I only really care about the quests and story, any unique item additions that come with it are nice but not why I'm buying the DLC.

That makes me wonder, do I need LIVE to purchase the DLC?

Thats not the way you discourage gaming companies to stop using Steam, however safe it is.

Seriously done with the 'Steam is evil' argument. Online digital distribution is the future for PC gaming. I would predict that physical copies won't even be available in the next five years.

Steam has excellent customer service and offer amazing sales. I rarely pay retail price for a game now because of them. They also support a LOT of indie developers who don't get enough love anywhere else.

There is no legitimate excuse in my eyes for people hating on a digital distributor who goes out of their way to support the gaming community like they do.

Except, perhaps, the excuse that a consumer can own a copy of a game? :P

I do agree that it is the... future of gaming.

However dismal I may find it.

An island to the North with a diverse unique land.
More creatures.
New weapons, armor, and clothing.
Maybe a quest line that rebuilds Winterhold.
I want new spells some of the old spell back and spell creation.
The option to change you hair, beard, face paint, and dirt levels would be great.
I hope its a proper expansion that has everything that an expansion pack entails.

That's actually really interesting what you said there.

That would be pretty exciting to have another island...

My argument to that would be you can own a car but not legally be able to drive it without a license. You bought it, it's legally yours, but if you get caught driving it you're in serious trouble.

You may say that previous games didn't HAVE to have Steam installed and that's understandable. Previous owners of cars didn't HAVE to have a license either.

Things change. Don't hate the system because of change without first stepping back and looking at the entire picture. What is the tradeoff? What are you getting for what you are losing?

I'm thinking it would be awesome to return to Morrowind again, changed by a vulcanic eruption and a political shift, but still same old Morrowind we all know and love.

I'm definitely looking forward to some Skyrim DLC. I was contented with the DLCs for Oblivion. Whether Skyrim's DLC is something similar, or entirely new, I'm going to gobble it up the moment it's released.

I would absoltuely love another big DLC expansion pack like Shivering Isles. Has a mix of everything in it, but the quests were so amazing and the world just svcks you in. Skyrim's quests tend to be "mehh" for me, so just making up new, interesting quest would be well worth it.

Only difference is, I can drive that car without insurance. It takes nothing elaborate other than putting a key into the ignition.

You can't play... well due to forum rules you get my drift.

I understand the risk and tradeoff, but think it is a step backwards... giving gamers less control over the games they play. Especially PC players, and especially those in the modding community.

Only time will tell who of us is on the right side of the equation.

So let us come back and visit this in a few years? :P

OT though :

Yes, more DLC please. Don't make it rushed, and I don't want some minor equipment. Moons of Mundus or bust!

Well I got to thinking, whatever, and wherever this new dlc will be we are guaranteed a couple of things.

1. New fantastic(literally) quest that may even have more spice than the original games quest.

2. More Creatures, Enemies. With every bethesda dlc so far, we have had new interesting enemies added into the game. All with new interesting animations. These new enemies and animations can be used for modders too. For instance, lets say bethesda added snakes in the dlc, well now modders can take the animations for snakes and now make all kinds of snakes.

3. New Weapons/Armor. I love modders armors and weapons but nobody does it like bethesda so I'm looking forward to seeing some new armor and weapons introduced.

4. New interesting characters. It's always good to see brand new characters filled with personality. May it be a crazy sadistic villian, or a hilarious character. Its still cool to interact with them and see there stories.

5. New Gameplay effects. Well basically anything added that was not in the original game. Maybe new animations for the character to learn. Or new traps, hazardous environments? New powers or abilities. New Visual effects. Anything.

What would you like to see?

1. Fantastic quests? With Bethesda? Pfft, no.

2. Oh but here's the thing with Bethesda, if they do a DLC it will probably take place in an isolated new area with isolated new creatures, so yeah, new creatures all right, just not to the main game's area, Skyrim.

3. Ah, yes. Another two-handed hammer that does exactly what the others do but with a different paintjob. Not much to be excited for. As for armors? That is something to look forward to if you care about your characters appearance.

4. Possible, but since I've seen Skyrim's design I predict one character will stand out while the rest will be boring forgetable characters with little interaction possibilities.

5. I wouldn't get my hopes up. Fallout 3 got perks, Punga Fruit and those alien biogels but not a whole lot else to change things up in the main game. And I do not consider the Punga Trip in Point Lookout to add to the "main game" as I cannot get high off my ass in the Capital Wasteland through Punga.

Scope and size, Todd Howard's remarks :

What they are considering doing :

After reading these and watching the video. I wonder if they are gonna try and make a DLC that will allow mods on consoles. PS3 already can use steam. Just get steam on xbox.

One can dream.

I don't need anything more powerful than what we already have - I just want more varieties. It'd be cool to be able to mix and match armor, you know? Let's say I like the Nord Hero/Draugr armor... but I don't like the helmet. Well, if I had two-three more choices in helmets, then I could pick the one that's the most aesthetically pleasing. Honestly, I'd like for there to be 2-3 varieties of each piece of equipment.

New quests would be good - I'd love a Vampire questline, or even one where you can Join the Thalmor. I'll restart my Altmer Mage character in a heartbeat if I can choose to join the Thalmor! It'd be nice to actually have an evil path, even if it's non-canon.

More spell varities would be great, too. I'd love more constant damage spells like the basic flames. Throw in a patch that maxes cost reduction at 85%, add in new enchant effects that increase damage and duration of spells instead, and there'd be a lot more depth in the current magic system than we have now.

Character creation options. We've got like... five eye choices, that it - the rest is mixing and matching. I'd rather have an option to just choose eye color, like you'd see in games like White Knight Chronicles. The ability to change character height would be nice too - there's more than just our face that defines our character, after all! What if I want to play a short bosmer?

I can't stand the Nord Hero Helemt. I prefer the Helm of Yngol 10x over. The longer the horns the more badass it is.

Eh, I just want more to explore, so long as it's interesting. It would also be nice if they made it to where you didn't level so fast, the game becomes easy, way too fast.

I would like that better than another Daedric plain. It is also better then the land magically expanding. I think its a better idea than branching back into Morrowind or Cyrodiil. You should also note there are several islands to the North one of which the Septim empire conquered then lost.

Yeah I have explored to the northern islands much, but if they are there, then I am sure they will be used for some DLC sooner or later.

That is what I am thinking, the islands are mentioned in the lore. A new land expanse I would like immensely, I think it would be better than having a land separated by a loading screen similar to the Shivering Isles. I loved the Isles, but I really liked the smooth transition from the main game Morrowind to the Bloodmoon expansion.

Any DLC is likely to be maybe a couple hours worth of actual quests, and a ton of misc "fetch-it" junk for the "Radiant Quests" system.

I really hope that they add a lot of new spells. Being a Pure-Mage becomes very boring after a while.
