I'd also like to see a proper Sawn-off Bouble-Barrel Shotgun. Not that Pistol thing in FO3.

Playing card gun.

It fires playing cards and chips.

BTW im completely serious we had the Rock-It Launcher in fallout 3, it shot Teddy bears.

so why not a gun that shots chips and playing cards?

It would be called the "Gambler"(Pun intended)

Well that one was still okay. Especially because it was meant to look like the one Mel Gibson uses in The Road Warrior. But yeas, I agree on the point that the guns need to make sense. I don't want our main shotgun to be an old Russian sub machine-gun again... <_<

That was the problem though. Max's weapon was just any old Double-Barrel Shotgun, cut down. But Beth somehow managed to turn it into something really odd, basically because to fit with their pistol animations they put a stupid pistol grip on it. Also they made it tiny, as small and short as a handgun. I could cut my dad's shotgun up and still wouldn't fit it in my pocket. Not by a long shot. I hope In NV there is one without that damn handle, and not as small as that one was.

They could put any gun they want in the game, but I just hope there's a proper sawn-off Shotgun.

I get what you mean. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We don't know where they are in the development phase, so we can't know whether or not the animations and models are final yet.

defiantly need some more strong rifles, i loved the lincolns repeater in fallout 3, also better sniper rifles built more like the rifles in war games, hold to aim etc. oh and a revolver like the magnum but not scoped yeah...

as mention in other threads a real hand cannon of a gun like the .223 pistol from 1 & 2

a auto shotgun that looks and sounds like the monster it should be F3 one was a joke in the looks and sound field in my book

a pump action shotgun as well for when full auto is peeing away ammo but double barrel is to slow

a proper Ripper, again F3 failed in the sounds looks department and made it seam like a bloody kitchen tool.

meat cleaver as a usable weapon

the punch gun from Fallout Tactics would be a fun welcome too :3

I really enjoyed fallout 3 but the thing that got on my nerves the worse was the weapons( this does not include the energy weapons) First of all they weren't really realistic( pistol is suppose to look like a cigarette box). the pistol was absolutely terrible and there wasn't much to choose from. Second was weapons that you could make by using blue prints, that was just the biggest let down for me. I was expecting to be able to put a scope on my hunting rifle or something in common with that. And finally the third thing is the aiming part. if this was going to be a first person shooter RPG then the player should be able to look straight down the sight of the gun instead of a zoom in. All i want to expect to come out of Fallout New Vegas is the ability to add on to your gun and to customize it, more guns that look more realistic, and the ability to look straight down the sights instead of just a zoom in.

first of big, bold letters make you look like one of those screaming 13 year olds on xbox live with a dirty mouth that could shame a sailor.

Second this isn?t modern warfare goes nuclear, it?s suppose to be a mix between real and 1950s over the top sci-fi

sounds more like S.T.A.L.K.E.R is more up your alley of gameplay.

I want to see weapons that are variations on existing ones, such as an aluminum bat as well as a wooden bat, or a semi-auto and auto-assault rifle. I know it sounds stupid, but there isn't much else that I want that Beth have already incorporated in Fallout 3 and its DLC.

so you enjoyed everything about the weapons? i liked the weapons but i think they could be improved. even the add-on "The Pitt" made the game better just becase you got a silent scope assault rifle.

What gives you the right to go tell him to play a whole different kind of game though? If I want an M4 without mods I get told to go to hell because the game just HAS to have old wooden weapons or laser guns in it? Just forget that there were P90s and Desert Eagles in FO2 because those were made after the 50's.

Why can't we have something for everybody? Why can't we find a modern gun in an undisturbed military base? Why do we have to just discard everything that happened after 1950 just because the timeline split? I mean for christ sakes we have Gatling Lasers and Plasma mines, you don't think that the Army might've had the need for an anti materiel rifle like the Barrett in the Fallout universe? Or should everything just go out the window?

I'm sorry I'm ranting, but some of you guys want everything your way and want things that only cater to YOUR playstyle instead of having something for everybody. That's one of the key elements of Fallout 3, making your own Lone Wanderer and playing how you want to play.

EDIT: sorry to the guy I quoted, I wasn't talking to you in particular, just needed to get that off my chest.

I posted earlier in a topic similar to this, but I'll post my thoughts here too:
M1928 Thompson Sub Machine Gun, Mafia/Police version, AKA Tommy Gun (got to have this one since Vegas in the 50's was ran by the Mafia)
Colt 1911 .45 ACP Pistol (ditto)
German MP40 SMG
German STG44 SMG
Winchester Model 1897 Lever Action Shotgun (used in T2 and Ghostrider)
Colt .45 Long Barrel Single Action Revolver (this is the wild west right?!)
A Hand held Gatling Gun, Crank Style as was used in the 1800's, clip fed

Now for some WAY out there ideas:
Rail Gun, not to be confused with the Railway Rifle
The Javelin
Laser Sword. May the schwartz be with you :P

and a blow gun

This. An actual tranquilizer. Not the dart gun, I want something that actually knocks them out unconscious. Then you can loot them, and run away.

There is something hilarious about taking everything a person has on them, and just leave. Don't know why. That, and it would be easier to play a pacifist.

I think a crashed ufo with an alien blaster would be nice. An easter egg of an easter egg.

Of another easter egg?

Honestly, after Fallout 3 and Mothership Zeta, I would like to not have any more aliens.

However, i'm all game for Monty Python jokes, Blue telophone booths (Dr. Who), and anything else, as long as they don't release a Monty Python DLC.

-------

Okay, so maybe that would be totally awesome, but don't tell Obsidian about it. :P

Holy Hand Grenade Launcher, anyone?

Yeah the multiple types of shotguns like some guy said above.

Also:

More pistols, particularly revolvers, I'd love to have a quick shooting wild west revolver, that does more then 2 damage, they don't have to vary that much from models in use, maybe a longer barrel/different color, I'm not picky.

I'd like to see different versions of guns from the real world, Resistance the game had it, when they made an assault rifle that had a feel of it being around WW2. It could still be an M4, or some other rifle, but with elements such as wood, metal instead of black alloys, maybe an older style clip, etc. It should still handle well, after all this is the future, just a different future, and with such a war going on i am sure, they would have made developments in weaponry. I didn't like the assault rifle in fallout 3 because it was a piece of crap, and I am sure the military wouldn't use it in the year 2070 or whatever it was, they would likely have advanced rounds, possibly caseless, a larger clip, etc.
For example, they could take something like http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/50/news_extra/28969.bestbuy.jpg, change the butt to something like a thompson, wood pistol grip, no led screen, some sort of sight (but more oldschool), and maybe simpler looking metalwork.

A variety of rifles, because I am sure that other than pistols, most guns floating around would be hunting rifles.

More big guns, apparently there are gun dumps all around the US, with weapons from as far back as WW2, slated for destruction, so a browning or MG42 wouldn't be that far fetched (not many obviously). Maybe there could be a variant of the Bren gun, but more advanced, larger clip, that could have been used as the main squad support weapon at the time.

And finally weapons should have damage values respective to the ammunition they are shooting. Why I couldn't kill a fly with a .32 pistol, but could finish FO3 with a .32 hunting rifle beats me. There should be differences based on the weapon (home-made, pistol, rifle, etc) but they shouldn't be huge.

Thats my two cents, can't wait for the game.
