Who's your most hated NPC?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:23 pm

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Heimskr is the only NPC I'd say qualifies for me, but even then...

It's awesome that he quotes the Many-Headed Talos, and his speech is great and all...the first couple of times. The fact that he's ALWAYS THERE screaming throughout Whiterun...yeah...

Typically, when I make a new character, I open the console, disable him, then spawn Thalmor gloves and place them where he was standing, thinking in my head that he was "silenced" by the Thalmor in the night.

Every essential character ever. I'm willing to sacrifice all factions to allow myself to murder every last one of them.
Do you know what svcked me into Morrowind? The ability to kill the questgiver. Morrowind and Fable were my all time favorite games because it gave the player the freedom to do whatever (s)he pleases, including murdering everyone. (When the quest is finished, you could generally kill the quest giver in Fable) It actually made me care about the NPCs because it made the world feel like everyone's life was on the line at all times. Also it was relieving to punch some [censored] in the face when they demanding you to do some quest because they said so. The first person that comes to mind in Skyrim is Delphine. The first time I met her, I literally walked out the door and didn't touch the main quest until 50 hours later.

I spread my hate equally among all the little idiotic NPC's the game had to offer , almost settling on the kid that worked for belethor. One night I found he was so excited to tell me for the THOUSANDTH TIME THAT HE WORKS FOR BELETHOR AND I SHOULD STOP BY , that he was actually standing in my front room whil I was looking to unload. Then I did the civil war as imperial on another character and have found a new special being for my hatred that I was somehow able to limit interaction with before. Maven Blackbriar's idiotic drool-mouthed son of a dog that turns into the steward and I had to talk to him to buy and decorate my house. These two specifically COMPEL me to argue that siding with the imperials is evil and a huge lack of moral conviction on this one aspect alone. Not really , but it sounds good =P

I so wanted to kill the art collector guy in Old Bowerstone in Fable III, but it wouldn't let me.

Yeah - probably the only genuinely English accent in the game. Too bad she's too quiet for it to make a difference.

Hate:
Delphine
Ulfric Stormcloak
Galmar Stone-Fist
Esbern
Nazeem
The child in Whiterun "I'm not afraid of you... " etc.

Without a doubt, Faendal. I sided with Seven in their little love triangle because of Faendals pompous attitude. After marrying Camilla Valerius and moving to breezehome i awoke to find him in MY HOUSE by MY WIFE. once he stood up i tried to talk reasonably but he yelled you dare talk to me after what you did or some bs like that. he HAD to die! as soon as he turned around i squatted and did a cutscreen dagger sneak attack. for those who havent seen it you pop up behind the person, cover their mouth and slit the throat. SOOOOOO satisfing but then Camilla said by the gods, did that just happen and i gained 1000 bounty.... sigh....i dont allow witnesses. long story short i now have two bodies hidden in the alchemy room and a bogus sewage story to tell Lydia about the smell.

You hear about that pre-release glitch where a chicken reported the player for a murder? 'Twas hilarious!

I had a chicken report its *own* murder after I shot it with an arrow, and had a bounty added for Riverwood. Then a few seconds later, the game told me that all witnesses were eliminated, and removed the bounty.

That idiot Talos preacher in Whiterun. I cannot stand religious dribble being shouted in public no matter what it is. Especially as he goes on his anti elves tirade...

He's talking about the Thalmor. You know, the ones kidnapping and torturing people. But of course, open air preachers are much more egregious.

Njada Stonearm and Athis - these are the only two nonhostile NPCs that I'd gladly offer to some daedric prince.

I also had issues with Skjor and despise Farkas.

Skjor.... infecting me with the dog disease and his attitude. I was seriously surprised to learn during my chat with Kodlak that my motivation for the last few of their missions had been to "avenge the death of Skjor" - my motivation had in fact been to blast through their questline as quickly as I could to get rid of the dog disease again.

