THIS. lol, it would be so freaking hilarious to use a hunters bow and some nice stronge arrows (since their basically all around silent and deadly weapons, it should probably have a nice percentage in critical damage), or get some cool crossbow or something XD this comment made my day :P

Wow this is some argument about swords. I do not understand why people would even be against the idea of any melee weapon in the game. Guns are superior, and nobody is going to dispute that. Except on one point; they do require ammunition. Would it not be great if we could have a fallback weapon like a sword to save our butts when we run out of ammo? I also pointed out in a different thread that swords are still part of the military's uniform. My cutlass is not made just for ceremonies.

Blade weapons are pretty bad compare to blunt weapon in the sense of reliability.

true, most Knights (higher level knights that is) actually use a Mace most of the time and a broadsword as a secondary, since most of the time, the Mace itself can crush metal and snap tendons into a ball, basically making the enemy dead or sprawling on the ground, writhing in pain lol. Plus with a chain attached and a spike ball (flail? idk forgot its name) it would have a longer reach against enemies in close combat... :/ why want a persons head fly off (if your lucky) rather then simple crush it into a soupy puddle with eyeballs floating in it? :3

This is silly. It's a fu@ckin Katana. There's bound to be one fu@kin Katana in Nevada. This is not the Tri Force Sword from Zelda were talkin about. It's a primative weapon that originated in Japan. My God. There were Katanas in the United States long before Wolrd War II. Americans would buy them in Japan and then bring them back to the states or Japanese immigrants in the US already had them. They were even made in the United States in those days. Americans would also train in Japanese dojos and then go back to the states and start their own schools. There was an exchange of culture going on between the two countries since the 1800's.

A useable one would be incredibly difficult to track down. The forging process for these "primitive weapons" is incredibly difficult and time-consuming. Folding a very precise mixture to get appropriate steel a thousand times, with perfect dimensions, tensile strength (they aren't rigid, they're springy), ect, is a process that only rich collectors can really pay for these days.

A real Katana will cost you thousands.

Reliability is a moot point considering the game mechanics. Sure blunt weapons are easier to find, but it would be nice to have a proper sword (not necessarily a katana), but an American made sword like a Navy cutlass, an Army/Marine saber, or the SEAL's specially made short sword. Even a bayonet would be a nice find. I had one for my M-14 rifle when I was overseas.
