Who All will stay true to Brink

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:37 pm

I have lots of admiration and respect for what Brink is doing, and if it turns out to be as fun as it looks I will be extremely happy.

That being said, however, everything in life is a stick of gum in terms of enjoyment --- after a while, the flavor will be chewed out. Happened with WoW and TF2 for me. How long that takes, I cannot say.

But I hope Brink will keep its "flavor" going long. :)

And never forget...

It DOESN'T lose flavour on the bedpost overnight.

6 months to a year, that's about all I give a game except Morrowind which I gave almost 3 years to. Most games like Brink, I go, I learn, I get to be pretty good at it and then run off thinking I will go back and play it again but generally get hooked on the next one I play. Rinse Wash Repeat

Never heard the nature of enjoyment so well.

It's not a perfect anology for games, they regain their flavour when left unchewed for long enough.

I only really noticed that after I tried trading games in for cash.

Well if you don't enjoy it, there's no reason to stay "loyal".

This is a hard question to answer before the game's release. Anyway, i'm gonna pre-order Brink, which is quite some commitment for me, considering i bought like only two fullprice games or so over the last year. So i really want to like the game.

But i have to admit, my attention span towards a game can diminish very quickly. If i discover suddenly a new game, i'm very fast all over it, and it is possible i won't touch the "old" game for a long time. So i can't really answer this question. All i can say is: i'm planning to play it a lot, i was not so excited over a MP-Shooter for many years.

I can pretty much tell you that I'll flat out play this game until it dies. I'm currently not playing any shooters so, yeah.. I want one badly.
If I played CS and TF2 for all those years, then I think Brink will be the same for me. Just because KDR isn't part of the game, doesn't take the fun out of it.
I suspect that, if Brink is successful and theres leagues for me to be in, I'l play it for a very long time.

But if it svcks I wil beat both campaigns, salute it, and we will go our separate ways and hopefully meet again someday.

I hope to be playing this game for a long time. Even if it svcks, I will stay true to it thinking that it tried to change gaming for everyone.
