What mods do you predict will made in the first months?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:44 pm

my guess is:

-nvde mods

-all sort of mods based on weapon modifications

-pre order items turned into mods

- new ammo mods

Dropped flamer fuel tanks and mini nukes etc. are explodable by shooting them.

I've actually seen it done already. For Fallout 3
My guesses: HORDES and HORDES of some strange Type 3 D-cup or something crappy mods which names I don't understand, though I like the ones that upgrade the looks but not make them nvde ;)
FOOK:NV (Though this is more of a wish than a guess)
Fallout Courier's Edition :P
Hm, Nuka-Cola expansion mods, they be mah favorite
Red Dead Redemption related stuff, like John Marston faces or NPC's, clothing etc (Now I would really like it :D)
And as already was said: Perk-per-level, super-duper pimped out revolvers that fire napalm bombs the size of a nuke, 2000 lvl mods, and a whole crapload of useless stuff

I'm actually curious of some existing mods will work right off the bat. For example, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7670 I assume the only way this might work is if they use most of the same files as they did in FO3.

I guess that the models/texture/anim type mods will work straight up, as long as they are renamed for the new file structures/characters. So expect those almost from day 1. The other mods rely on Fose, so you're going to have to wait for a NV Fose before the mod writers even think about porting old mods.

It's so interesting, seeing the various dislikes people have towards the different genres of mods.

I can't help but groan because I know this is going to be, unfortunately, true. I've looked at the Nexus, so much Japanese/anime/nvde crap. Geez, what losers >_>

Too true. Apart from that, though, the first mods I usually see are recolored armor mods. Maybe some dancing mods too. ^.^

A mod that allows you to bring your god-like F3 character into NVegas.

*snip*
- 5 different nvde female body replacers.

Those after the requisite "major" bug fixes I bet. Since I'm under the impression that New Vegas is using the same engine. It'll just be a matter of time until someone ports one or more of the existing mods from FO3 to New Vegas.

Then insert flood of house mods, ridiculously overpowered weapons/armor, armor/weapon re-textures and hopefully a MMM somewhere in there :P

Fallout 3 mod body meshes should work from the get-go in New Vegas, it's just a matter of converting the vanilla outfits that are new with New Vegas; there are at least a few from FO3 that will be in New Vegas.

Lets see...

- Game difficulty changes (like FWE, FOOK)
- New guns/gun mods.
- Many beauty related things. (new hair, body, etc)
- Unofficial patches
- A few very small quest mods
- And of course hundreds (if not a few thousand) really small, rather pointless (to most) mods that add random things

+1

I think you have it pretty close buddy. :)

I would say initially too we will see ALOT of gun/ammo/crafting mods, as the new interfaces and ability to change these will spawn 1000 variants. I GECKulate that weapon/ammo/crafting mods will very popular and numerous. I think some cool cooking mods will come around, and probably an extension of that into something close to full Oblivion-style alchemy.

In the first 6 months they will all be small, tweak-like mods. The big overhauls won't start to appear on the scene for many months as they are very game-specific (one could not port FWE, MMM or FOOK to FNV without alot of work and without stripping-out alot of Fo3-specific content). I rather think these will get built-up again for FNV just as they were for Fo3.

There are some mods that are getting converted from Fo3, so I think we will have alot more mature modding content for FNV alot faster than we saw with Fo3 where everything was created from scratch.

Can't wait! Now that I know gamestop is doing midnight pre-order releases, I plan to do my first-ever late-night-game-run. :fallout:

Beauty improvements, textures, and UI mods. More I don't think to be necessary at first. Everything else will either take a while or might be unnecessary to convert from F3 since New Vegas already has it. Most of the big FWE features for example.

I say: play the game first, worry about the mods later! Given that things like weapon mods, a FWE type start etc are included anyway, NV won't need as much "fixing" as FO3 did. Probably.

Ain't gonna happen. Steam is so deep in the game that removing it would not be considered "modding".

Personally i hope Darn brings his UI goodnes to this game too, it'll be painful to play the game with the default UI if it is like the default Fallout 3 one. And i hope the people who made the unofficial patches for Oblivion and Fallout 3 return too. Sandboxes have a lot of bugs, and developers patching budgets are quite limited.

Nope, not in my eyes, nvde body replacers are nothing but childish and serve no purpose. As to Japanese and or anime style bodies, they disgust me, I just have no real love for JRPG game characters, hence I play a Western RPG.

Ah, the heck with
"JRPG svcks!"
"WRPG svcks!"

I LOVE BOTH OF THEM!!
BUT I :fallout: MORE!!!

Hopefully something like CASM will come around pretty quickly.

Personally, I know there are a few specific weapons I'll take over (Not mine, but other people's mods I'll use for myself/non distributable), and I'll probably make some small player home changes for myself...

And I think that's what a lot of people will do. They'll port over the easy stuff like armor and weapons, and when we get a script extender...

All bets are off.

I disagree, much of that stuff is incredibly well made, and that's what really counts, isn't it? The ability for one to turn a game into some sort of insane giant mecha playground populated entirely by japanese schoolgirls I see as a good thing! (Not that I'd use such a thing myself, but I just love the fact it can be done)

This. The fact that people love to mod makes me cry in tears of happiness :(

Also, Martyr, those bodies have a purpose, not just to be nvde, but rather, they are used as a base for most of the custom clothes, armors, etc etc, only because they're much more well made. They modders give choices on what form/texture of the body they would prefer before installing, so it's really up to the user's choice.

Also, I predict bug fixes and tweaks. Then the body replacers.

There is a lot of talk of using FO3 assets directly in FNV. What you do on your own computers is up to you but we do not allow the discussion and sharing of such mods on these forums.

As to removing the Steam requirement - again it is best to stay very silent and well away from the topic. OK?

I think the first mod will likely affect the DT of power armors.
