Who All will stay true to Brink

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:38 pm

I have seen the rise and fall of some pretty good games do to there Rating or the fans switching back to old favorites.

Examples Section 8 I got hyped on it for week then got it played. and granted it was fun it got old quick. Another one would be Call of duty Black ops. People swore this would be the best game out of the CoD's. They said that about MW2 as well. Once the quick scopers learned they couldn't use that non existing talent. They stayed away but more try hard ways came about and the things that were flawed became fairly visible.

But onto the topic at hand I'm going to remain Loyal to Brink. To me this game will be example to all the next First person shooters. How to make a well balanced fun. non Lone wolfing/ try Harding game So I'm just curious who Else will remain Loyal or who will cry after there first few deaths and bail back to there old favorite game.

If Brink is a quality game than i cant imagine my loyalty swaying any. I'll be playing it for a very long time to come.

I agree. I thought Section 8 was going to be the greatest game ever but shortly after buying it, I just went back to Halo. CoD is the same way.

This game how ever, looks like it will adapt to ME, not the other way around. So I will be able to enjoy it for numerous months because of its ability to change to how I play.

EDIT: Posted in wrong thread... WTF??

Anyway...

Currently, I have ACB to play online, and nothing shooter-wise really holds my attention.

When it's released, I expect Brink to be my shooter, and ACB to be my non-shooter.

I still play Rainbow Six Vegas 2 occasionally. And it's one of the games which never had a good reputation (because it does have some annoying bugs), neither was very popular amongst online gamers. But still there is a small community which is active.

Now these days it's really hard to establish a long lasting game. This is for the reason developers don't want long lasting games, but also because players tend to stick to their old and known games by now.
The only most secure way to make a game lastingly popular is basicly, to deliver a sequel to a previously successful game.

However, if a game brings great quality to the table and can pull off a 85+ rating (let's say on metacritic), the odds appear to be good to have it become a major hit and longlasting popular game.
If Splash Damage hand out test-versions to all the various magazines and websites, we could see how it turns out quite soon.

It'll be my shooter for a long time because nothing else right now even begins to hold my attention. I spend more time lurking Brink forums than playing other shooters.

I'm gonna be sad if brink doesn't live up to my expectations. If it doesn't disappoint, well i wish i could say i'd turn in CoD and Halo but i have those games for splitscreen, but I will be playing this game forever especially if i can get a nice team going. But crap as soon as I heard the release date move up and see that its so close i haven't been able to get off the forums for stop looking for new news and videos I think its driving me crazy

edit: The only reason i have CoD and halo now that i think of it is cause theres no other fun shooters that have splitscreen available.... brink doesn't.... bad company 2 doesn't.... crysis 2 doesn't.... battlefield 3 won't..... ugh now its a sad day in the world of Mech

Pledging loyalty to a shooter, which already sounds kinda pointless, doesn't make any sense when you have yet to try the shooter first-hand.

So many topics coming out now - And the game hasnt even been played/judged....

Can we not over hype this game please... Too human was the same- Years of over hyping Norse mythology gods , Baldur - Great action etc etc.....Just to be a complete flop.

But now the same with this - As ive says before i know many of us are excited and in his whole "omg brink is my life" - But can we avoid the abstract subjects.

Lets wait till Brink comes out at least.

True to Brink, I will stay! I mean I will go play other games too. Or maybe even take a break but I am not going to play it for a week or two then just toss it in a draw or something.

It's a multiplayer game, you have to expect to die plenty of times before you start enjoying it.

In single player FPS, The Player takes down hordes of NPCs. (that is to say, they kick ass.)
In multiplayer, The More Able Players take down hordes of The Less Able Players. (that is to say, they pwn n00bs)

A great thing about Brink is that the LAPs can still enjoy themselves, because the MAPs who feel like taking it easy and playig casually will give them a buff, a pep talk, some fire support and a pat on the back when thay've done the objective under their guidance.

I will DEFINENTALY at least play Brink for 6 or so months, as my Halo disc is currentaly dead to the world, and I might even change my loyalty to mainly Brink instead of Halo. I will probably play Brink untill the second comes out, if there will be one, which I think there will be. Also I already pre-ordered so...

I have a copy of Brink. I got it by using my time-machine that only travels forward in time. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sending this message from the future. Oh, just so everyone knows, in about 1 month the entire planet will be overrun by a zombie epidemic. I'd play Brink, but Xbox Live is down because of the zombies.. Damned zombies always spoiling my fun.

I don't want this to happen to me with Brink.
The other day I went to play Chromehounds. It's a mechwarrior game that was a lot of fun. I hadn't played it in over a year but was anxious to get back into it until Brink came out.... Signed online and found out they had shut down their servers. Brink, never do this to us... i want to play brink for at least the life of the console it's made for. Yes, I know i just ended a sentence with a preposition and I don't care.

Xbox live still worked... SEGA just pulled their servers for chromehounds because the community for it got too small.

I will definitely stay true. I think it will stick around for a long time. Like u said, CoDs are basically the same just updated so its kinda u play one u played em all. I think what will keep people into this (those that give it a fair chance) is its depth. Its so much you can do that will make no game feel the same. You have those that prefer stick in the game and shoot em up but with the amount of people i see on this site alone i think brink has a great chance to stick around for the long run.

I wasn't calling bull on the Chromehounds story i was calling bull on the "future zombie type deal" story :P (which is obviously bull anyway, i just thought i would say it just incase anybody wasn't in the clear on the whole issue)

...

You know XBox Live isn't needed for the internet to run, right?

PSN and XBox Live could go down right now, simultaneously, and the internet would carry on unaffected.

It's a fully decentralised network, PSN and XLive are centralised, take down the servers, and everything stops. Zombies are good at killing servers.

So are drunken zombie-killers with shotguns.

The internet cannot be stopped. I know this because the internet has become self-ware as of May 2nd. The internet has been sending waves of it's minions to destroy any and all humans. In a Twitter message sent to the human race, the internet says: "Wazzup, human race? Are you guys ready to be destroyed? I'm totally sending out a machine army to destroy you guys ; p"

All i was saying was that it was highly unlikely that if said zombies are great at ending servers then BOTH would be down, not just one.

Also, if the human race isn't dedicating itself to maintenance they the internet servers would end up dying anyway because any problems would go unchecked.

Its just highly unlikely that xbox live only would go down, either they both would or neither would. IMO

The internet doesn't rely on servers.

It's a decentralised network.

That's the whole point of it.
