What's your scariest Skyrim experience?

Mine was going in a dark tunnel with my headset on very high volume, and then a skeever popping out and screaming T_T

Lightning traps in Saarthal.

I was playing at night, no TV on (usually have that on), headset. Wasn't really expecting anything there.
Nearly had a heart attack.

A glitch that caused a dragon to fall out of the sky right in front of me.

Oh yeah I had that twice. But it was daytime ingame so not such a big deal.

A mudcrab was hidden in the dirt. Then he jumped up in front of me. It didn't help that it was the first mudcrab I encountered in the game so I had no idea what it was until he jumped out. Now that was scary [censored].

In the middle of a blizzard up in the high mountains around Winterhold, slowly trudging through the heavy snowstorm, and as the snowstorm ceased.. I came across the biggest scare in a game I've EVER had.


.... A goat running up against my leftside. I jumped about 2 foot in the air and hovered for a few seconds.

Those goats are stupid scary! I had a similar experience where in the middle of a snow storm he bolted from directly behind me. I literally said "What the [censored]..." out loud.

Exploring cave in sneak mode and suddenly I saw a huge shadow of spider. I was like ''HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THIS?!'', then i realised it was my own shadow. Damn torch

I came out of a cave with none of my gear (part of a quest, partly my own fault for wanting a challenge). I was then immediately set upon by TWO dragons. The random event generator really had it in for me :P

I stumbled upon this seemingly abandoned lighthouse in the middle of the night. Wandering in, I noticed that a series of brutal murders had taken place, and I got a quest to find out what happened to the people here. Walking around and reading a few journals laying about i learned they were attacked by some kind of creatures...and then I started hearing the noises. Little "tick-tick-tick" noises like fingernails on wood floor, and I could never find out where they were coming from. I could swear I saw shadows moving out of the corner of my eye... Eventually I did the quest and the feeling of fright didn't stay for long, it was a pretty good way of creeping me the hell out

Another is when I was quietly going about my business, leaving the College of Winterhold, walking into the courtyard, and strangely watching the Arch-mage dual wielding his mage, waltzing around the courtyard like a buffoon.


I was baffled, thinking he was just having some sort of weird glitch..

Who knew 2 minutes later a Blood Dragon would land RIGHT in the middle of the courtyard infront of me.

I went into Black Reach and was so dumb-struck by all the glowy lights that I didn't see the Dwemer centurian... it jumped out at me and I just about wet my pants.

one dwemer ruin which locks you in a cage, then starts scanning you with a glowing orb... I wont spoil what happens after that.

For me it was a silly one, i was walking through woods at night, nobody was around, i look behind me, turned back to carry on and suddenly there was a scream and someone's hand went right in my face whilst it casted freeze spell, it was a novice mage that scared the pants off me, i killed him in two hits but my poor old heart was rebounding around inside my rib-cage, thats what i get for using huge set of earphones and playing late at night :)

I was clearing out a necromancer cave, and had just cleared a room and was looting some stuff. Suddenly I heard a noise like a groan and turned around, freaked out, and started slashing the air.
It was only the necromancer I had rezzed with Reanimate Dead, but it made me [censored] myself anyway.
