three cities, not one. An entire state, not just some region, and basically massive. So big that the cities had working airports with charter flights that the character could use to get around with. It's a B.A.G.

Big Ass Game.

As I already wrote elsewhere, the Vice City/San Andreas anology could mean that Obsidian might make another Fallout (comparable to "San Andreas", if FNV is comparable to "Vice City") before there is Fallout 4, with an upgraded engine. :)

How about something like this:

Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian in 2010
The Elder Scrolls V by Bethesda in 2011
Fallout: "San Andreas" by Obsidian in 2012
Fallout 4 by Bethesda in 2013

?

Bethesda could be exploring the East Coast further, while Obsidian would focus on the West Coast.

I don't think Bethesda will throw together FO4 in two years ;)
TESV next year though, I can see that happening.

Back on topic, the more I know about the game, the more I wanna finish that time machine I'm working on :P

to use a synopsis from two articles on FO:NV I just read, with a couple of high points by my likes.

Weapon Customisation is definately in.
Our actions will have an effect on ingame area's and the reactions of the residents therein.
Purportidly the dark humour is back to at least some extent.

Nothing in the articles mentioned about the low intelligence dialogue, although to be fair to the devs to do it, they'd have to do a lot more voiced bits to get a systematic reaction to someone with limited speaking capabilities.
Having said that the articles did mention that your skills definately open choices in dialogues and gave a couple of examples with sneak and explosives, in that if you have those skills high enough with the at least demo content it was used in. You could get sticks of dynamite to throw at the enemy (with the explosives skill), or see about getting an ambush set up (with the sneak skill).

First of all, they say that for every game they have made. Second, they have also said that they ofcourse would make TES V. Oblivion is still a huge hit four years after.

The handgun in hands of the snappy dressed man taking a beatin' looks like a browning HP to me. :gun:

Maybe 9mm ammo is in the game.
