When have YOU used storm call?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 3:52 pm

I tried it inside a cave and it did not work.

Then I used it during the defence of Whiterun, I thought it was clever at first, but then saw how it zapped everyone including the town folk. It was terrible.

It zaps everything. I still have not found a good use for it. It will be good for those who want to feel powerful, but do not care who they will kill or who they feel deserves to live.

The only use I can think of for me is to go to the HQ of the Vigilant of Stendarr and call upon it and to watch them all die by lighting.

Unless you're out in the open and away from civilization, that's probably a good strategy. In its most powerful form, it'll definitely kill lesser civilians for sure.

Even when you are out in the open, there still are some non-hostile humaniod npcs around. Like Vigilents of Stendarr or Talsgar the Wanderer or Stormcloak/Imperial soldiers etc. Granted, it's not as bad as say, unleashing that shout in the middle of Riverwood, but still, it's not something I want to risk. Maybe I should mod it to my liking. Now I just have to figure out how to mod.

It's so dangerous and funny. At the same time. The first time I shouted storm call fighting a dragon with Jordis alongside, the dragon was almost dead, so I had poor Jordis insulting and threatening to kill me if I don't stop hurting her for almost the whole duration of the Shout. lol

It is a very dangerous Thu'um to be sure. I rarely use it because of the danger it poses to everything in the vicinity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKxFE-4oHEI Although I didn't even find that video funny. Okay. A bit. But I feel kinda guilty for it.

I've only used it twice. Once, just to see what it did, and the second time while fighting a group of bandits, a mammoth, and it's giant owner. Two of the bandits died from the shocks, as did the weakened giant. I'd use it more often, but the time it takes to recharge is just too large.

This ...

... is why I use it sparingly ... very handy when fighting both a dragon and dragon priest on a certain mountaintop, though.

Did it during a massive Bandits vs Stormcloaks fight with the Civil Unrest mod (Amazing) Simply because I was an Imperial, and they were all my enemy, The Bandits all started chasing after me (Most of them being Magic casting Bandit Marauders) So I was running casting my healing spell to keep my stamina up while they were killed off, turning around every now and then to take one or two of them out myself. I must say it was a lot of fun :D

It is incredibly strong and fun to unleash the wrath of nature on your enemies, but I rarely use it. I use it for RP purposes sometimes to make a cool battle look ferocious

When have I used it? Uhhh...

Was bored one night so I went into Solitude and spwned a dragon with the console then used storm call...http://i.imgur.com/QLb7F.jpg. Much chaos ensured. Was pretty hilarious though! xD
Other than this one time...I -never- use it. D:

I only found out how useful it was when I was sneaking up on a fort that I knew from previous times, was heavily guarded. I accidentally activated it as a shout (when I meant to do the silent shout for distracting foes) and by the time it had ended, I didn't need to sneak anymore. Every. Bandit. Was. Dead.

It's a favourite shout because it is too mental to use normally (what with it killing everything, friend or foe, or rabbit), so you never get bored when you do have to use it.

I have used it a few times before, but even on the character I used the Thu'um the most(ATM I actually prefer not to use it unless I am in trouble) I almost never used it. The long cooldown and limited areas one can use it in made it very unappealing.

Jo'Nyan has mentioned her dislike for the rain in Skyrim, this one feels it rains enough without clumsey Nords shouting the skies open!

I only first got it towards the end of the main quest....didn't seem to do much against a group of Draugr Deathlords.

I had just gotten the first word and was dying to test it. I see what I thought was a couple of bandits fighting a bear, so I unleash my elemental wrath upon them... And end up pelting Vilkas and Ria with lightening. They were not impressed - and essential, apparently. Had to reload.

Why are you worrying about it killing Lydia? Treat it as a blessing rather than a curse....

Imo Storm Call is best used at bandit forts/entrances to dungeons or when you're in the complete middle of no where and a dragon decides to suddenly notice you and attack you.

I like to use Storm Call when I run up on an old fort full of mages in its exteriror cell.

Just run up to the wall and let her rip, count to 30 and then look around the place for survivors. The only thing to do after that is loot to your heart's content.

at dead crone rock i ran into more forsworn than i bargained for and a briarheart with 2 glass swords that shout has saved my life more times than that of course but that time at dead crone rock was the most dramatic rescue.

I know the situation you are talking about, Krosis and a dragon, shame I did not have storm call then, it would have helped me out for sure.
