I know it doesn't really follow the tradition of fallout, but I would like it to be a little more realistic in terms of post-apocalyptic survival. In my game, firearms and bullets would be extremely rare and most weapons would be homemade things like the nailboard or bat. Bows might be around, but very rarely would you ever find a functioning rifle. How long after the war has it been and how long has there been the BoS/Enclave battle? There wouldn't be much left in terms of classic weapons. Sure, energy weapons are about, but they should still be rare. For those you who haven't read "The Road," the novel is somewhat Falloutesque and there are only two bullets in the entire novel, one of which never gets fired. I don't want NV to be completely devoid of guns, but you should feel a sense of accomplishment when you find ammo. That and the prospect of using or making homemade weapons sounds pretty neat. In F02, you started out with a spear and a knife. There should be reason to build up your melee skill.
