What mods do you predict will made in the first months?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:24 pm

I'm sure that people will go modding crazy rather quickly after the game is released. What kind of mod releases do you think we'll be seeing in the first few months?

I think:

- Something to remove the gambling limit in casinos.
- A mod to improve the interface
- Something like FO3's GNR More Where That Came From mod (A large radio expansion).
- A MMM release, possibly.
- Some house mods
- Some weapon adding mods
- 5 different nvde female body replacers.

Bug fixes
Performance improvements
Balancing and difficulty tweaks

In that order.

Ports of all existing nvde replacers, as well as much of the clothing, too!

More seriously, we'll see about 4 or 5 different overhauls, all doing things slightly differently, before things calm down into two or 3 well maintained, modular ones, I bet.

I can't help but groan because I know this is going to be, unfortunately, true. I've looked at the Nexus, so much Japanese/anime/nvde crap. Geez, what losers >_>

I disagree, much of that stuff is incredibly well made, and that's what really counts, isn't it? The ability for one to turn a game into some sort of insane giant mecha playground populated entirely by japanese schoolgirls I see as a good thing! (Not that I'd use such a thing myself, but I just love the fact it can be done)

Performance improvements

Only to reduce performance again with texture replacers, because naturally the vanilla textures aren't good enough. :D

I daresay body replacers - nvde or otherwise - will be among the first. Much of the work is already done for the base replacers, after all, though a lot of outfits will need to be converted that aren't in Fallout 3.

Nope, not in my eyes, nvde body replacers are nothing but childish and serve no purpose. As to Japanese and or anime style bodies, they disgust me, I just have no real love for JRPG game characters, hence I play a Western RPG.

What I expect first....

- DaRN UI port, or something similar
- more hairstyles & eyes
- Type 3 body & a matching alterations of the NV clothing
- more guns

A bit closed minded there. A good bit of the clothing that came out for FO3 fit in the setting. And not alot of it was "Japanese/anime".

Meh, whatever. /shrug

Wait, we have mods that do that? That actually sounds pretty awesome to me. I wonder what anime ghouls look like.

I would imagine someone will get to work on a rudimentary Marcus as a companion mod early on.

Maybe some of those exclusive pre-order items will be turned into mods? I assume all these unique pieces are inside the same BSA as all the other files... Or not? :P

I can certainly appreciate them for the increased realism. I'm a big boy, seeing a briast isn't going to scar me for life - and moments like taking off somebody's clothing and seeing underwear where there used to be skin defenestrates immersion quite quickly. Just because nudity often isn't used tastefully doesn't mean it isn't.

No no no, you misconstrue me. I mean that alot of the body mods fit that category, I've seen quite a few mods that I envy PC Users for having the ability to use. xD

Well... seeing nvde bodies lying around after looting a raider camp does not really add to immersion IMO. Where in fallout would anyone need to get naked anyways?

I think he's talking more about when you take the mesh-strainer-and-electrical-tape-bra armor off a female raider..... and all of a sudden she's in a full tanktop. :)

(I suppose you could be playing a very modest character, who carries around a bunch of extra underwear so he can preserve the modesty of anyone whose clothes he has to steal. Hmm, there's an RP idea.....)

The strippers would? :P

One weird thing about female raiders is that when you remove their armor, often the underwear just magically appears where it wasn't before. A body replacer would solve that.

Still, lets not turn this into a body replacer discussion.
