What do you do on your lunch hour?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:46 am

Play football (soccer) and/or chill with buddies. Eat. Buy a bottle of water. Occasionally tend to my prefect duties.

If it's unpaid, then fine... but if its a paid lunch break, then WTH man?!

I'm in school and have only 30 minutes for lunch. I don't have time for anything other than buying food and eating it.

Bring sandwich to school.
Eat sandwich in 5 minutes.
Yay 25 minutes of reading!

I myself eat something (I either eat a sandwich and drink some cold soda (yeah sure a few minutes lost on going to as store) or I go and buy myself a hamburger with fries and soda if I'm in the mood for it), read some good book, sometimes play "Magic: The Gathering" with a friend, chat with a friend, browse the Bethesda forums and other random websites and sometimes if I'm really tired I take a short nap.

:D Love breaks.

Depends where you are as well as who you work for. I used to get paid half hour breaks, but you could opt to exchange that for food from the hotel buffet instead. Which I did. And then I got fat.

I get 15 minutes paid lunch. So I would have to bring my lunch with me to work, it is just too much work for a lazy man like myself. ;)

Yep. I was the morning shift, so I got scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, and when I was really lucky, breakfast steak.

Made it really hard when I got my next job that didn't even have a cafeteria, going out and buying my own food seemed to drain sooo much money.

I get 5 minutes of paid break-time for every one hour I'm supposed to work. So on a 6 hours workday I have a 30 minutes long paid break :D I was perhaps misunderstanding the thread the first time around, are we also discussing breaks between classes in schools ? Or just work, or both ? Well anyway when I′m at work what I do in my lunch break is grab a hotdog to eat and a milkshake or a soda to go with it, and with whatever time I got left after eating (20 minutes left if I grab a soda and 15 minutes left if I get a milkshake instead) I browse the newspapers at work or surf the web on my phone (usually check out updates to post on the forums).

:o amazing. that has got to be one of the best perks you can get at a job. know what you mean by buying lunch draining money, I think I ended up spending 150-200 dollars on lunch in the last month, thats why I don't eat any thing at my lunches any more.

thinking about making some sack lunches though.

Well I got a hour, so usually run to the McDonald's right down the road, in and out of there, sit in my car and eat my food. Most of the time I'll just lean the seat back in my car and listen to some music on my phone with whatever time I have left.

I, you know, eat lunch. I sometimes sneak out with my older friends since I don't have my off campus pass yet. The trunk is not comfortable, at all.

Haha, I eat.

There really isn't much else to do. I guess I read the newspaper or talk to the other people there.

Well, since I'm a college student I usually work later in the day after my classes are done, so I don't really schedule my lunches. I just eat whenever I'm hungry and don't have a class.

But aside from eating, I'll talk to friends, read the paper or a book, maybe play a game on my laptop if I've brought it along (I don't usually), or sometimes me and a friend or two will go downstairs where my university has a game room with Billiards, TV, and Bowling.

On long shifts I get two 15 minute paid breaks and an optional 30 minute unpaid lunch. I usually just use one of my paid breaks as lunch and don't use my unpaid one. I like my money :P

I go home and make some lunch. It only take me 6-7 minutes to walk between my home and my work.

I get a 75min lunch break, which usually doesn't involve a lot of eating as I'm never hungry that early (starts at 10.45). So it's usually either math or shopping or sitting around talking with friends.

At my school our lunchtime lasts just under an hour, and because I'm a nerd I've been filling that time with working on a Biology assessment for the past week or two. Usually, I'll eat if I remembered to bring lunch or money, talk/laugh with my friends and/or sunbathe if it's a nice day.
