Who All will stay true to Brink

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:00 am

Meh, i don't know much about how it runs :P But! if everywhere is connected by cables which require power surely most places will eventually lose power anyway. Or have their internet cables chewed/destroyed.

And you could say "what about wifi" Well even the wifi has to be connected to a cable at some point.

xbox live is down.... but the internet still exists? I'm calling bull on your story ;)

anyway, i can't say for certain i will stay true to brink, i mean anything could happen right. BUT from what i have seen and if it lives up to my expectations i will say yes. I will stay true!

:turtle:
Okay let me put it this way. Ive spent the last year waiting for this game because i think it's insane. If it ends up svcking in some way, Im just going to kill myself. :)

Haha, i probably wouldn't kill myself but i would definitely feel a bit like "i now have nothing to do with myself" and be in a permanent slump forever.

section 8 had a public beta mostly anyone could join and play

i knew it was going to fail before it was released

there are no public betas or demo for this game

i play games until they stop being fun for me, if its a bad game, its not going to get played. But this game doesnt look like a bad game

Assuming the P2P connection provides good gameplay, I think I will be hooked on Brink for the long-haul. I will definitely still be getting BF3 (my only other FPS), but those games just scratch two very different itches (as it were).

If Brink is a quality game than i cant imagine my loyalty swaying any. I'll be playing it for a very long time to come.

This.

Unless they can prove that they know why it was a flop and improve on the formula for next time (which sometimes happens with terrible games that get sequels)

this is true, however, i think we are going down the wrong path here.... SD have always made good games, what would change now?

Maybe, but the real question for me is "will Birnk stay true to it's players?"

I've seen far too many games completely change through patching after I bought them. I pay $60 for a game because it works the way it does and then it suddenly doesn't work the way it did anymore.

If Brink works and doesn't change just to quell whiners, then I'll play it for as long as I remain interested.

I doubt this will happen.

SD are pretty solid in their convictions of doing things their way.

This game looks great on paper, but there have been a lot of games that look great on paper and didn't play well. Bugs, glitches, clunky controls and lag can take the fun factor way down. I like the fact that this game is a thinking game. You don't have to be a great shooter (it helps), but you do need to be good at thinking and planing what your going to do and you need to do it as a team to be effective. I haven't anticipated a game this much in quite a while.

I read in the compendium this game has "Fully mappable controls for both PC and console" or something along those lines, this will IMO negate clunky controls as you can do it however you want.

I will stay true to Brink if it is a game that is worth staying true to.

If the game is a total pile, which I doubt it will be, then "staying true" to it seems like a negative thing to hitch my wagon to.

@Graydragon7: Agreed. On paper Brink does look great. Alpha Protocol and Too Human were also awesome games conceptually. Then I played them.

So making an oath to "remain faithful" to a video game that has yet to be released is a little awkward. What if she becomes a psycho or cheats on you with Tetris?

I am a loyal and devoted fan to only one franchise at the moment and that is Battlefield. All else is what I would consider a trifle in other affairs or practise.

I use to be a fan of the Medal of Honor series but the current installment is currently awaiting execution by the purging of its sins by fire. Once I finish its achievements (already stated I was an Achie. sponge) I will set it a blaze in the holy bathing of gasoline so that my soul may rest knowing there is but one less in the world. Then I will take a picture of it and send it to the EA forums.

As for Brink, I plan to get it and play it with friends. If it doesn't meet my standards I have no trouble returning it. If its an abomination to gaming I will forgive it of its sins within the cleansing of flame and maniacal laughter.

I also feel I must add I have a small cult following for Oblivion/Skyrim and Chromehounds.

But honestly what most people SAY they will be after the game release is total speculation. I have seen it time and time again. Devotion and loyalty only lasts til opening day, after that, all bets are off and reality emerges. Some will stand, others fall.

I've been a loyal fan since two years ago, and I've still yet to actually play the game. I'm convinced that Brink will be the best shooter, if not the best game in general, that I have ever played.

If this game is even close to being what I expect it to be then I will be playing it as my main shooter at least until Battlefield 3 comes out. And even then I will probably split time as they should be different enough to enjoy at the same time.

yeah exactly, im hopein this game turns out to be great with great controls and no bugs/gliches but ive seen great ideas fail due to these issues (section 8, too human, alpha protocal jus to name a few).

I have lots of admiration and respect for what Brink is doing, and if it turns out to be as fun as it looks I will be extremely happy.

That being said, however, everything in life is a stick of gum in terms of enjoyment --- after a while, the flavor will be chewed out. Happened with WoW and TF2 for me. How long that takes, I cannot say.

But I hope Brink will keep its "flavor" going long. :)