Farkas is just an idiot. Wearing some crappy heavy armor without any skillpoints in that. Also, I had the "sneaky PC & idiot warrior companion follower" with him and I hadn't yet figured out a way to stop him crouching passively next to me when Silver Hand is hitting him on the back of his head.

... But actually, the only named NPC that actually made me attack him in cold blood was Barbas. I shot arrows in his face during that quest. Twice.

With Talen-Jei, I had some very angry glaring matches, but I can understand his attitude.

And I don't get the Stephen Russell VA hate here. His voice is perfect for the type of NPCs he's been cast for (Mercer Frey, Belethor, etc).

The only VA work that annoyed me so far were Moira Quirk (Karliah), because they effed up the volume controls and some parts of Max von Sydow (Esbern), when it's just plainly noticeable that they recorded the various lines of one of his replies on very different days, and he is muttering too unintelligible at too many other times. VA that basically forces me to enable subtitles just to make out what they're saying is bad VA.

According to the game guide, Farkas is tagged for Heavy Armor.

According to Farkas' ingame stats (I met him at level 2):

HeavyArmor >> 15.00
LightArmor >> 20.00
TwoHanded >> 25.00
OneHanded >> 61.00
Marksman >> 15.00
Block >> 20.00
Smithing >> 100.00

And with these skills, he runs around with twohanded and heavy armor.

He's an idiot, as I said.

420 health though, that's his only bonus.

Belethor (since we have to be speciffic) but really any NPC with his voice.

And since this is at least a third of all male NPCs in the game, it makes for a long, long list. I've been contemplating a special project for Belethor. Using the console, I'll make him a follower, and take him to, oh, let's say a giants' camp, telling him to help himself to all the ivory he can carry. Sigurd can take over the business.

Heimskr is another I'd like to "help out", especially since his audience is that old Battle-born biddy and the bum. And frankly, Aerin annoys me. There's Mjoll, contemplating Grelka's armor display while rubbing her chin, and Aerin - useless, aimless, pointless Aerin, tells me for the umpteenth time that he's never seen her so upset.

Any Thalmor is automatically dead on arrival when I find them.

No doubt there are some others that need to be introduced to a walk on the wild side.

As of now, there are many.

1. That darn preacher man in Whiterun. I killed him on day one as I couldn't stand his yammering.
2. Ancano (and what's in point 3.)
3. Almost each and every Thalmor/Aldmeri Dominion member out there.

I can deal with the reasonable elves, but the ones thinking they are supperior to exactly everyone and talk down to everyone, they are the ones I wanna kill coldblooded. Such as Ancano.

Hmm... Who do I hate?

Heimskr is pretty annoying, my Dunmer killed him so he could have some quiet, my other characters tolerate him.
Others would be that racist dude harassing Dunmer, the Blackbriars and Silverbloods, Nazeem, that beggar in Markarth who wants me to steal from the temple, and likely some more I'm forgetting.

Edit: Any Thalmor who attacks me when I say I revere Talos as a Divine (I always do that to goad them into hitting first, it's like I'm giving them a chance to learn some tolerance for once and live. They don't learn very well though.)

These two are not really the character's faults as much but Bethesda's in limiting options.

I got pissed at Eorlund Greymane for a while when he told me he could make me any type of Skyforge weapon I wanted, and neglected to mention he doesn't have the only type I use, warhammers.

I also had issues with Skjor and despise Farkas.

Skjor.... infecting me with the dog disease and his attitude. I didn't hate Skjor, but was pretty miffed when O realized I couldn't continue the Companions without joining the Circle. And I also rushed through the questline quickly to get cured, not really for Skjor's sake but because I wanted to be in a Fighters Guild without having to be a werewolf.

I too hate Cicero and wish the worst of things could happen to him besides my blade through his heart. I've also been very tempted to drop Ulfric Stormcloak off a great mountain, but I settled with chopping his head off.

I kinda hate the Empire as well and will never forget them for almost decapitating me. Sure, it was all a big mistake, but if I could, I would behead Tullius.
